Selina's eyes narrowed, cutting toward Felix. "Your son crossed the line. It wasn't my fault things turned out badly for him."
Felix stepped closer, glaring. "Apologize, or you'll regret it."
"I won't," Selina said evenly. "Now, if you'll excuse me." She turned away without another word.
Both mother and son froze, frowns deepening at her retreating figure.
"I don't like that girl's spirit," Stella muttered.
Felix paced restlessly, unease simmering deep in his core. His face turned sour.
"I was furious when Grandfather agreed to Zane and Clarissa's alliance—and when that fell apart, I was happy. But boom! He still approved of Zane's marriage to this woman. The one carrying his child." His voice rose with scorn.
He remembered he had to end his party midway when his mother stormed to the pool late at night to deliver the complete story.
