Chapter 232 - Chapter 232: Heading to the Land of Waves

"Done. Let's wrap this up."

"You're really bringing all these swords back?"

Nawaki had already gotten rid of his old paired swords and fastened Samehada to his back. He didn't care for the rest of them.

"Of course we are!"

"If you don't want them, others in the village can use them."

Minato was definitely the more pragmatic one compared to Nawaki.

He didn't particularly like the swords either, but he understood their value better.

"Yeah, fine. I'll do as you say."

Before Nawaki could issue orders, he saw the team already cleaning up the battlefield.

The corpses were sealed into special scrolls. Even if they brought them back, they wouldn't gain any useful intelligence.

Still, given that they belonged to the Seven Swords of the Bloody Mist, it counted as quite an accomplishment.

Finally, a few members arrived with five ninja swords beside Nawaki and Minato.

Lion and the other three had their wounds treated quickly by Nagato—at least they could move freely now.

"Senior apprentice, these guys look hideous, and their weapons are just plain weird."

Konan flung the Cleaver Sword disdainfully onto the ground before folding her wings and landing.

"Huh, I thought it was broken."

Minato just noticed that the Cleaver Sword had returned to its original condition.

Curiously, he picked it up and swung it around a bit. The sword was extremely heavy in hand, allowing only basic movements.

Using this sword skillfully would be very difficult.

Its ability to regenerate could only be considered amusing, not really significant.

After all, who would feel safe using a blade that constantly breaks?

"This is the Cleaver Sword's ability—it absorbs blood to repair itself."

"All seven swords were left behind by the First Mizukage."

"There's also a Summoning Scroll."

"I think it's better to seal them first before bringing them back to Konoha."

The leader of the Snow Clan stepped forward with a helpful reminder.

"What kind of sealing scroll?"

Nawaki didn't quite understand. Everyone turned their attention toward the clan leader.

As a native of Kirigakure, the clan leader naturally knew more than they did.

"More accurately, it's a Ninja Sword Summoning Scroll."

"No matter how far away, it can summon the swords back."

"It should still be kept by the Hōzuki Clan."

The clan leader didn't show off but simply shared what he knew.

"Really? That's possible?"

Nawaki widened his mouth in astonishment. Then his Samehada might disappear anytime!

He just got used to it—how regrettable it would be if he lost it so soon!

"Don't worry, Lord Nawaki."

"Your Samehada is an exception."

"It's a living sword that has chosen its master and cannot be summoned."

Sensing Nawaki's concern, the clan leader elaborated.

"That's reassuring. What a great sword!"

Relieved, Nawaki praised Samehada again.

Samehada joyfully nuzzled Nawaki's cheek with its hilt.

"A sword acting this human-like..."

Even having seen it before, Minato couldn't help but exclaim in amazement.

"Other than being a little ugly, nothing else is wrong."

Samehada's appearance indeed made Konan rather unimpressed. She much preferred her teacher's swords.

"Who'll handle the sealing?"

Lion interrupted their chat. It would be unacceptable if the swords disappeared right in front of him.

The Anbu's spoils of war were never reclaimed before.

"Why're you all starin' at me?"

"Do I look like someone who's got a Contract Seal?"

Minato was utterly baffled. What was their problem? Did they really think he was?

He wasn't even married to Kushina yet, and his grasp on sealing techniques was still pretty shaky.

"You're always tagging along with Kushina, but what've you got to show for it?"

Nawaki had the nerve to tease Minato, conveniently forgetting that his own grandma was a sealing pro.

"Hehe~ What did you learn from Lady Mito?"

That one question from Minato left Nawaki completely speechless.

"Hahaha!"

Konan and the rest burst into laughter, not holding back at all. Watching them argue was practically their favorite hobby.

"What're you laughin' at? All that red hair growin' for nothing?"

Nawaki glared around and shifted his target to Nagato.

You don't know any Uzumaki sealing techniques? That's kinda embarrassing for you, isn't it?

"Um... Teacher never taught me."

Nagato weakly defended himself. He was still just a kid—why so much pressure?

"I can't rely on you guys; we'll miss our chance waiting for you!"

"Guess I'll have to step up then."

Nawaki thought of a solution.

He bit his finger open, formed some hand seals, then slammed his palm onto the ground.

Puff!

A massive serpent erupted through the smoke. On its midsection was a scroll marked with an eerie black-and-white pattern.

"Lord Nawaki."

The serpent spoke in human language—it was an elite breed from Ryūchi Cave, rare and possessing strong sealing abilities.

"U, please take these blades away."

Nawaki politely pointed toward five ninja swords piled together.

"My pleasure."

This functional summoned snake was quite polite too.

U unrolled the scroll on his back with his mouth. Intricate incantations covered its surface, radiating mysterious energy.

Then he bent low and scooped up all five blades, absorbing them into the scroll.

The five ninja swords transformed into five marks within the scroll—they'd been sealed.

"Alright, if there's nothing else, I'll be going now."

At Nawaki's nod, U disappeared in a puff of smoke.

"Quite convenient indeed."

Minato nearly drooled from envy. The Katsuyu Sage was great and all,

but she had her limits.

"That's right. I heard Teacher keeps a stock of food snakes."

"Next time I'll smuggle some out and share a bite with you."

Oh,,!

Nawaki winked playfully at Minato.

Those new breeds? Orochimaru raised 'em right.

He'd only tasted them a few times when Kawaki and Orochimaru got together.

They were freakin' delicious!

"Count me in! Count me in!"

Konan, a glutton at heart, eagerly reserved the next spot.

"Nobody misses out—we'll get 'em all. Even if I catch a beatin', who cares?"

Nawaki waved his hand broadly, making a grand decision that cost him nothing.

After all, Orochimaru wouldn't dare kill him. When that happened, he'd just hug his teacher's wife's legs real tight.

"Alright, we should evacuate now."

Cleanup was done, and there was no reason to stick around.

Minato signaled everyone to leave.

"Let's go."

Nawaki nodded in agreement.

It was still the two of them leading the group as the crowd made their noisy way toward the harbor.

The commotion they caused had already reached those waiting at the harbor.

But lacking in strength, they dared not get too close.

Now that the battle seemed over and all was quiet, they finally found the nerve to go check it out.

Spotting a large group rushing toward them, they immediately turned to run.

"It's our allies."

If Minato hadn't recognized the prearranged outfit and shouted out in time, the man would've jumped into the sea.

"You scared me half to death."

A middle-aged man clutched his chest, clearly still shaken.

"Sorry about that. We came on too strong."

Minato replied with a warm, reassuring smile.

"Sky King covers Earth Tiger!"

Still cautious, the middle-aged man spoke the agreed-upon code phrase.

"Mushroom-braised chicken."

Minato replied fluently. This response clearly bore the mark of his teacher's influence.

No doubt Sakumo Uncle had borrowed this one.

"Ichiro Aso of Konoha, Genin, reporting to all honored superiors."

The middle-aged man introduced himself formally while bowing deeply.

"Thank you for your hard work."

Minato nodded slightly. He didn't need to introduce himself.

"Let's go. For safety reasons."

"We'll head to the Land of Waves first and change ships there."

The middle-aged man led everyone onto the ship and briefly explained their next destination.

Minato and the others got it—changing ships for safety wasn't unusual.

Before long, the sailors took their positions and the ship slowly set sail.
