Chapter 379 - Chapter 380: Kaguya’s Thoughts

The Ōtsutsuki Star had been completely ruined by Kaito, and he didn't linger there. He returned straight to Earth.

When Kaguya heard about the fate of the Ōtsutsuki Star, not only did she feel no sadness over losing her homeland, but she even looked delighted, as if she had finally avenged a great grudge.

After Kaito asked, he learned the truth: back in the Ōtsutsuki Clan, Kaguya had been considered a total weakling. And among the Ōtsutsuki, there was no such thing as bonds. The fate of the weak was nothing short of miserable.

For someone like Kaguya, her ultimate end would have been being assigned to serve as the guardian of some elite Ōtsutsuki—her future absolutely bleak.

But in the world of shinobi, you can never underestimate the so-called "weaklings." Isshiki had never put Kaguya in his eyes, otherwise, he wouldn't have hidden himself on Earth, staying cooped up for thousands of years.

Aside from that, Kaito also told Kaguya about Hamura. Hearing this, a complex look flickered across her face, while Black Zetsu grew visibly agitated.

"That bastard still dares show his face?! It was Mother who gave him life, yet he betrayed her, chose to side with those humans… what an ungrateful wretch!"

"Hm?"

Kaito glanced at Black Zetsu, who instantly shrank back. Forcing a laugh, he quickly added,

"Of course, the humans I'm talking about definitely don't include you, Kaito-sama. And since Hamura helped you, then I suppose that counts as atonement for him, don't you agree, Kaito-sama?"

Kaguya stood silently. Hamura and Hagoromo were not the same as Black Zetsu. Those two were children she had actually borne herself. The feeling of being a mother for the first time had been a strange and novel one for her.

She had believed those two would become her strongest supporters. Yet ironically, they were the ones who sealed her away—all because of humans who had nothing to do with them.

Kaito, meanwhile, was quite curious about how exactly Kaguya had given birth to Hamura and Hagoromo. According to her, she had mysteriously become pregnant after eating the God Tree's fruit.

What's more, Kaguya said no new Ōtsutsuki had been born in ages. From as far back as she could remember, the clan's numbers had always been fixed.

As for her own parents—she had no memory of them whatsoever.

Kaito could only guess the Ōtsutsuki had an extremely poor ability to reproduce. After all, their innate powers were overwhelming, and they loved planting trees everywhere. If their numbers weren't limited, this universe might have already been ruined long ago.

...

Thinking of her two "filial sons," Kaguya let out a quiet sigh. Kaito noticed and asked,

"Kaguya, do you want to go see Hamura?"

"No, Master. I'll just pretend that child doesn't exist."

After saying that, Kaguya suddenly lowered her head, sneaking a glance at Kaito, and whispered,

"Master… actually, the bodies of the Ōtsutsuki are quite similar to humans. What they have… we have too..."

The moment those words left her lips, both Kaito and Black Zetsu's eyes widened.

Kaito was by no means innocent. And as for Black Zetsu, he'd lived for thousands of years—naturally his knowledge was vast. Both of them instantly understood.

As soon as Kaguya finished speaking, she regretted it. Her meaning was far too obvious—she had practically said outright that she wanted to have a child with Kaito...

In truth, she had always envied human life. But in the past, her mind had been entirely consumed by the threat of the Ōtsutsuki. She hadn't dared spare any thought for such things.

Now, though, with the Ōtsutsuki clan all wiped out by Kaito—and even if there were a few stragglers out planting trees, they couldn't amount to much—without that looming threat, she began to yearn for becoming a true mother. This time, she had no ulterior motives. She only wanted to accompany her child and watch her grow.

Black Zetsu, although loyal, was still something Kaguya had created. He was fundamentally different from Hagoromo and Hamura.

And besides, his form didn't resemble Kaguya at all. Apart from vaguely looking humanoid, he had nothing in common with her.

To Kaguya, whether it was the "large model" or the "small model," none of them were perfect. So she had to pin her hopes on making a "tiny model" of her own.

As for Kaito, he felt a mix of amusement and disbelief. He hadn't expected Kaguya to actually want to bear his child.

Not that he resisted the idea—but the odds didn't seem high. Otherwise, back in the pirate world, he might have had more than one child by now...

Black Zetsu, meanwhile, looked dumbfounded and muttered,

"I'm… going to have a lot of little brothers and sisters?"

When Kaguya saw that Kaito hadn't responded for a long while, she lowered her head even more and murmured,

"Master… forgive me. I was being foolish."

"Uh… actually, it's not impossible..."

Kaguya, still with her head down, said in a disappointed tone,

"I understand, Master. I won't ever… huh?!"

She suddenly raised her head, staring into Kaito's golden eyes—before giving him a sharp glare.

"Ahem… don't look at me like that. If you really want it, this is something we can at least try."

Kaguya's expression shifted from shock to joy. Then, without hesitation, she threw herself into Kaito's arms with a headlong dive.

Black Zetsu hesitated for a moment. Then he decided that perhaps this was not the kind of scene he ought to be present for. Quietly, he melted into a puddle of black liquid and slipped outside.

Inside the room, Kaito found Kaguya's body surprisingly cold to the touch—and her figure was far better than he had ever imagined.

She always wore that wide white robe, completely hiding her shape. But now that she was in his arms, Kaito finally realized—her body was "terrifyingly perfect."

He could feel her embrace growing tighter and tighter. That gave him a sense of foreboding. After all, it was the middle of the day!

Gently pushing her away, he said,

"Kaguya, you can't rush into things like this. You have to pay attention to the situation."

Kaguya tilted her head in confusion.

"But Master… aren't we at home right now?"

"Yes, but it's not nighttime yet! Not appropriate, not appropriate. I'll step out for a bit, but I'll definitely be back tonight."

"Alright, Master. I'll wait for you at home!"

Now that things had been spoken aloud, Kaguya grew bolder. She helped smooth out the wrinkles in Kaito's clothes, then turned toward the door.

Kaito quickly asked,

"Where are you going?"

"I want to buy some clothes. I think the outfits those kunoichi wear look really pretty!"

"...Do you even have money?"

Kaguya froze, then admitted awkwardly,

"No..."

Kaito sighed and shook his head. From the Door Space, he pulled out a gold brick the size of a palm and placed it in Kaguya's hand.

"Take this and use it freely. But remember—make sure Black Zetsu goes with you!"
