At the Devis House
The hall was tense. Everyone sat in uneasy silence, glancing at the clock. It was almost 10 PM, and Amber, Megan, and Joseph hadn't returned yet. Even though Amber was on their side, she was unpredictable—dangerous enough to make anyone wary.
Steve: (standing abruptly) "I'm going to find them!" 😱
Mr. Devis: "But… are you sure—?" 😶
Mrs. Devis: (interrupting, calm but commanding) "Don't forget who they went with. Even if death itself comes before them, they'd still need your sister-in-law's permission first." 😎
With that, she left as if she had solved the problem herself.
Everyone in the room exchanged confused glances.
Mr. Devis: (to Jonathan) "Wait… doesn't she hate your wife?" 😶
Jonathan: (grinning) "Yep… but don't forget what my wife is capable of, Father." 😎
They shared a knowing look, half exasperated, half amused.
Both: 😒
Jonathan: (laughing quietly) "🤣"
Mr. Devis: (joining in) "🤣"
Lauran and Steve: (rolling eyes) "Seriously… 😒"

Lussy: "Looks like they still haven't come back."
Justin: "I miss her 😤"
Thomas: "Me too 😤"
Emily: "Me three 😤"
Lussy: "Then me four 😤"
All four of them looked at each other and burst out laughing. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just then, a distant car engine roared through the driveway.
Justin: "That's them!" 😲
Everyone froze, hearts pounding, as the car approached. The tension in the hall was almost tangible.
