"Echo? That has never been found before…. I guess it's a unique?" Max asked curiously.
"Yeah… it's unique." I say, as I prepare myself to absorb the Resonator.
"Jay wait! Before you absorb it, use the Spirit skill token. I wanna see how it works." Cleo said excitedly.
So.. I decide to do just that. I wonder what spirit does…
Are you sure you want to use Spirit Skill Token? : Yes/No
"Yes."
I once again enter the world of spirits, hearing whisper of ancient beings. But this time, I get back to reality in just a few seconds.
Skill: Wisp Fox (Spirit, Iron)
Description: Summon a companion that is made out of spirits. It can sense emotions and can communicate with the user through mind. It has the ability to grant the user buffs, based on the emotion it feels.
Buffs: Calm=Magic Regen, Angry= Strength, Excited=Speed
Note: Needs 3 different essence along with 20 bronze coin to be summoned. Needs to be summoned again if it's killed.
MP cost- 30MP per summon.
"What the- A companion summon??" I say aloud filled with bewilderment.
"You got a summon? That's pretty good! What's the description?" Max asked curiously.
I read the description of the skill for the party. Cleo seemed extremely excited while Sarah was just as amazed as me. Max remained composed as always.
"Not bad, not bad." Max nodded, lingering on the description for a while.
"A fox made of spirits…. That kind of thing is pretty rare you know…" Sarah mattered, clearly impressed by the skill.
Cleo's ears twitched, her tail flicking back and forth. "Summon it! Right now!!!" she said, barely holding her excitement.
Since I did not have any essence, Max gave me three different essence to summon the Wisp Fox. As I triggered the skill, all three of the essences along with twenty coins from my inventory disappeared.
Moments later, a Wisp of white flame popped out in front of me. It slowly uncurled into the shape of a small fox. It's body half transparent. And eyes that looked like two moons together.
The moment it opened it's eyes, a wave of warmth hit me. My own thoughts mixed with something gentle, A sense of trust perhaps. As if the fox was saying, "I am here".
"Woah…" I crouch down to touch the fox, "I can feel it."
Sarah tilted her head, "Feel it? It communicates with emotions? That's… unusual. "
"Forget unusual! It's so cute!!" Cleo moved forward crouching besides the fox with wide eyes. The fox on the other hand flicked it's tail towards me, as if to say "She's too much", I could feel it communicating the thought and couldn't help but laugh.
Max gave a quiet hum, his eyes sharp. "A summon that can adjust your stats depending on its mood? That's dangerous in the right hands. You better learn to control it fast, Jay."
The fox sat down beside me, curling its tail around it's legs. The faintest echo of calm spread through me, and right away, I noticed my MP regenerating faster.
"it's sooo cutee!! Jay give it a name already!!!" Cleo demanded.
"A name... How about Vilo?" I suggested. Another wave of warmth hit me, "And it seems like it likes it too."
"Vilo the Wisp Fox, it fits nicely!" Cleo grinned, almost glowing with happiness.
Sarah chuckled. "You're hopeless when it comes to anything small and fluffy."
"Hey, don't deny it- look at it! It's so cute even you want to cuddle it!" Cleo shot back.
I couldn't help but smile at their bickering. But at the same time, I felt the fox's emotions ripple through me: calm, steady, protective. Somehow, it made me feel a little more grounded than before.
"So this is your first companion," Max said finally. His gaze didn't leave Vilo for even a moment. "Don't forget, Jay, summons aren't tools. Treat it as you would treat a frie and comrade. Its strength will grow with yours."
I nodded, stroking Vilo again. "I get it."
The fox flicked its tail once, sending another wave of warmth through me—almost like agreement.
"Alright," Max straightened. "Now that you've tested the spirit token. It's time you absorbed your final resonator."
I hesitated, glancing down at Vilo, who blinked at me with those twin-moon eyes. The thought that slipped into my mind wasn't a word, but a feeling: Curiosity.
I exhaled, steadying myself. "Alright then…"
Do you want to absorb the Echo Resonator? : Yes/No
I stared at the glowing window, before speaking with a dry throat. "Yes."
