Chapter 3 - The Culprit Arrives

"Julius B.C Bequillia the Third!"

The Emperor's roar was like a dragon's that was disturbed from its slumber. Many swore they heard it, right from the palace's in-between zone.

The palace had three main zones: the outer zone, the In-Between zone and the Inner zone. To visualize these zones, one must thing of three rings of varying sizes, with the smallest at the center and the largest enclosing the other two rings.

All Royals lived in the Inner zones, while the grand hall and audience buildings were within the In-Between Zone. The Outer zone had most guard facilities and courtyards for training, stables, servant habitation and whatnot.

The grand palace of Etratis was a spectacle that could cause many to subconsciously kneel in awe by its magnificence.

One must not underestimate how crazily huge the palace's landmass was. So for many to hear Altec's screams all the way from the inner and outer zones, meant his majesty was truly using all his lung capacity to unleash his fury.

In the end, all many could hear were the scary roars of a voice that didn't seem human, calling out a single person's name—Julius Bequillia—the sixth prince, a well known Dandy in the Dynasty, who spent most of his times in the brothels, gambling dens, taverns and Spirit homes.

----------------

(**Spirit homes/shop were similar to bars.**)

---------------

Everyone who heard his Majesty's ear-piercing cries could only wonder what the sixth prince has done this time.

Julius could only sigh after watching two men clad in black appearing out of thin air with thick ropes on their shoulders.

"Brothers, would you believe it if I said he was setup?"

"—"

Before Julius could blink, the men in black had already wrapped him like a Christmas pig, before holding both ends of the rope and carrying up like a pig on a stake.

The emperor said to drag him over, but they will only do so when they were close enough to the palace. No matter how useless Prince Julius was, he was after all, a prince carrying the dragon emperor's blood in him.

(**There are no dragons. The emperor was referred to as a Dragon emperor because from ancient folktales, Dragons were the most powerful beings who stood above the masses.**)

~Plop!

Julius felt the pain in his soft tooshie after the guards dropped him in the grand hall before his father and lead officials. Everyone looked at him with pique interest and curiously, wondering what the Capital's famous Dandy did this time.

Heh.

No one took Julius serious as a prince.

Altec looked at the annoying face 13-year-old boy and wished he could strangle him to death. What was so irking was that this boy had no fear of his wrath compared to the other princes. "Kneel!"

Julius continued to sit on his tooshie, shrugging his shoulders in defeat as if to say he was out of options.

Kneel? You must be joking.

"Father, its not that I don't want to kneel, but your son's hands and feet are tied."

Even if they weren't, he wasn't going to kneel so easily. As a 21st century person who has never knelt before anyone except his ancestors in the grave, he was still getting used to the idea of kneeling at every turn.

Yup! Julius was a person who died and got reborn into this strange Dynasty that never appeared in the history books before.

"Father, your son's hands and feet are bound. So do you want me to squirm like a worm in just to find my way to a kneeling position? How can you bare to see your dragon son disgrace so?"

The corners of Altec's lips twitched, "So after all the troubles you've caused, you too know disgrace?"

"Eh? Of course, father… Why are you along such an obvious question?" Julius had a face that made Altec want to punch him in the face.

Pfft~

A few people held in their laughter, although they couldn't stop their shoulders from shaking. Only the third prince could talk and make the emperor like this.

"You-you-you-you!" Emperor Altec was so tongue-tied that he could only point his trembling fingers at Julius. "Is this the point? Are you actively trying to piss me off? Tell me, do you know where you are wrong?"

"Father your son isn't wrong."

Thrown such questions his way, Julius didn't fret. He was setup by that annoying brother of his, the third prince. So letting him feel he was wrong was completely out of the question.

"Shut up!" Altec felt he would soon lose his voice at this rate. Taking a deep breath, he chanted a calming mantra in his heart. "It's said you went to the Drunken Rose and forcefully touch the daughter of General Clayton Romero."

When people arrived, they found found her passed out naked in his booth, with him above her body. Julius sneered, recalling the matter again. He had to admit that he never thought the third prince would go so far, involving an innocent person into the feud between brothers.

The girl in question was the third prince's fiancé. To get rid of her, he cooked up such an elaborate scheme. And now that many have seen them together, they must marry each other to save face.

At least her dignity was still intact since he used his overalls to cover her exposed body from watchful eyes.

"What?!" General Clayton who was watching the show in amusement, was taken aback and shocked by his Majesty's words. This matter was news to him to.

His daughter? His only precious daughter? He did, he did-

"I'm going to KILL YOU!" The hot-headed Clayton wasn't even thinking when drawing his sword against a dragon's son.

Do you know how powerful Clayton was? On the battlefield he was like a shadowy reenactment of death itself. It took seven guards to stop hold him back or else he would've sliced and diced Julius to his hearts content.

"How dare you lay your filthy hands on my Susu?" It was almost as if Clayton was transforming into the green Hulk right before their eyes.

Seeing this, many other officials who belonged to the factions belonging to the many princes, decided to use this opportunity to drive the fifth prince to a dead end.

"Your majesty! Your majesty! I beg for you to give General Clayton's daughter justice."

Don't think the palace is a peaceful place. Each faction was fighting one another, wanting their prince to be the one to take the dragon throne.

Sure, there might be a crown prince now; but any slip up, and another prince will be appointed to take the throne.

The assassination attempts on the first Prince were to may to count. The other princes also fight among themselves, each person wanting to sit on the Dragon chair. So even if Julius was a useless prince and not eligible for the throne, their faction would always see him as a hidden threat.

That's why they used this opportunity bring up the many activities from Julius' past that were undeserving of royalty.

Seeing how many people were against Julius, Altec also felt helpless in his heart.

But as they say—

As you make your bed, so shall you lie on it.
