Fire surged around Seraphina as she charged at me, her magic snapping and hissing violently. The ground beneath her feet scorched black, and the air vibrated with the force of her rage. I did not move forward, nor did I retreat.
"Do you want to do this? You are not my match." My voice grew colder like the breeze of winter, it sounded ancient and angry.
I expected Seraphina to see reasons, and not charge into fighting the moment she saw Irene's corpse. But I noticed she was a good leader.
With a gentle flick of my hands, a wave of air clashed with her magic, sending her skidding back.
"Even if you are stronger, that doesn't give you the right to kill my people. You all promised us safety, and if you don't honour your words, I can't sit by and watch you kill my people." She yelled in rage.
"Then, why don't you listen before resorting to fists?" I asked softly, shaking my head. "Stop, I don't want to hurt you."
