Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

"Let's go!" Jasmine insisted, pulling Ethan back inside with determination. With a stern expression, Jasmine slammed her hand on the desk. "Hey! Didn't you just say there were no standard rooms available? How did that person get a key then? Where's your manager? I want to file a complaint!" Jasmine's sudden return with Ethan and her outburst left the pretty receptionist stunned.

"What did you just say?" "I said you just claimed there were no standard rooms! So how did that poor guy manage to get a room key? You're lying to us! Get your manager over here!" Jasmine was furious.

It was outrageous that they had clearly had standard rooms available, yet she was told otherwise. She was determined to make sure this employee faced the consequences!

"Get your manager out here!" Ethan's expression had turned cold as well. As a member of the hotel, he couldn't just let himself be toyed with by a front desk clerk. The receptionist sighed, "I'm sorry, but we truly don't have any standard rooms left. The person you mentioned was actually checking into the presidential suite!"

"What? The presidential suite?" Jasmine exclaimed in disbelief.

"You're still trying to deceive us! That poor guy couldn't possibly afford a presidential suite! You must be lying to cover up your earlier mistake! Get your manager over here!" Ethan's face darkened.

"Yeah, hurry up! How could that guy afford a presidential suite?" Jasmine added angrily. The receptionist felt genuinely helpless.

When she saw Ryan Thompson walk in wearing cheap clothes, she thought he couldn't afford anything. But then he pulled out a wad of cash worth ten thousand dollars, leaving her shocked!

She had no choice but to call the manager over the intercom. Soon, Mr. Luca, dressed in a professional suit, approached with a smile. "Hello, how can I assist you both today?"

"I want to file a complaint against her! She deceived us as customers! There were clearly standard rooms available, yet she said there weren't! But she just gave a room key to someone else!" Jasmine stated coldly.

"Right! How can you treat us members like this? Is this how your hotel operates?" Ethan added, his tone filled with arrogance. The beautiful receptionist rolled her eyes in exasperation. Just because she couldn't afford it, did she think no one else could?

Mr. Luca's expression changed. "Please wait a moment! Let me check!" He walked to the front desk and looked at the computer, then said, "I'm sorry, but we don't have any standard rooms left. The guest who just checked in took the presidential suite!"

"What?" Jasmine's face fell again!

"How could that loser afford a presidential suite?" Ethan exclaimed, knowing that his monthly living expenses were already a thousand dollars. He wouldn't even consider booking that room.

"Weren't you the one who said he found some money? Maybe it wasn't just five thousand, but Fifty thousand?" Ethan speculated.

"Maybe!" Jasmine felt a pang of envy. That loser found fifty grand? What kind of luck was that? Where else would he get the money to book a presidential suite? "This Ryan Thompson really knows how to show off.

He finds fifty thousand and spends over thirty thousand on a room. He must really know how to live," Jasmine said with a hint of disdain.

"Losers will always be losers. They think they're big Connect to the internet shots with a little money. Fifty thousand is just what my dad makes in three days. He wouldn't book a presidential suite, and this guy, just because he got lucky, thinks he can? That's hilarious," Ethan mocked.

"Exactly, he's just a complete loser," Jasmine scoffed. "Do you two need anything else?" Mr. Lucas asked with a smile.

"No, we're good." Jasmine waved her hand, pulling Ethan aside. Just then, she spotted Ryan Thompson stepping out of the elevator. She whispered, "Doesn't that loser love to show off? Why don't we just invite him to dinner? He loves to flaunt, and if we mention it, he definitely won't refuse."

"That's a great idea! I haven't had dinner yet," Ethan chuckled. Jasmine smiled and called out, "Hey, Ryan Thompson!" Hearing the call, Ryan Thompson paused in surprise.

The two people were still here? He walked over, puzzled. "What are you up to?" Ryan asked.

"I'm hungry, planning to grab a bite," Ryan replied. "Grab a bite?" Jasmine thought to herself, wondering if he was planning to eat some fast food. She cleared her throat and said seriously, "Ryan Thompson, you should at least thank me for lending you money."

"Of course," Ryan smiled. If it weren't for Jasmine's five hundred bucks, he wouldn't have made it through this week, even with the interest.

Gotcha!

Just as I thought! Jasmine smirked internally. She smiled and said, "My boyfriend and I haven't eaten yet, so why don't you treat us to dinner at this hotel?"

"Sure thing," Ryan nodded. Jasmine exchanged glances with Ethan. They both remembered their last meal here; just a few dishes had cost them eight hundred. With three people, it would easily be three thousand. Was Ryan really that generous? He really loves to show off!

"Thanks a lot! I'm so hungry," Jasmine said cheerfully, pulling Ethan toward the hotel restaurant.

Ryan followed behind. When they arrived at the restaurant, Ryan realized he had never been to a place like this before. The three of them sat down, and a waiter came over with the menu."Good evening, everyone! We have special set meals available, including drinks. This is our set, only 800!" The waiter recommended, noticing they were all students.

"A set meal? I don't want that; they usually taste terrible," Jasmine shook her head. "Me neither," Ethan added.

"How about ordering something else? If you want to thank me, you wouldn't want to shortchange me, right?" Jasmine smiled at Ryan Thompson. "Sure, order whatever you want," Ryan replied nonchalantly.

"Order whatever you want? How much do you think you can just throw around?" Jasmine rolled her eyes, and Ethan couldn't help but smirk at the situation.

Show off, will you? Jasmine smiled sweetly, "Then I'll get this, this, and this!" Jasmine ordered three dishes, while Ethan chose two. "Are you sure you want to order this much?" The server's expression changed. These were all specialty dishes, and the total would be over five thousand!

And they were all students!

"Absolutely," Jasmine insisted with a smile. "Yeah, let's go with that," Ryan agreed without hesitation. The server glanced at Ryan, feeling a bit sorry for him. Was he about to get taken advantage of by his friends?

After the server left, Jasmine and Ethan exchanged excited looks. It had been a while since they'd had a feast. Jasmine felt great inside, while she imagined Ryan was probably regretting his decision.

Soon, the dishes arrived, and there were so many that the three of them might not finish it all. Jasmine picked up a piece of beef and popped it into her mouth, her mischievous side coming out again. "Ryan, look at all this food; we can't possibly finish it all. How about | call a few friends over? It'll be more lively with more people." She had mentioned inviting some girlfriends last time, and this was the perfect opportunity to make it

happen.

"Sure," Ryan nodded. "It might get a bit crowded, and we might need to order a few more dishes, is that okay?" Jasmine asked tentatively, maintaining her composure. Still trying to play it cool, huh?

"Yeah," Ryan nodded again. "What an idiot!" Ethan scoffed, continuing to eat. Ryan immediately smiled and pulled out her phone to text a few friends, urging them to come over quickly.

"Who's treating?" Jasmine's friend, Sophia, messaged back.

"There's a big spender here, so just bring your boyfriends along. He wants to show off, and we need to play along, right?" Jasmine replied with a smirk.

"Who's showing off?" another friend, Evelyn, asked.

"You wouldn't know him, Ryan Thompson!" "That guy? The broke loser? Does he even have money to throw around?" Sophia questioned.

"This guy got lucky and found a lot of cash!" Jasmine replied. "Alright, we're on our way!" both Evelyn and Sophia texted back. In less than five minutes, the two beauties arrived

with unfamiliar boyfriends.

Ryan only recognized one of the girls, while he didn't know the other two guys at all. Jasmine exchanged glances with them, and Sophia immediately called the waiter over to order.

The four of them took turns ordering five dishes, all expensive ones, racking up a bill of nearly six thousand. Jasmine couldn't help but chuckle to herself, thinking, "That's almost eight thousand! Ryan must be feeling the pinch!" The food arrived quickly, and none of them spoke to Ryan.

They laughed and joked among themselves, completely treating him as an outsider. Once Ryan had eaten enough, he called the waiter over. "Hello, your total comes to twelve thousand!" the waiter said.

She felt a bit sorry for Ryan, noticing his cheap clothes and wondering how he could afford such a hefty bill. Jasmine, Ethan, and the others all turned to look at Ryan.

Jasmine was practically bursting with joy, thinking, "Let's see if you still want to show off!" Ryan pulled out fifteen thousand in cash from his bag. Jasmine's eyes widened in shock. He really did find fifty thousand!

How could this guy be so lucky? Ethan felt a twinge of jealousy, but thought, "No matter how lucky you are, l'll make sure you pay for it all today!" Ryan handed one thousand to the waiter and didn't touch the rest of the money.

Jasmine's expression changed. What did that mean? Was it not enough? Ethan and the others exchanged puzzled glances. "Hello, sir, this isn't enough," the waiter said

helplessly.

"Exactly, it's twelve thousand. You should give eleven thousand," Jasmine chimed in. "That's right, but you lent me the money, so it's normal for me to treat you to dinner as a thank you. The others, I don't know them. Why should it matter to me?" Ryan Thompson shook his head.
