I never thought motherhood could be so tiring.
It's more like signing a death sentence especially being a single mom, like me, for an instance.
The inexperience natal care, the shame and stigma from the society, my family?
But despite these inevitable agonies, I have someone right there beside me.
A person to talk to, hold hands with, share warm hugs with, cuddle, laugh with , cry with or even play with.
Someone to call me 'mommy' with the most tiniest and sweetest voice ever,
My own reflection; Noel
"Mommy". Her sharp little voice jerked me out of reverie.
'So much writing for today', I covered my journal, I should be making breakfast instead.
"Coming, champ". I shouted checking the almost burnt noodles.
'Thank goodness!'. I whispered.
We'd ean out of groceries if this should get burnt up.
I served her the dished out noodles and few broccoli in a bowl.
Her happy countenance dropped.
But why do most kids hate broccoli?
"Not again mom! I thought you promised?". She rolled her blue eyes, a well cultured habit for a five years old girl.
"I never remembered". I shrugged
"Argh!".
I took an opposite seat, "You should start by appreciating".
She twitched her lips which made her look more cute, "Thank God and Thank you mommy, but--".
My phone rang disrupting her futher complains.
"Hurry up or you'll be late for school , I have an interview to catch up with".
I made sure she took a spoonful before leaving her with her meal.
She looked for pathetic.
"You're a lifesaver, Anna". I whispered over the phone.
"You should stop feeding my goddaughter vegetables". Her tone was strict.
"Vegetables are not poison". I stated clearly.
"Whatever!".I giggled over the phone because she gave up.
"So are you ready for it?".
Her question made made my stomach churn.
"Thank you, Anna. I don't know how to show my appreciation ".
She laughed, "You'll know that after you got that job. You go girl!". She yelled.
Is she really at the office?....
.... Adrian POV
I took bigger energetic strides towards my office neglecting my staffs greetings.
"Good morning, sir Adrian"
"Good morning.... Sir".
"Good morning, chairman".
The first thing that flushed to my mind was to collapse on my chair.
My gaze landed on a pile of work waiting for me on the table, I groaned.
'Can my day get anymore worse?'.
First it was Kira, she took advantage of me last night after successfully got me drunk and now mom wants us to get married after she found us together in bed with me... 'A dream come through '.
And then, piles of workload from the so called family business awaits.
"Argh!". I grunted after realising where these hell of workloads came from .
I dialled the intercom and shortly after, a vibrant looking man of age brackets emerged; the HR.
"Good morning sir...". I ignored
"What is going on Daniel? Am I the only one handling this organisation for heaven's sake?".I threw daggers at him, he succumbed.
"I'm sorry Sir Adrian, but the interviews for the two vacancies will commence today".
I know we lack two most important staffs but I cannot bring myself under control but put the blame on Daniel which was wrong.
"What took you so long? Just hire the first person to be my PA so this workload will be cleared ASAP"
His forehead creased, "I thought the available spaces are Secretary and Project manager, sir?".
I furrowed my full brows, "Are you questioning my decisions?".
He quickly bowed, "No sir. Copy sir".
The decisions was a bit risky but....

I waited patiently as I watched the HR skimmed through my resume.
He has a bright and well chiseled face, no wonder Anna always talks about her office.
She says, it's a den of cuties especially her--
"You're hired, Ms. Clifton". His voice jolted me out of my dirty subconsciousness.
He stretched his hand for a shake, my heart almost bursted with joy.
"Thank you sir". I recieved his warm hands which send chills down my spine.
Are you crushing already? I mentally snapped myself.
"You can start today as GLOBAL TECH new PA".
I jaw dropped, like Personal Assistant?
I pursed my lips, "I applied for the post of project manager which is vacant I suppose and not PA".
His forehead creased, "Double salary, double allowance?".
The offer is so juicy but I have no experience.
"Not interested?". His brows furrowed under dark hair.
Anna did everything to make this job happen and I need funds for me and Noel. This is an opportunity even though I'm not sure if I'll succeed.
"Okay sir! When will I start?".
He had a smile on his lips, "Today".
