Chapter 4 - Dragon Ball – Chapter 1 – A New Beginning (Year XX) (Age XX)

Splat!

Alex jolted upright, her pulse hammering. One moment, she had been skydiving, freefalling through endless blue sky. The next, she was here.

A suffocating darkness swallowed everything. Her breaths came sharp and uneven, panic clawing its way up her throat.

"What the hell was going on?"

Minutes passed. Slowly, her heartbeat steadied, though the eerie silence pressed in around her. That's when she noticed, she couldn't feel anything.

She glanced down, expecting her body…but instead, a soft glow pulsed beneath her skin. Her form was translucent, shimmering faintly like light trapped in water. As she raised a trembling hand, it left behind delicate trails, flickering in the emptiness.

Then, movement caught her eye, a single glowing white dot in the distance. The only break in the suffocating abyss. It felt…important.

With no other choice, Alex took a step forward, still marveling at her strange new form as she drifted toward the light.

As Alex neared the light, it intensified, growing so unbearably bright that she had to squeeze her eyes shut. A wave of warmth surged through her, weightless yet all-consuming, as if she were being pulled forward by an unseen force.

Then, suddenly, it was gone.

Blinking, she hesitantly opened her eyes, finding herself standing before an enormous roulette wheel, towering and vast. Vibrant colors danced across its surface, reflecting countless titles—manga, TV shows, movies, books—sprawled across its sections in shimmering letters.

To the right, a monolithic tablet stood, pulsing faintly with its own glow.

Her gaze locked onto the tablet's surface as words materialized, sharp and deliberate:

"{Omniversal Reincarnation System:}

To whomever it may concern, welcome to the reincarnation system of the Omniverse. To maintain its infinite expanse, a soul is periodically selected from its host multiverse and relocated elsewhere.

As compensation for the upheaval of fate, you are granted three wheel spins:

First Spin – Determines the world in which you will be reborn.

Second Spin – Selects the race you will inhabit.

Third Spin – Grants you an ability to wield in your new existence.

Once your spins are complete, you may choose your point of arrival within the timeline or leave it to chance. Additionally, you may select your gender and decide whether to retain your past memories—and if so, when they will return.

May fortune favor your journey. Good luck in your new world."

Alex stared at the tablet, her glowing form reflecting in its surface.

Her brain struggled to process the words she had just read. Omniversal Reincarnation System? Had she died? Was this some cosmic joke? She had been skydiving a moment ago, how could she have landed here?

A wave of frustration bubbled up. "Are you serious?" she muttered, dragging a hand down her face. Except…her hand passed right through her face, rippling like liquid light. She froze, staring at the translucent glow of her fingers.

"Oh. Right. Not a body anymore."

Alex inhaled sharply, steadying herself. The more she thought about it, the crazier it became. The system spoke about infinite worlds, endless cycles. Had others gone through this? Were souls constantly being shuffled around without their consent?

And yet, there was a choice. Three spins. The power to pick something before being thrown into another reality.

A cold shiver of apprehension curled around her. This wasn't just fate. This was a gamble.

She exhaled, turning to face the massive wheel. Its vibrant colors pulsed, waiting, expectant.

"Well," she murmured, rubbing her hands together. "Might as well make it count."

And with that, she stepped forward.

Alex exhaled sharply, eyeing the colossal wheel before her. The reality of her situation settled like a weight in her chest—this spin would decide her new existence.

She stepped forward, placing her hand on the edge. The moment her fingers made contact, a surge of energy pulsed through her translucent form. The wheel roared to life, spinning with impossible speed, a blur of colors and symbols streaking across its surface.

Worlds flashed before her eyes. Fantasy realms teeming with magic. Futuristic cities buzzing with technology. Ancient landscapes swallowed by time. Every possibility danced before her, taunting her with infinite potential.

She clenched her jaw, barely able to focus as the wheel's velocity slowed, each section clicking past with eerie finality. Her pulse thundered in her ears.

CLACK.

The wheel stopped.

Alex held her breath, eyes darting to the glowing text that solidified on the wheel's surface.

"{Dragon Ball Universe}"

She blinked. Once. Twice. Then let out a sharp, incredulous laugh.

"No way. You've got to be kidding."

Her mind raced, flipping through everything she knew. Saiyan's, Namekians, gods, time travel, absurdly powerful beings who could sneeze and obliterate planets. That meant there was at least a chance she'd end up in the middle of some earth-shattering battle, or worse, on the wrong side of Frieza.

She ran a glowing hand through her hair, only to remember she didn't technically have hair anymore. Right. Translucent soul problems.

The weight of it all settled in. Dragon Ball wasn't just a wild place, it was dangerous. And if she ended up as a regular human, her survival chances were…less than inspiring.

But then again…

Her fingers twitched.

If she got lucky with the next spin, this could be incredible. Training under Whis? Traveling the galaxy? Maybe, just maybe she could become something far beyond what she'd ever imagined.

Alex exhaled, squaring her shoulders.

"Alright then. Let's see where fate takes me next."

And with that, she spun again.

Alex steadied herself as the massive wheel spun once more, the void around her humming with energy.

The symbols blurred in rapid succession—countless races, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and destinies. Her pulse quickened. Saiyan, Human, Namekian, Android, Majin… this spin mattered.

Slower.

Slower.

Then CLACK.

Her glowing eyes snapped to the result.

"{Race: Saiyan}"

For a moment, she just stared. Then, a grin split across her face.

"Oh, hell yes."

A rush of exhilaration flooded her. Saiyan's weren't just warriors, they were legendary. The potential, the power, the growth. She wasn't about to be some fragile bystander in a universe of gods and monsters, she was going to be one of the strongest species to ever exist.

Her fingers twitched. Had she just secured a one-way ticket to unimaginable strength? To the thrill of combat? To transformations that shattered planets?

But then reality hit.

Being a Saiyan came with risks, battle was inevitable, and survival wasn't guaranteed. If she was born at the wrong time, she could end up under Frieza's rule… or worse, dead before she even got a chance to fight.

She exhaled sharply, centering herself.

"Alright, universe. Let's see what ability I'm working with."

And with that, she spun again.

Alex exhaled, placing her hand on the wheel for the final time. Her previous spins had already sent her down an unimaginable path, a Saiyan, in the Dragon Ball universe. But this last spin… this one would define her true potential.

She pushed.

The wheel roared to life, spinning faster than before, almost as if it knew the weight of this moment. The void around her pulsed, responding to the overwhelming surge of fate.

Abilities flashed past her Flight, Ki Manipulation, Magic, Time Control…

Faster.

Faster.

Then—CLACK.

She swallowed hard, glancing at the glowing text.

"{Ultimate Skill: Wisdom King Raphael}"

For the first time since arriving in this strange place, she was speechless.

Her glowing form flickered, as if her very soul was trying to grasp the sheer depth of what had just happened.

"There's no way... I actually pulled it?"

This wasn't just an ability. It was knowledge incarnate. Limitless intelligence, perfect calculations, subconscious decision-making, instant analysis of everything. It was a power that restructured reality itself, adapting, learning, evolving.

Her mind whirled. In the Dragon Ball universe, this meant one thing, absolute control over her growth. She wouldn't just be strong. She would be unmatched, able to maximize every ounce of Saiyan potential with chilling precision.

A slow, wicked grin crept onto her face.

"Well then... this is going to be fun."

She stepped forward, ready to claim her new destiny.

The tablet pulsed again, shifting its glowing text.

"{Select Your Point of Arrival.}"

Alex took a slow breath, scanning the timeline options. There were countless possibilities, she could land in the Age of the Saiyan's, thrown into the chaos of Planet Vegeta's glory days. She could emerge much later, in the era of Frieza's conquest, or even beyond, in a timeline unexplored.

But no.

She already knew where she needed to be.

Her glowing hand hovered over the selection screen. She steadied herself. If I'm going to live this life, I'm doing it right.

"{Birth—Twin Sister to Kakarot.}"

A ripple of energy surged through her, but before the transition could begin, another selection appeared:

"{Select Your Gender.}"

For the first time since arriving in this strange system, Alex hesitated. She could change everything. Reinvent herself completely.

But… did she want to?

She thought back to her past life—not all the details were sharp, but she knew herself. Every experience, every decision, every moment that shaped her—it all felt right.

She exhaled. I'm keeping this.

Her fingers pressed the glowing selection.

"{Female.}"

A warmth washed over her, solidifying her choice, anchoring her to her identity even as the world around her twisted and shifted once more.

Just as the transition began, one last prompt appeared.

"{Do you wish to retain your memories?}"

Her breath caught.

This was her past—everything she had learned, every thought that made her her. If she kept them, she would still be Alex, even in this new life. If she chose otherwise, she'd lose it all, starting fresh with no recollection of this moment.

She stared at the glowing options.

Then, with steady resolve, she pressed "Yes."

"{Select when memories will return.}"

She considered it. If she regained them too early, it could be overwhelming. Too late, and she might live years without knowing who she truly was.

She exhaled, making her decision.

"Memories to return—inside the pod."

The moment she selected it, everything shifted.

Darkness.

A faint humming.

A gentle, rhythmic sound—something soothing, like the soft hum of machinery, the distant murmur of voices. A thin layer of warmth encased her, almost weightless.

Then, awareness flooded her mind.

She gasped.

Every thought, every memory, every ounce of her previous self rushed back at once. She wasn't just floating, she was alive, her consciousness fully returning, thoughts reorganizing, adapting to her new existence.

And then, she felt him.

Close. A presence she somehow recognized instinctively.

Her twin.

Kakarot.

Or, as history would later know him, Goku.

The pod hummed faintly, protecting them both, a tiny capsule drifting through the vast emptiness of space. They were together, two souls bound by fate, waiting for the moment their journey truly began.

And with that, her new life officially started.
