I awoke and jumped out of bed, I took a shower (which I have made with magic) and put on my clothes and did some meditation to hone my magic capacity. I go down stairs and talk to Kai and felicity about what I'm doing today, Kai says that he'll go into town this evening. I then head to the guild to get my license renewed! When I arrived I handed the receptionist my card and she told me to go to the appraisal room. When I entered the room a giant crystal ball sat in the center of the room, along with a mythical artifact known as an appraiser. The woman told me to imbue my mana into the crystal ball. When I did so shined greater than my original test at the original summon then the ball cracked and cracked until it shattered. She then wrote something down on her notepad and walked over to the appraiser, she motioned for me to come over. She used the appraiser and jotted down more notes. She then motioned for me to leave. Apparently I turned 17! Also the clerk told me about subclasses, apparently I have to talk to a patron god to get a subclass... After I was given my new guild card I head home but before I could make it home I heard a thundering noise from the woods. A black blur flashed across my vision. As it stops moving a colossus of a black horse with full plated armor, its rider a towering being in full black metal studded armor with a black spear the size of a pickup truck. It then speaks "THY HUMANS HAVE COMMITTED THY GREATEST ATROCITIES AGAINST THY GODS FOR THIS THOU SHALL DIE" as it says this it charges at me and right before he collides a flash of blue light blasts before me. When I look I see Kai impaled by the spear with his usual grin on his face blood spurts from the wound, "Masaki, the best times were in this world with you and felicity, I really wished I could've lived longer... I could've fallen in love... I could've started a family... I could've empowered so many people to be the best versions of themselves... But I'll throw that all away to save you... Take care of felicity for m-" the knight cuts him in half with his spear I see him lying lifeless on the side walk with a smile on his face and a thumbs up on his hand. The snow started to fall... the knight charges again and stabs me. I didn't feel it. He stabs me again. He stabs and stabs and stabs. I remember my vision going dark and when I regained consciousness the knight was mutilated on the ground the horse lying limply on the ground and the spear stabbed into the knight. Kai still lying where I remembered and it finally hit me. I cried. I cried until I ran out of tears. Then I walk over to his lifeless body and cast the only resurrection spell I know. I sniff a little then shout "G-GREAT RESURRECTION OF THE UNDEAD KING" I see hundreds of souls from across the world not all human combine into one. The souls create a ball of a constantly changing and evolving light and slowly descends onto Kai. Kai lays there Motionless. No effect. I failed. I used to much mana. I use the rest of my mana to heal my wounds to the best of my abilities and I fall unconscious.
