Everyone stared in disbelief. Even Rhanda, who had been watching for over three hours, couldn't speak. After all, the medicine and potions they had used were far better than the ones used by Ibran.
But the king had indeed awakened from his long slumber.
Sylas quickly approached his father. "Father, can you hear me?" he asked, grabbing Adrien's hand.
His father's nails were still blue, but his hand moved weakly and responded to his grip.
"Father…" Sylas called again when Adrien still couldn't answer.
"Give him time, Your Highness," Ibran said.
Half an hour later, Adrien looked at Sylas.
"I had a long nightmare. I thought I'd never see you again, my son."
Adrien forced himself to sit up. Sylas helped him.
Everyone was relieved. News of the king's condition spread quickly throughout the palace. It woke the guards and servants who had been asleep. The atmosphere turned lively as everyone waited for what would happen next.
