Chapter 226 - Chapter 226: Capture Alive

With Xue Di's help, Huo Yuhao greatly enhanced his Spiritual Detection, allowing the group to clearly see the distant scene involving the so-called "eight insects" that Xue Di had mentioned.

At this moment, Huo Yuhao and the others finally understood why Xue Di and the Ice Bear King's auras had become so dangerously cold—the eight humans who had come to the Extreme North were currently hunting soul beasts.

Under normal circumstances, hunting soul beasts wouldn't have particularly bothered Xue Di. After all, survival of the fittest was a natural law that soul beasts themselves accepted. Countless humans ventured into the Extreme North to hunt soul beasts for soul rings; there was no way Xue Di could care about each one individually.

However, among these eight humans, there appeared to be a strong one at the Title Douluo level or higher. As a result, every soul beast they encountered was mercilessly slaughtered, leaving behind only cold corpses and scattered soul rings on the snowy plains.

Xue Di had only just said farewell to her subjects of the Extreme North. Her heart was filled with sorrow and lingering attachment toward this land and its people. Now, seeing the corpses of her subjects, likely some of those who had just gathered at her summons, brutally crushed without a chance to resist, how could she feel anything but rage?

Moreover, at this very moment, those eight humans were chasing down and surrounding a ten-thousand-year-grade Extreme North Ice Bear—a species beloved by Xue Di, the same as Xiaobai. It wasn't an exaggeration to say these humans had terribly, disastrously trampled on Xue Di's bottom line. They were dancing in a minefield.

Watching the scene before him, Huo Yuhao broke out into a cold sweat. Without needing any further words, Xue Di vanished with a flicker.

Even though one of those eight humans seemed to be a strong Title Douluo, before Xue Di, in the Extreme North, they were nothing but ants.

'Those poor souls,' thought Huo Yuhao silently, offering a prayer for them in his heart.

The Third Elder could have never imagined that despite being so cautious in hunting soul beasts, they would still run into a situation worse than their worst nightmare.

After waiting cautiously on the outskirts of the Extreme North for a while, they had decided to venture deeper again, seeking a suitable ten-thousand-year soul beast for Weina.

Their luck was poor. Along the way, they encountered numerous soul beasts. The Third Elder, harboring resentment toward Xue Di, naturally grew more irritable and killed every obstructing beast without hesitation. After much effort, they finally found an Extreme North Ice Bear suitable for Weina's soul ring.

However, just as they were about to strike, a figure appeared overhead—one that instantly chilled their souls to the marrow.

It was Xue Di.

The Third Elder would never forget the absolute zero coldness in Xue Di's gaze, or the majestic, untouchable presence she radiated like an ice goddess.

Despite his formidable mental power as a Rank 95 spiritual-type Super Douluo, the moment he met Xue Di's eyes, he felt his entire sea of spirit freeze solid. He was stunned for several precious seconds.

In those few seconds, all eight of them, including the Third Elder, lost the ability to resist and were instantly frozen into blocks of ice, captured entirely by Xue Di.

Apart from the Third Elder, the others had already lost consciousness. At this rate, it wouldn't take long before the extreme cold stripped their vitality away and claimed their lives.

Despair overwhelmed the Third Elder. If Weina were to die like this, and he as well, what would happen to the Body Sect? To the Heavenly Soul Empire? His sluggish mind, encased in ice, could only focus on the distant figure leading the eight frozen blocks away. He desperately searched for a way to break free.

Yet, Xue Di's next words plunged him into complete hopelessness.

"Hmph. You won't escape. Frozen by the extreme cold ice of my origin, there is no salvation for you, old human."

The Third Elder's gaze, blurred and unfocused within his icy prison, stared at Xue Di with a trace of rage. Was their only hope that Xue Di might show mercy? She hadn't outright killed them—what did she intend to do? How could their luck be so rotten as to provoke Xue Di herself?

Countless questions and laments battered his spirit, leaving him in turmoil.

What happened next shook the Third Elder more than anything he had experienced in his entire life.

"Yuhao, look. How should we deal with these eight? You're my master, and you're also a human. I think it's more appropriate to leave their fate in your hands."

The Third Elder felt himself dropped heavily onto the ground, his vision filled with white snow. Although he could not move, he could clearly hear Xue Di's words—and what he heard made his mind go blank.

'Master? Human?? Xue Di's master?!'

If this news got out, it would cause an uproar. Was this a joke? The mighty beast who had cultivated for over seven hundred thousand years, one of the fiercest beings of the world, recognizing a human—much less one who looked like a mere boy—as her master? Even Limit Douluos wouldn't dare dream of such a thing!

While the Third Elder's mind reeled in disbelief, Huo Yuhao quietly studied the eight frozen figures before him.

He felt deeply touched. Xue Di truly trusted him.

'Since they dared to offend Xue Di's bottom line, I cannot betray her trust.'

Huo Yuhao thought to himself. He would handle the situation justly.

"Thank you, Xue Di. For now, let's interrogate them. Let's find out who they really are. A Title Douluo escorting them... they're certainly no ordinary people."

Xue Di nodded slightly and waved her delicate hand. The eight blocks of ice floated upright onto the snow, their upper halves slowly thawing. Their heads and torsos emerged, while their lower bodies remained locked in the ground by thick ice shackles.

Finally, the Third Elder regained some clarity and was able to see the scene before him.

He stared in disbelief at Xue Di—and at the figure seated on the massive Ice Bear King, flanked by two young women.

"Who are you people?"

Huo Yuhao asked coldly, his tone sharp and commanding, leaving no room for doubt.

The Third Elder heard the voice and fixated on the boy who looked no older than fourteen.

'He... he's Xue Di's human master?!'

"This... this is impossible."

The Third Elder muttered hoarsely, unable to accept the truth. How could the mighty Xue Di, who so easily overwhelmed him, acknowledge someone with such a seemingly weak cultivation level as her master?
