Chapter 27 - The CEO's Dilemma

Jack steps into the upscale restaurant where the CEO of the convenience store chain, Leonard Hall, is waiting. The man looks haggard, dark circles under his eyes, and a forced smile on his face. Jack knows that look – desperation.

"Jack Carter," Leonard says, extending a shaky hand. "Thanks for meeting me."

Jack shakes his hand firmly, maintaining eye contact. "I hear you're in a bit of trouble, Leonard."

Leonard chuckles nervously. "A bit? That's an understatement. The board is ready to sell the company's assets piece by piece to pay off our debts. If we don't secure funding soon, we're finished."

Jack leans forward, his gaze piercing. "I can help you, Leonard. But I want 51% of the company."

Leonard's eyes widen. "51%? That's... that's a controlling stake!"

Jack smirks. "Exactly. I'll clear your debts, modernize your infrastructure, and integrate the payment processing systems from my tech startup. Together, we can dominate the retail sector."

Leonard swallows hard, sweat beading on his forehead. "If I agree... what happens to me?"

Jack's expression softens, but his voice remains firm. "You stay on as CEO. But every decision goes through me. You get to save face, keep your position, and we both make a lot of money."

Leonard looks down, his fists clenched. "Fine. You've got a deal."

Jack rises, extending his hand again. "You made the right choice. Now, let's get to work."

As Jack walks away, the system chimes in:
