Chiyu didn't just charge in head-on because he was confident in his own power—though he definitely was. The real game-changer was Franky's War God Battleship.
It was a surprise bonus, really.
Chiyu had known for a while that Franky was secretly researching the ancient weapon Pluton. But in his mind, unlocking its full secrets should've taken years, maybe even decades of work.
And yet… in just a year or two, Franky managed to build a mini Pluton-class battleship.
Sure, it wasn't the real deal, but it was powerful enough that just one shell could flatten an entire city—Marineford included.
As expected...
Franky absolutely dominated this battle.
His first shot blew apart Marineford's entire frontline, vaporizing dozens of cannons and completely disrupting the Navy's offense.
His second shot forced Fleet Admiral Sengoku to go full power. He had to activate his giant Buddha form just to block it—and even then, the resulting tidal waves almost drowned the whole base. If Aokiji hadn't frozen the sea with Ice Age, Marineford might've been gone.
The War God Battleship's performance? Absolutely insane.
And yet… Franky wasn't satisfied.
"Tch. They actually managed to block that?!"
One of the Undying Legion officers behind him was shocked.
"Franky-sama, those two shots nearly leveled Marineford and you're still not satisfied?!"
"It took both Fleet Admiral Sengoku and Admiral Aokiji working together just to hold it back! That alone is legendary!"
Franky shook his head.
"The War God can only fire three shots. I've already used two. And the impact? Meh. Average."
"It's still nowhere near what I'd call 'perfect.'"
The officer stared at him.
"What's your version of perfect—one shot blowing up all of Marineford?! With that kind of firepower, we could literally take over the world!"
Franky grinned.
"Exactly! That's the plan—help Chiyu-sama rule the world! SUPER!"
"I mean… fair enough, I guess…" the officer muttered.
…
Meanwhile, Chiyu's fleet surged forward, heading straight for the massive gap Franky had blown into Marineford's defenses.
Sengoku, standing on the frozen bay, let out a slow breath—but tension still weighed heavy on him.
"Uchiha Chiyu... You're clearly working with Whitebeard. So why are you the only one attacking? Where's that old monster?"
Of course, Chiyu said nothing.
But then—
Sengoku's eyes widened. A thought struck him.
"No… wait…"
Sengoku—known as the Navy's strategic genius—realized what was happening.
"Seal the entire bay. Now!"
"Full combat alert! All troops in position!"
"If I'm right… Whitebeard's crew is coming in from underwater! They'll break through the seabed!"
"What?!"
Shock and disbelief rippled through the Marines. Vice Admirals, elite squads—everyone froze.
But with the bay already frozen over, no one could confirm if Whitebeard's fleet was really down there.
Vice Admiral Tsuru narrowed her eyes.
"So that's it… Chiyu's frontal assault is a diversion."
"He's covering for Whitebeard's sneak attack."
…
Zephyr laughed hard.
"That bastard Chiyu—he really busted his way in from the front!"
Ace frowned.
"What is that thing? A cannon that powerful…?"
Even Garp sighed.
"The Navy's really fighting two monsters at once now?"
"Guess even this old dog'll have to move."
Ace stared at the frozen sea, emotions churning.
"Dad… are you really coming?"
…
Without hesitation, Sengoku launched a full-power attack on Chiyu's flagship, the Uchiha.
"In the name of the Fleet Admiral, I won't let a traitor break into Marineford!"
"Great Buddha Shockwave!!!"
He activated his Mythical Zoan power—transforming into a massive golden Buddha, towering with divine majesty. With a roar, he slammed his palm downward like Buddha crushing the Monkey King. A shockwave exploded out in every direction, unstoppable and destructive.
The sea split open. Water was vaporized. A vacuum formed in the impact zone.
Everyone on the Uchiha froze in awe. Many were former Marines—and even now, Sengoku's power and presence hit like a mountain.
But Chiyu… stood unmoved at the bow.
He finally raised his hand.
"Raijin's Descent."
With a calm whisper, his body exploded in size—becoming a Thunder God, towering even higher than two years ago.
Eyes like burning suns. Lightning storming around him.
In one hand, a Thunder Hammer. In the other, a Lightning Spear.
He slammed them together—
BOOOOOOM!!!
A monstrous bolt of lightning, thick like a dragon, howled into the sky—crashing straight into Sengoku's shockwave.
And then...
BOOM—BOOM—BOOOOOOOM!!!
Two titanic forces collided. Shockwaves and thunder bursts tore across the battlefield. The sea churned into chaos. Giant waves hundreds of meters high rose into the air.
The Uchiha was sent flying backwards, knocked out of the breach.
The frozen bay? Shattered. Cracked. Collapsing.
Sengoku's face twisted in disbelief.
"Chiyu… His power… it's on another level. He's more than twice as strong as he was two years ago!"
Even Chiyu nodded slightly as his ship was thrown back.
"Impressive."
And then—beneath the shattered ice—a deep, guttural rumble.
Every Marine turned pale.
A dead silence fell across the battlefield.
The ocean stilled. The sky froze.
It was like the world was holding its breath.
And then…
A voice—ancient and powerful—boomed across the bay:
"Seaquake."
BOOOOOOM!!!
The sea exploded. Ice cracked and splintered into the sky. And then came the tsunami—a hundred meters tall, rising like a sea god, bearing down on all of Marineford.
The tremor alone shook the fortress walls.
Cracks split through Marineford's solid steel defenses.
Aokiji rose into the sky.
"Ice Age!"
A second wave of freezing surged outward, turning the tsunami into a wall of frozen peaks.
But then—
Ships surfaced.
Dozens of pirate ships breached the sea, their coated bubbles bursting. Their flags flapped in the wind—white crosses with a signature crescent mustache.
Whitebeard.
Edward Newgate.
The strongest man in the world.
The commander of the most powerful pirate crew—the Whitebeard Pirates—had finally arrived.
At the bow of the Moby Dick, stood a giant of a man, holding the supreme-grade naginata Murakumogiri, his presence shaking the air.
He scanned Marineford with a calm, confident grin.
…
Sengoku finally exhaled.
"All units—prepare to fight! The strongest man in the world is here!"
On the scaffold, Ace couldn't hold it in.
"DAD!!!"
Whitebeard looked up.
"Ace… my son. Don't worry. Pops is here to bring you home."
Garp stood up, arms crossed, laughing.
"Whitebeard, you cocky bastard! If you rescue Ace in front of 100,000 Marines… What are we even doing here?!"
Whitebeard smirked.
"Garp, you're too old to talk trash like that."
"Says the guy older than me," Garp shot back, still laughing.
Whitebeard's eyes swept over the entire Marineford force. No one dared meet his gaze—until they landed on Chiyu.
He smiled.
"Uchiha Chiyu. As expected. You really charged Marineford head-on and broke through their frontlines. Even I wouldn't have done it like that.
Gurararara!"
Chiyu nodded.
"Just playing my role. Since you're here now, Whitebeard… Let's get this war started."
Whitebeard laughed heartily.
"Hell yeah. Let's begin!"
The tension snapped like a whip.
100,000 Marines.
50,000+ Whitebeard pirates.
Over 10,000 Undying Legion soldiers.
And then—
A Marine somewhere shouted:
"CHARGE!!!"
The War of the Best had begun.
