Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Both of them...they were under a strong influence. Callum believed that if he did his job, he would be given great power. Ryoth wouldn't give his power to anyone...only transfer it to his offspring. Even then, they won't be able to use anyone until they need them to.

Callith and Callum headed to the local police station. There would most likely be a room with files of cases...those would tell them where to go. Callith had many doubts about this being a good thing. He felt that what he was doing wouldn't work out for him or Callum.

"What's wrong, C? Keep your head in the game, we have a job to do," Callum said.

"Are you sure what we are doing will be good...for the better?" Callith replied.

"Listen! This isn't good for them...it's good for us. Tell me. What are your thoughts about humanity? If you think for one second that they deserve to continue living on the planet, look around us, Callith. This world is already destroyed, and they haven't stopped destroying the planet for years since the last revolution. Not sure what one that was, but they all need to be wiped out. They won't survive another hundred years," Callum said.

"I don't want to hurt anyone anymore, I just want to live a normal life, one where I can be within nature! I don't care if humanity won't survive much longer, I want to use the remainder of time to live," Callith said.

"You call this living? Listen here! If you aren't on the same page as your father! Then I will kill you myself, you can't go against him, whether you want to or not! We are under his control, we fear him. Let's go do our job now, I don't want any more rebellious talk," Callum said while walking away.

"Maybe you fear him...But I am under no one's control," Callith said under his breath.

Both broke into the station, causing the alarms and gunfire to start. Both of them silenced the place. Dead cops, their fates couldn't be erased. One remained restrained by Callum.

"Please, whatever you want, I-I can give it to you, just don't kill me," Said the officer.

"We want to know where Cain Franklin is. Tell us, and I will grant you a quick death," Callum said.

"T-that was like twenty years ago, I don't know where he is right now, he could be in prison still, or he could be dead." The officer replied.

"Then tell me where you think he is..." Callum said.

"At the WV corentional center - The closest one from here," The officer said.

"And where are the other ones? The ones he worked with?" Callum said.

"Most of them were executed for other criminal charges. There are only two other members left," The officer said.

Callum lifted the blade in the air. He looks down at the victim. "Thanks for your cooperation, I no longer need you." He lowers the scythe, cutting his head off. He went into the file rooms to find something on Cain, and he pulled out his case sheet, took it with him, and left.

"We are monsters," Callith said.

They both head to the prison to find Cain and the other old cultist members.

When they arrived, the outside was already full of police cars and trucks driving the street to find them after receiving the police department's emergency alert. This worked in their favor as the place would be less guarded, as many units were not even there at the time.

Both of them broke into the halls, checking each cell to find him. This continued unit they found Cain, who was old and weak. Both found his cell number in the files and opened the door. Callum walked in, kneeling to his level.

"Hey! You are coming with us, your fate has been decided...and it's a sacrifice," Callum said.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Cain said.

"You don't recognize us? Those weak children you held and submerged them in a tub of blood. I want to go back to those days, they were so nice." Callum said, his voice calm but off-putting.

"You...his children have grown and come to kill me. What have I done wrong to him to deserve this?" Cain said.

"Well, thanks to you, our other brother isn't as corrupt as we are, not that it's just the two of us. Ryoth will be so thankful that your life was given to set him free," Callum said.

"I am sorry what has to happen to you, Cain, but it just isn't our decision," Callith said.

"Wait, I can finish this! If you let me live, I will finish corrupting him. You just need to bring him to me..." Cain said.

"You can't finish it, it's too late already. And even if you did, you would go right back here; this isn't a life worth living, you don't have a choice but to come with me." Callum said, picking him up and carrying him back to the altar.

"Put me down, I want to live," Cain pleaded.

They took him there. Callum dropped Cain in front of the altar, resting his head on it. He lifts the blade of the scythe over his neck, getting ready to behead him. He tried to move, but Callum pinned him in place.

"Do it...now! I want to get freed soon," Ryoth said through the air.

"Wait, I didn't mean to fail you, lord, I can change this if you give me ano..." Cain was cut off.

"Silence...you will not be dying in my honor! I will use your spirit to break free of this prison. Kill him, Callum!" Said Ryoth.

Callum lowered the blade, severing his head from his body. Cain's spirit releases from his body, smashing open the gateway even more. The shift in the air gets intense as it gets colder.

"Yes, I can smell this rotten world. I need more souls. Leon's spirit will do the job. Just get it over with," Said Ryoth.

"I better head back to that hellhole, he is probably still alive somehow. I just want to make this quick for him, not painful. Leon has suffered too much already...I know it." Callith said.

"No, we let him come to us, if there is anything I know about us, we are stronger and braver than they man. He is on his way here right now...I know it," Callum said as he stared into the distance.
