"By the way, you haven't been to the office in a while. Your old colleagues have really missed you. Now that you're back, we can meet anytime," Lily said, pulling Rachel further inside. "You're here now, so you should at least say hi to everyone."
Rachel shot a casual glance at Lily, fully aware of her intentions. Since she knew what was going on, she decided to face it head-on.
Avoiding it would only make her the subject of gossip.
"Sure, let's meet them," Rachel replied confidently.
Her attitude caught Lily off guard; it wasn't what she had expected at all.
As they entered the office, Lily clapped her hands to grab everyone's attention. "Everyone, look! Our former colleague Rachel is back to see us!"
Instantly, many eyes turned toward them. Rachel scanned the room and recognized some old colleagues, along with a few new faces she didn't know.
"Sister Quick, was this sister working here before? Where is she now?" a young new colleague asked.
