The maids quickly bowed as their shoulders trembled. They were trying their best to maintain their fear. Lady Emberg was known for her strict punishment, and that was why everybody did things in an orderly way, not to anger her or be on her bad side. And this was the least mistake that anyone would think of happening at all.
Knowing this was a special day for their lady, everything was supposed to be more than perfect.
They knew how long it took the lady, the way she had shouted at the royal tailor, lots of measuring and money for that dress, only to be given to a villager. It was not just an insult to her but a hurt to her dearest ego.
"Who is responsible for such stupid action?" she spoke calmly.
The maids' bodies froze, as that voice meant something deadly. They knew Lady Emberg for her shouts and screams, so for her to talk calmly, almost sweetly, was just as deadly as a snake's venom.
