Out of the corner of his eye, Raiga caught a glimpse of two figures charging toward him. Without hesitation, he unsheathed his blade and vacated his position.
"Just let us have a couple of slices at you. Why bother wasting everyone's time?"
Nawaki, Samehada resting on his shoulder, wore an arrogant grin across his face.
Another classic psychological ploy—maybe this guy couldn't even fight without running his mouth.
"Why don't *you* let me swing at you a few times?"
Raiga's eye twitched in anger. Was this punk seriously talking like that?
"You got it! If you've got the guts, come get some!"
Nawaki happily accepted the challenge.
"That's going too far."
Raiga couldn't hold back any longer—it was simply outrageous how much they were pushing him.
"Lightning Release: Thunder Dragon Tornado!"
He swung his twin blades, summoning lightning that spiraled into a dragon-shaped bolt, hurtling straight at Nawaki.
"Already losing your cool? Don't you recognize what I'm holding?"
Nawaki swung Samehada, effortlessly absorbing Raiga's Thunder Dragon while replenishing his own chakra slightly.
"Damn it!"
Raiga became furious and immediately wanted to go all-out against Nawaki.
At that moment, Minato closed the distance. Barely dodging the critical strike in a daze, Raiga still took a huge wound across his chest.
"What are you messing around for?"
Nawaki couldn't help but complain—he had just wasted his performance.
Seeing this, Raiga realized immediately he'd been made a fool of.
"Oops, my bad."
Minato gave Nawaki an awkward smile.
"Get him."
Nawaki lifted Samehada off his shoulder, pointing it directly at Raiga.
[Lightning Armor Technique]
Realizing things had gone seriously wrong, Raiga quickly combined his twin blades together, covering his entire body in lightning as a defensive offense.
"Not bad. You kinda remind me of Brother-in-law."
Though shouting that his opponent resembled his brother-in-law, Nawaki showed no mercy with his attacks.
With just one strike, Samehada absorbed most of Raiga's lightning-based defense.
Samehada smacked its lips in satisfaction.
Minato landed the killing blow. Raiga died filled with regret.
As a member of the Seven Swords of the Bloody Mist, dying by the very sword he wielded—Samehada—was undoubtedly cruelly ironic.
"Not bad at all."
"Minato, do you think I could totally drain Brother-in-law dry?"
A terrifying yet tempting thought crossed Nawaki's mischievous mind.
Imagining Kawaki's bewildered look once his chakra was fully drained, Nawaki couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"I'll support you morally."
"The sun hasn't even set yet."
Minato replied briefly after a moment's thought before hurrying over to Konan and Yahiko.
This guy might lose his head—but Minato wasn't going to be dragged down with him.
If he ever said Minato came up with such a terrible idea, that would be a complete injustice.
Just remembering those days under Kawaki's rule made him shudder.
Kawaki might not have been a teacher, but when he fought—he fought for real!
"Aww, c'mon! Why the rush?"
Nawaki chased right behind Minato.
Four of the Seven Swords had already fallen.
Konan and Yahiko were locked in battle with Jinton Guren, the battlefield continuously erupted with explosions.
The explosions were relentless.
Konan's Dance of the Shikigami shielded her from harm, but her attacks did little against Jinton Guren.
After taking a direct hit, Yahiko wised up and switched to long-range Water Release techniques.
However, the effect was underwhelming. Nearly all shinobi from Kirigakure were proficient in Water Release.
Jinton Guren was a master of Water Release, making Yahiko's attempts with the same nature seem futile.
The three continued to circle one another cautiously. If this dragged on, Jinton Guren seemed likely to come out on top.
After all, his chakra reserves far exceeded those of both Yahiko and Konan.
"Senpai, Nawaki."
Konan dodged the blast, her paper fragments quickly reassembling in front of Minato and Nawaki.
"Alright, leave it to us," said Nawaki.
Nawaki and Minato rushed past Konan. Jinton Guren eyed them warily but completely ignored Yahiko.
"Will you fight us yourself," Nawaki asked again with verbal jabs, "or do we have to start without you?"
Minato smiled and shook his head. This guy had gotten addicted to talking trash.
"Cut the chatter."
Jinton Guren was still brave enough to charge forward despite knowing he might be outmatched.
He brandished his Kubikiribōchō, covered in explosive tags, and swung the blade toward Nawaki.
Nawaki instinctively raised Samehada to block, triggering a chain reaction of explosions.
The explosive damage was indeed blocked by Samehada's massive body, but these weren't chakra-based attacks.
Unable to absorb the blasts, Samehada experienced intense pain and burning.
Samehada extended its hilt and gave Nawaki's head two sharp knocks in protest.
It was eerily human-like.
"Sorry, won't happen again," Nawaki said awkwardly, scratching his head while channeling chakra into Samehada to help it recover. Only then did the weapon calm down.
Meanwhile, Minato seized the opportunity to attack. He had no intention of going head-to-head with the Kubikiribōchō.
Once enough explosive tags built up, the damage could be devastating.
Using his incredible agility, Minato darted around Jinton Guren, landing several cuts on him with just himself fighting.
Jinton Guren kept missing over and over, leaving craters in the ground with every wild swing.
Driven by pain, his frustration boiled over, and his attack speed quickened.
[Explosive Severance Blade Technique!]
Seeing Nawaki rejoin the battle, Jinton Guren violently swung his blade, sending scrolls attached to the Kubikiribōchō flying.
They unfurled midair, creating an encirclement around Nawaki and Minato before detonating.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion erupted across the battlefield as Jinton Guren sneered coldly.
As the smoke cleared, the explosion zone now held a deep crater large enough to fit several people.
Inside stood nothing but scorched earth.
Huh?!

"What're you grinning at?"
Minato grabbed Nawaki's arm and appeared near Jinton Guren. Without the Flying Thunder God Technique, the two might've been seriously injured.
"How is this possible?!"
Shock widened Jinton Guren's eyes.
"You're just ignorant, so die for me right here!"
Nawaki finally snapped—no one could stay calm after that kind of blast.
Holding the massive Samehada, which felt practically weightless in his hands, he swung it casually.
Soon after, Jinton Guren got hit. His already low chakra finally ran dry.
Unable to perform even his final killing move, he collapsed onto his knees, exhausted and falling forward.
Nawaki hand down his blade, cleaving Jinton Guren's body in half.
Only two members of the Seven Swords of the Bloody Mist remained.
The Lion and his two companions were at a disadvantage under attack from Jinin Akebino and Kushimaru Kuriarare.
They recognized Nara's Shadow Binding Jutsu and remained wary after its first attempt failed.
The Lion's paired swords had already been severed by Kabutowari, and the long blade needle left multiple wounds on the trio.
If not for their caution against Genjutsu, one of Lion's group might have already fallen.
Nawaki, still filled with residual anger, joined the battle, while Minato retrieved all his scattered kunai.
The situation instantly became a five-against-two fight.
The outcome was never in doubt.
Jinin Akebino lost his composure, got caught in the Shadow Binding Jutsu, and was beheaded in one slash by Nawaki.
Kabutowari dropped to the ground along with his head—its axe was linked by a chain to a hammer behind it. Nawaki was at a loss for words regarding its bizarre design.
Kushimaru attempted to set traps using steel wires around his own body, but before he could activate them, Minato approached him using the [Flying Thunder God] technique.
A Rasengan pierced straight through his heart—he was unquestionably dead.
Thus, the Seven Swords of the Bloody Mist were Annihilated.
