Wednesday, July 14, 2010
The sun was just coming up over Broadfield Stadium as Niels walked onto the training pitch. He could feel a nervous knot in his stomach.
Today was a big day for Crawley. Luke Freeman was due to arrive to sort out his personal terms, and Paul Pogba was joining squad training for the first time.
With the League One opener just weeks away, days like this were crucial. Niels carried his worn clipboard, packed with new drills and tactical notes.

Niels wanted to make the most of the day, focusing on getting commitments sorted and building relationships.
