Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Agent 002

In the northern part of the Nikko Forest, a clash between foreign terrorists and the Japanese government army is currently taking place. The forest, which should have been quiet, is now filled with the sound of rain and hurried footsteps of people.

"When will support arrive?" A squad leader turned to ask.

"Report! The headquarters has dispatched their best agents, but it will take at least more than a day for them to get here. Furthermore, even if they get here, they will have to face the enemy encirclement. So it will take at least three days for them to reach us!"

"Damn it! We don't have that much time! Report the situation on our side."

"Four people are seriously injured, one person just died, nine people are slightly injured. We only have enough ammunition and food for two days. I suggest we retreat deep inside the third base to defend."

"Fools, their intention is to force us in there to make it easier to destroy us. Because we are more familiar with the terrain here, they are still hesitant to attack and only surround and wear us down. If we retreat deep inside now, there will be no way out." The captain said angrily.

"Then what should we do?" The soldier asked with a slightly trembling voice.

"Try to rest, they are being cautious right now, so we should also take the opportunity to recover. Let's try to find another way while waiting for reinforcements." The captain said helplessly and turned around to leave. He went straight into the tent where the soldiers were resting, where a special person was also resting.

"Congressman, is your injury better?" The captain asked.

A man who was resting with a not-so-rosy face heard this and immediately smiled and replied: "I'm fine, go check on the others. Sorry for getting everyone involved."

"If we can get through this ordeal, I promise to donate half of my assets to the relief fund." The congressman said half-jokingly.

"You don't need to say that, escorting you is our responsibility." The captain quickly said politely. Even though they were injured, the two of them still chatted for a bit before the captain left.

"Captain!!!" As soon as he stepped out, a soldier ran over with a panicked expression.

"What's going on?"

"The enemy… is showing signs of attack!" The soldier also reported in a panic.

"What?!! How many? Which direction?"

"According to the intelligence, there are about 40 people, fully equipped. They moved towards the western cliff. After approaching us for about 200 meters, they split into two directions, and are still advancing."

"Damn it! We have less than 30 people now. But what can we do now… Quickly gather those who are still able to fight!" The captain said and then hurriedly ran to prepare.

"Yes." The soldiers, although tired, immediately put on their full equipment when they heard the order to assemble, and were ready to fight.

"Listen up, don't be greedy for battle. Just try to stop the enemy's advance, we still have to preserve our defensive strategy, just try to hold out until reinforcements arrive. Anyone who is injured, retreat immediately. Everyone, get into position!"

"Yes, sir!"

The soldiers immediately took up positions, waiting for the enemy. When both sides were within range, the battle immediately broke out! Gunfire rang out continuously, blood was everywhere, and some people had to lie down in this dark sacred forest. After more than two hours of fighting, both sides chose to retreat. The enemy side had lost more than 20 people while the Japanese army only had about ten people with minor injuries, one person with serious injuries.

This was considered a miracle.

"This wave is considered to be over, but they have completed their goal of probing us. From now on, the attacks will begin, everyone must be mentally prepared. Sacrifice is inevitable!" The captain said in a heavy voice, he himself was also seriously injured, the rest were either injured or mentally exhausted. By nightfall, there had been no attacks, but everyone was still in a state of extreme tension.

"Strange! Shouldn't they be here?" A patrol soldier wondered.

"Who knows, but it's good that they're not here. I haven't slept in over two days," another replied.

"I'll have to rest for a while after this."

While the two soldiers were chatting, a gunshot suddenly rang out, startling them. One of them managed to dodge it but was still wounded in the arm.

"Damn, it's here just as you mentioned it." The other soldier stepped forward to help his comrade and quickly returned to the barracks to report the news. When they heard the news, everyone seemed to wake up from their fatigue. They quickly got into their pre-assigned positions, waiting for the target to appear.

But then one minute... five minutes... ten minutes passed and there was still no further action. While everyone was still wondering, a person came out from the dark forest, everyone immediately raised their guns to be alert.

"Calm down, I am the support person sent here." The person walked closer and closer, everyone could see the person's figure more clearly, long black hair, wearing a mask but from the voice, it could be recognized that this person was a woman. Especially that person's whole body was covered in blood, making everyone terrified.

The captain signaled to lower the gun, and asked: "Are you the agent sent here?"

The person nodded.

"Impossible, wasn't it announced that it would take at least three days?" The captain continued to ask anxiously.

"I came here by helicopter and then moved to the vicinity of this forest as quickly as possible."

"How many people are there?"

"Just me," the person answered naturally but made the listener stunned.

"Are you kidding? Why are you alone? How do you plan to break through the enemy encirclement? Not to mention there are people here who are seriously injured and cannot move." The captain seemed to be unable to control his emotions because they had been suppressed for the past few days, so he continuously shouted at the agent.

"You don't need to worry, the enemy has been completely destroyed! Everyone just move along the normal route." The agent replied with a piece of information that made everyone stunned again.

"You said, the enemy has been completely destroyed?" The captain asked in surprise.

The person nodded.

"Just you?"

The person still nodded.

"Impossible!" The captain was stunned for a few seconds before immediately denying it.

As if he had guessed the captain's denial, the agent gently took a bag from behind his back and threw it forward. When the bag fell to the ground, it revealed what was inside.

"This is...." The team leader's face turned pale when he saw that thing.

"This is the head of the enemy commander. This should be enough proof, right? Quickly clean up and move, I will escort everyone until we get out of this forest." The agent finished speaking and turned around to leave.

"Team leader.... what should we do now?" A soldier asked.

"Ha, what else should we do? They have brought the head of the enemy commander, should we still be suspicious? Quickly clean up." Everyone nodded and started to clean up after hearing that.

The whole team started to move quickly despite being very tired. When they reached the edge of the forest, they were shocked by the scene there, it was like hell with corpses scattered everywhere, blood dyed the grass and leaves red.

"This... did you do it?" The team leader walking next to him was also terrified when he saw this scene for the first time.

"Sorry, I tried to be as concise as possible."

"How did you take them all down? I didn't see any signs of grenades or explosives."

"A few small techniques," the agent replied vaguely.

"Oh, okay."

The conversation ended there. Everyone moved quickly and after an hour, they were out of the forest."Someone will come pick you up, my mission is over here." The agent said and turned to leave.

"Wait, can you tell me your name?" The team leader shouted loudly.

"Agents are not allowed to say their names, but my code name is 002."

"002… No wonder they're such monsters…" The team leader exclaimed. "002, I will remember this life-saving favor. I hope we can talk more in the future, I mean as friends."

"I have to do it." The agent nodded and left first by helicopter.

After the agent left, a new soldier crept up and asked. "Captain, which side did that agent belong to that he could be such a monster?"

The captain had a gloomy face, as if he was thinking about something, then replied: "Those agents are a very professional intelligence group, there are a total of ten members numbered from 1 to 10, the lower the number, the scarier it is, I myself did not expect to meet 002 right here."

"Huh… if number two is already so strong, then I wonder what number one is like…?" The soldier asked curiously.

"Don't make too much noise, let's go back quickly. No one knows if there will be any more terrorists on the way!" The captain said seriously.

"Ah, yes!"

The group continued to turn and leave, while the captain continued to look in the direction the agent had just left. "Thank you," he said absentmindedly and left.
