Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Flames of Rebellion Spread

In a certain kingdom in the East Blue, Violet and Hakurou walked through a "prosperous" city.

"So these are the so-called nobles Lord Rimuru mentioned?" Violet's expression was grim. Not far ahead, a noble was lashing a civilian with a horsewhip for accidentally stepping in his way. As he whipped, he hurled insults, while the civilian could only repeatedly apologize, not daring to fight back even as blood streamed from his wounds. The surrounding people wore expressions of suppressed anger, but one glance at the guards flanking the noble made them hesitate.

"Scum like this doesn't deserve to live in this world," Violet said coldly. She took a deep breath. "Hakurou, let's start the liberation from this country."

"No problem at all," Hakurou replied calmly. But the fury burning in his eyes was chilling.

"You damn lowlife!" the noble shouted. "A worthless wretch like you dares block my path? I'll teach you the difference in status!" He raised his whip again.

Crack!

"That kick felt great," Violet said as she calmly retracted her leg. The noble had been embedded into a nearby wall, unconscious or worse.

"Did… did she just hit a noble?"

"You've got to be kidding…"

"Is she not afraid of being arrested? Striking a noble is punishable by law!"

The crowd stared in stunned silence. Someone had actually dared to lay hands on a noble—this was outright rebellion!

"Seize her!" the guards finally snapped to attention, rushing to capture Violet.

Surrounded by dozens of guards, Violet didn't even flinch. At that moment, Hakurou leisurely stepped forward, slowly drawing his long blade. In a flash, he was standing beside Violet—and all the guards who had been advancing behind her collapsed.

"Your sword is even faster now," Violet remarked without surprise.

"Let's go. We've wasted enough time. Let's head straight to the palace and take control of the king," Hakurou said, sheathing his sword as his gaze turned toward the distant castle.

"You're right! Let's hurry. Maybe Lord Rimuru will praise us if we do a good job," Violet said excitedly, eyes gleaming.

Their Operation to Overthrow the World Government was quite straightforward:

For brutal, corrupt countries, they would directly topple the regime by force. For salvageable nations, they'd adopt a softer approach, forming alliances or friendly relations. At the same time, they deployed people to monitor the World Government and the Marines, aiming to prevent aid from reaching allied nations, and to recruit kind-hearted individuals from within. Roger and Whitebeard, meanwhile, gathered pirate forces to assist various countries.

At the same time, similar events were unfolding in the West Blue, North Blue, South Blue, the first half of the Grand Line, and even the New World.

"What… what is that thing?" a bloodied soldier gasped, staring up at the sky in terror.

Veldora had returned to his original form. His massive wings blotted out the sun, casting the entire city into shadow.

With a casual squeeze, he crushed the king in his claws, then addressed the stunned citizens below.

"I am the Storm Dragon, Veldora. From this day forth, this nation is under my rule. Do you understand?"

In another kingdom…

"So this is a king?" Milim said, holding the portly ruler who sat on the throne. "Not only is he fat, but he's ugly, too. Listen up, moron. I am the greatest Demon Lord—Milim! From today onward, this kingdom belongs to me. Got it?"

"Wha—? Impossible!" the king shrieked. "You dare defy the World Government? I am a member state! You're making a terrible mistake. Let me down and you might still live. Better yet, if you agree to become my concubine, I'll forgive your transgression. How about that?"

His tone had gone from fearful to smug, as if he was doing Milim a favor.

Milim looked at the lecherous fool with disgust, her brows furrowed. Is this guy brain-damaged? Without another word, she punched him, sending him crashing through dozens of walls. His fate was unknown.

"Oh well. I didn't expect him to surrender anyway. This is more efficient." She stretched with a yawn. "Hehe, if I conquer the most kingdoms, Rimuru will definitely praise me tons! And maybe give me lots and lots of candy! Okay, let's do this! Go Milim! You're the best! Milim is unbeatable!"

The soldiers who had been pretending to play dead nearby watched with confusion as Milim went from annoyed to ecstatic, cheering herself on at full volume. What the hell is going on? But none of them dared move.

"Hey, how long are you guys gonna keep lying there?" Milim asked, irritated. "If you're gonna fake it, at least be convincing! You think you can fool me, the great Milim? I can hear everything—even your thoughts!"

"Get up! Anyone who doesn't gets a punch!"

"I-I'm up! I'm getting up right now!"

Milim's Life Motto: If you can solve it with brute force, why bother using your brain?
