Chapter 228 - Chapter 228: Strategy and Advance

The group found Ichiya in the restroom after his assault by Angel.

Despite his flamboyant behavior, Ichiya truly was a capable wizard—even Erza had acknowledged that. Thanks to his pain-relieving aroma magic, he had managed to recover surprisingly quickly, even after sustaining serious injuries, and the strategy meeting resumed.

Standing amidst the villa's ruins, Jura spoke up: "You mentioned that the Oración Seis are after Nirvana. What exactly is it?"

Charles answered, "Nirvana is an ancient forbidden magic, said to possess the ability to switch light and darkness. The Oración Seis must have somehow discovered where it's hidden and now want to unseal it to carry out their ambitions."

Hibiki activated his Archive Magic, projecting information stored in his memory for everyone to see.

"Charles is right. According to our intel, Nirvana lies within the forest ahead. Due to the influence of its magic, a large section of the forest has already begun to change."

Everyone looked at the image of the darkened forest. Lucy frowned. "It looks so disgusting! We absolutely can't let them get their hands on that magic."

Charles didn't comment. To be honest, he found Nirvana quite interesting.

In ancient times, the neutral race known as the Nirbitt converted their entire city into a giant magical circuit to maintain world balance. Unfortunately, something went wrong, and Nirvana spiraled out of control. The Nirbitt had no choice but to seal it.

Every person contains both good and evil; it's just that one side is often more dominant externally.

In its initial phase, Nirvana could only affect those wavering between the two sides—causing righteous individuals harboring negative emotions to fall into darkness. Conversely, those with a shred of good in their hearts, even if wicked, would be drawn toward the light. For example, Hoteye of the Oración Seis, who had committed evil in search of his brother, turned over a new leaf once Nirvana activated.

People like Lucy or Gray, who lacked strong negative emotions, would remain unaffected in its early stages.

But the most terrifying version was the fully unsealed Nirvana, which allowed its user to control this switch at will.

Charles had to admit that Brain's worldview wasn't small. He understood that the strength of official guilds came from their unity and trust—something Nirvana could completely destroy. Of course, Charles wasn't about to let him succeed.

Hibiki continued, "Because Ichiya's memory was copied, our previous operation plan has been fully exposed. We need a new one."

Suddenly, Natsu chimed in: "A plan? Just charge in and beat those six down! That snake-riding freak—I'll definitely beat him this time!"

In their last encounter, Natsu had gone one-on-one with Cobra, but since Cobra could read his every intention, he was thoroughly outmatched. After Oración Seis retreated, Cobra left riding his snake, Cuberos.

This was classic storytelling: the hero gets beaten in the first round, then returns for a rematch to achieve a satisfying victory.

Charles rubbed his chin. "While Natsu's a bit reckless, he does have a point. Plans tend to go awry. Sometimes it's better to just hit them head-on."

"If Charles says so, what are we waiting for?!"

Natsu was already spitting flames and about to dash off, but Charles grabbed his scarf and yanked him back.

"Let me finish, you hothead! Even if you rush out now, do you know where to find them?"

Natsu froze mid-motion and looked back, bewildered. "So what do we do?"

Charles let go and turned to the members of Blue Pegasus. "Do you guys have any intel on where Nirvana's sealed?"

Hibiki nodded. "We only have a general area."

"That's good enough. Since their goal is Nirvana, we'll just wait for them there."

"Well said," Jura agreed. "They'll definitely show up there."

Then Ichiya, still bleeding from his forehead, declared dramatically, "No need to make it so troublesome, men!"

Charles looked at him. "Oh? So what's your plan?"

Unbothered by his injuries, Ichiya spun theatrically. "Of course, we'll use Blue Pegasus's secret weapon, men!"

Just then, a shadow passed over the group from above.

"The Blue Pegasus Magic Bomber—Christina!"

It was a flying ship in the shape of a Pegasus. As it flew overhead, its massive silhouette darkened the entire area below.

Charles could sense the immense magic power radiating from its propulsion core.

Ichiya announced confidently, "Our original plan was to lure the Oración Seis to one location and then bombard them with Christina! This time, we'll use Christina to bomb the Nirvana site and draw them out!"

It was actually a solid plan. Christina wasn't just a flying vessel—it was equipped with magical cannons capable of powerful bombardments.

Still, Charles had his doubts. Large airborne objects like this usually ended up crashing. He wouldn't call it anything other than an aerial grave.

In fact, in the original storyline, Christina was shot down during its first mission—this very campaign against the Oración Seis.

Its only real moment of glory was when it later rammed Acnologia into a time rift.

More often than not, this so-called "bomber" served more as transportation.

Sure enough, before Ichiya could even finish his boasting, the middle of Christina exploded violently. The airship split in half and plummeted from the sky.

Charles wasn't the least bit surprised. Since Oración Seis already knew their previous plans, it was no surprise they sabotaged the ship.

As the members of Blue Pegasus stood slack-jawed, Charles spoke calmly, "Looks like we'll have to go with the dumb method."

Blue Pegasus had been so confident before, mainly because of Christina. Now, they had nothing to say.

Natsu, on the other hand, was thrilled—he didn't have to ride that thing anymore.

Erza gripped her sword and said firmly, "No more talk—we'll bring down Oración Seis together!"

Flames ignited around Natsu. "I'm already fired up!"

Jura, along with Leo and Sherry, added, "We won't be left behind!"

Wendy had never experienced something like this before, but her cheeks flushed with excitement.

Seeing their morale, Charles nodded with satisfaction. "No need to say more. Let's move out!"

To reduce risk, the four guilds advanced separately but kept within range to assist each other when needed.

Charles, of course, wouldn't allow Wendy to go alone, so he pulled her into Fairy Tail's group to travel together.

Thus, the campaign to bring down the Oración Seis officially began.
