Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Cassidy's POV****

I was woken up by the bright light shining directly through my eyes; I clamped my hands around my eyes, trying to shield the light from penetrating any further.

"Was this heaven?" I thought to myself until that voice that had the ability to crush my soul came through.

"Wake up, Cassy, today is the mating ceremony, and I can't believe that you are still asleep!"

Her voice penetrated through my ear that I did not realize when I jerked up from the bed, and next to me was Brielle, her gaze locked with mine as they beamed with sincere smiles.

I stared around the room; it was my room, the one that I was familiar with, but what was happening? Why was Brielle here, and why was I there?

Recalling the previous event, my hands reached from my tummy, but there was nothing there; there was no baby, and neither was I stabbed with a blade.

"Was it a dream?" I stared blankly as I asked, but I was not referring to anyone in particular.

"What are you saying?" Brielle furrowed her brows, confusion swept through her face as she stared at me, yet I could not help but pull away from her.

"What are you doing here?" I questioned.

"What do you mean what I am doing here, it's the mating ceremony today, remember we both agreed to go together"

"The mating ceremony, but that has happened long ago, why are you talking about that?"

I was lost, trying to comprehend what was happening, she narrowed her gaze at me.

"Is this some sort of a joke Cassy, or did you hit your head while you were asleep?"

A smile swept through her lips; they were such a sweet smile; I slammed myself hard on the head, realizing that it was all a dream.

"I wasn't joking, Brielle; I think that I had a dream, and it felt so real," I explained, and she drifted closer to me, wrapping her hands around mine.

"Whatever it was, it was just a dream. Today is the mating ceremony; we get to find our mate, so I don't think you should be worried about a dream; get dressed!"

She suggested, but I was still confused, I had no idea how I was back here. The mating ceremony happened a year ago. There are so many memories of a year, and there was no way all of it was a dream.

"But the mating ceremony only happens until night, why am I supposed to get dressed this early?"

"Dad and mom are downstairs waiting for us to have breakfast," She reminded me; even though I was still lost as to what was happening right now, I rose to my feet and strode towards the bathroom.

I stood before the bathroom mirror, and right there, the pendant on my neck glittered. There was a bright purple color; suddenly, it began to glow, and as it glowed, I began to feel this sharp pain in my head.

I clutched it firmly to my neck, and instantly, images began to flash through my head: there was my corpse on the floor, and I was in the pool of my own blood; this was certainly not a dream.

I could feel that same pain I felt there, the horror of being betrayed piercing through my heart again.

As soon as the pendant stopped glowing, the pain instantly stopped but with my gaze still fixed on the pendant, I noticed something strange.

There was a timer; it had started a few minutes ago, and I needed no one to tell me that I was back to a year ago before I became a mate with Jason.

Just when I was about to ignore it, there was a message boldly written on it: ONE YEARS LEFT TO CHANGE YOUR FATE!

Goosebumps all over me; I did not realize when I fell on the floor trembling, unable to believe that this was indeed happening.

I got dressed after having my bath and as I stride down the stairs, my guess was fixed on my family at the dining table.

"I am going to fall!" I suddenly blurted out to myself and with the next step that I took, I landed right On the floor, rolling through the stairs.

"Cassy! Are you alright?" Brielle hurried over to my side but I froze right there, staring at everyone; there were goosebumps around my arms.

"It's the same! Everything is the same!" I announced, but no matter how many times I said it, no one had a clue of what I was saying; they all stood there staring at me like I had lost my senses.

But it was not a matter of my senses; it was a matter of rebirth; this was not a dream like I previously assumed. Everything is the same as it happened to me at the mating ceremony.

Ranging from the choice of dress I wore to falling down the stairs, the clothes Brielle wore, and even the food on the table, everything was the same.

"It's happening again!" This time, I clutched onto the pendant on my neck as fear took hold of me; my hands and feet were trembling, and I was on the brink of tears.

Their voices kept echoing in my head; none of it made any sense; I just knew that I had to act; I had to do something else. It was going to repeat itself, and my fate would repeat itself.

And with that thought, I dashed out of there, running as fast as I could go. My dad kept on calling out to me, yet I ignored him and did not stop running until I had boarded a cab.

"Take me to the Pack house!" I announced and the driver sped off.

My heart kept rising and falling as the driver sped through the busy road, I was trying to connect with my wolf, but she wasn't there, she wasn't responding to me, everything wasn't just right, and most especially, I knew that I was on a timer and had to get my revenge.

As soon as I came to a halt before the pack house, the guards at the gate did not hesitate to let me inside, knowing that my father works for them.

I went straight to Lyon's quarters; his quarters were the smallest in the pack house, and for someone who was once the Alpha, it was quite surprising.

I stood before his mansion, the guards staring at me from head to toe like I was lost cost.

"Are you lost, Miss?" They asked, probably because no one had ever visited Alpha Lyon since the accident, but I shook my head.

"I am here to see Alpha Lyon!" They widened their gaze; I could not tell if they were surprised because I was here to see Alpha Lyon or was it because I addressed him as an Alpha.

"You can't see him, whatever this is about, you can relay the message to us and we will pass it to him"

The huge guard with tattoos all over his body requested, but I shook my head.

"No! This is not a message for you, I need to speak to him myself"

"Miss! I advise that you leave right now, you have no business with Alpha Lyon"

They requested, but I was desperate, and most especially, I was in a hurry; when they least expected, I shoved them out of my way and stormed right inside.

Inside the cold living room, deprived of any form of love or warmth, was Alpha Lyon in a wheelchair, his cold gaze staring blankly at me, and before he would even get the chance to speak, I spoke first.

"Alpha Lyon, let's get married!" I blurted out as his cold eyes froze.
