Chapter 116: Midfield Maestro
Monday, July 12, 2010
It was a cool morning at Broadfield Stadium. The clouds were starting to clear, and the pitch was still wet from the rain.
Niels arrived early and headed onto the training ground. The new season was getting close, and he knew the squad still needed more players to handle the demands of League One.
Even with the problems ahead, he felt confident about what he already had. Max brought determination, Thiago could change a game with a moment of skill, and Dev Patel had a habit of finding space when defenders least expected it.
There was still work to do, but Niels believed the team had enough to build on. Now he had to make the right moves before the season began.
Niels stopped at the stadium entrance before heading into the meeting. The board would finally decide whether he could bring in the two midfielders he wanted, and he knew he had to make his case clearly.
