After taking a deep breath, Zhao Yuan opened his eyes, only to freeze in shock at what he saw.
Inside the guest room, there was only one person. This individual was wearing a white lab coat, flipping through a book. This was not the issue—what surprised Zhao Yuan was that the person looked no older than thirteen or fourteen years of age.
Upon hearing the door open and footsteps approaching, the young figure—none other than the Chief Architect—turned around and smiled faintly, giving Zhao Yuan and the others a curious yet scrutinizing look.
"May I ask, where is the Chief Architect?"
A voice beside Zhao Yuan asked directly. "This child... is he the Chief Architect?"
Zhao Yuan's mind spun. How could the Chief Architect possibly be this child?
Seeing the confusion in the eyes of the group, the young figure—Ho Yuhao—smiled gently and responded:
"I am."
The three simple words felt like a thunderclap, rattling Zhao Yuan's very soul. What? This child? Is he the Chief Architect?
The absurdity of the situation left Zhao Yuan momentarily speechless, and the other six were equally stunned, their faces frozen in disbelief. They stood there, eyes wide, until the soul engineer at the door said, "Chief Architect, I will close the door now." Ho Yuhao nodded, signaling him to close the door. Only then did the seven of them dare to believe that the young figure before them truly was the Chief Architect.
"You're... too young," Zhao Yuan managed to say after a long pause.
With a laugh, Ho Yuhao waved his hand dismissively, saying, "Yes, I'm quite young, but since all of you are older than me, there's no need to be too formal. Please, make yourselves comfortable."
He gestured toward a few chairs in front of him. One by one, the seven of them awkwardly sat down, still struggling to fully absorb the fact that this child was, in fact, the one leading the entire education reform initiative.
As they settled into their seats, Zhao Yuan began to observe Ho Yuhao more closely. Despite his youthful appearance, Ho Yuhao possessed an inherent aura of leadership, as though he were born to command. Zhao Yuan gradually realized that the youth before him was not as out of place as he first thought. Ho Yuhao carried himself with the confidence of someone accustomed to authority, and Zhao Yuan felt a growing sense of admiration.
Ho Yuhao cleared his throat and began to speak:
"First of all, I, Ho Yuhao, would like to congratulate each of you. You have come to the highest institution in the Sun Moon Empire—the Royal Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineer Academy. You now have the opportunity to learn advanced soul engineer knowledge and become the first group of ordinary citizens with the potential to contribute and blaze a new trail for our Empire and its people. Can you hold your heads high and remain steady?"
"I look forward to seeing how you all rise to this challenge."
Zhao Yuan's heart burned with determination. The words Ho Yuhao spoke echoed in his mind. We are the first. We can't let this opportunity slip by.
Ho Yuhao's voice softened but carried an even greater weight:
"The reason I initiated this education reform is simple: I want to elevate the status of ordinary people, to tap into their untapped potential. This world doesn't just belong to soul masters and soul engineers."
The seven of them watched with rapt attention, their eyes full of eagerness. They could see Ho Yuhao's passion, and his words filled them with hope and energy.
"I want you to seize this rare opportunity, to study hard at the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineer Academy. I will help you overcome any external obstacles that might stand in your way. But I expect you to study diligently and become useful people for the Empire and its citizens. Do you have that confidence?"
Ho Yuhao's speech had stirred the group, and they now cared little about his youthful appearance. They all shouted in unison:
"Yes!!!"
Ho Yuhao nodded in approval, smiling slightly:
"Good. Very good. Now, I look forward to seeing how you perform. If you have any questions, now is the time to ask."
Zhao Yuan raised his hand, still adhering to the etiquette he had learned in the general education courses.
"What is your question?" Ho Yuhao asked with a warm smile.
"Chief Architect! I want to ask why we, as ordinary citizens, have the qualification to come to the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineer Academy, the highest institution? Our learning abilities are simply above average compared to other ordinary people."
Upon hearing Zhao Yuan's question, Ho Yuhao smiled warmly and replied:
