Cassidy
The place was filled with people, and the lightning filled the entire place, so it was easy for anyone to confuse the exact time right now.
I could see several people who were now in their wolf form; the excitement filled the air, and the music, food, and entertainment all lit up the place.
This was one special day that every werewolf kept on anticipating, but as my gaze lingered around, there was no Brielle anywhere, nor was there the Alpha.
"Have you seen my sister?" I began to ask her friends, but no one had any idea where she was, but suddenly, I came to a halt. My eyes widened, and realization struck me.
"It's the same, a year ago, the same reason that I couldn't find Brielle anywhere during the ceremony, not because she was with her mate, but because she was with Jason and they already knew that I was his mate.
I felt a cold shiver run down my spine as I thought about it. I was used to all this while. Jason got his wolf earlier since he was five years older than me, he knew that I was his mate, but he was buying time, playing with my sister while waiting to still accept me as his mate.
But if Brielle was the one he loved, then why did he accept me as his mate, why did they go through all the stress of playing the long game with me, unless they needed something from me, and now I am going to find out what that is.
I walked towards Jason's room; I had no idea why, but somehow I felt like that was where they were going to be, and as I slammed the door open, the both of them were half naked, both their bodies glued together in a passionate moment.
"Cassy! What are you doing here, I thought I told you not to come!" Brielle snapped at me as she rose to her feet and hurried towards her dress.
But I stood fixed in a position, wondering if this was truly happening to me. But as soon as my gaze caught hold of Jason, I was glued to him, and lost his eyes.
I felt this strong wave gush through my spine; it was like electricity, coursing through my veins; why was I experiencing the mate bond again? I thought that I had passed this stage; why was I drawn to Jason? That feeling like my life depended on him.
I saw myself walking closer to him, and he was doing the same, but we both came to a halt before each other; Brielle stood by the side, consumed with rage.
"Mate!" He called out to me, his voice felt like a whisper. I had totally lost myself to him because it felt like nothing else mattered except for this man before me.
I closed my eyes as he tilted his head forward, but just when I thought that he was about to kiss me, a loud giggle rippled through the air. I was in deep confusion as I stared at the both of them and they were staring at me, their eyes filled with mockery.
"I can't believe that she actually bought the act!" Brielle teased and then rolled her eyes at me.
"What is going on, what are you talking about, he is my mate"
"Yes, but he is my man and you just be stupid to think that I am going to let you have him"
She snapped. I turned to Jason, and he seemed confused like he had no idea what he was supposed to do.
"I am sorry Brielle, but she is my mate and no matter how much I love you, the mate bond is too strong and I can't deny it"
"What! Jason, what are you doing?"
"I am sorry, Brielle," he muttered and then held my hand, but it felt like I was slowly coming to my senses; all of this was a plot; they were trying to play a trick on me, and if I hadn't seen the future, I would have fallen for it.
Swiftly, I pulled my hands away from him, and the both of them immediately frowned.
"What are you doing Cassidy?"
"I am sorry, but I will have to reject you!" I announced and they both widened their eyes.
"What are you saying, I understand how much you care for your sister, but I am your mate and you can't reject the mate bond because you will never get another one"
He announced and at that moment, I had no idea that they were a group of people that were starting to watch what was going on.
They all began to whisper to each other. "She was having sex with her sister's mate, what a cruel thing to do"
One of them whispered to another and seeing how Brielle bit her lower lip, I knew that she had become really furious.
"As much as this was going to be fun, I can't have my sister's left over. You got your wolf all this while and knew that I was your mate, yet you never told me anything about it but was gladly having sex with my sister, if I hadn't caught you today, then I guess that I would never have found out"
"Cassy–" Brielle tried to speak, but before she could even go anywhere further with her words.
"You don't have to feel guilty, you love him, then you should go on with your relationship with him"
I drifted backward from him, about to go on with the rejection process, but he came forward and held my hands again; his hands were warm, and his eyes were just what any woman would ever want. I knew that most people would regard me as a fool for rejecting such a man, but this was my last straw, and I wasn't going to abuse it.
"I, Cassidy Rowan, daughter of Dominic Rowan, reject you, Alpha Jason, as my mate and cut all ties that bind us together!"
I could immediately feel a sharp pain and once I did, a loud groan escaped his lips, no doubt that he could also feel the pain that I was feeling.
"Cassidy, what have you done?" He growled, clutching to his chest as it felt like the pain was slowly trying to overwhelm him.
"Just get ahead and accept the rejection."
"Yes, Jason, accept the rejection, or else it is going to hurt you really bad," Brielle explained, her face etched with frustration.
"I, Alpha Jason, son of Vaughn, accept your rejection!" As soon as he said the words, I finally felt a flush of relief from my spine and without hesitation, I turned around and stormed out of there.
