Chapter 25 - Chapter 81-85

Chapter 81: Shadows of the Past

Days passed, and the closer we got to a new city, the more difficult the tasks we faced became. The battle was not only against enemies but also a battle against ourselves.

In one city that had been completely destroyed, strange markings were found on the walls. It looked as if someone had drawn mysterious symbols, markings pointing to something very ancient.

"Do you think this is the work of the old ruler?" asked Iyad as he picked up a piece of broken wall.

Ariel stared at the symbols and then said, "I don't think so. This is something deeper. These symbols date back to a long time ago. They might be related to the rituals the old ruler tried to use."

"Do you mean that someone before him tried to control the world?" Lilith wondered.

Ariel looked at me and said, "I think we're not facing just one person. We're facing an ancient legacy of shadows, something deeply rooted in this world."

"But does that mean we'll never rid ourselves of the shadows?" asked Lilith, with concern in her voice.

Ariel replied calmly, "Shadows aren't just evil. They are part of this world. If we learn how to deal with them, we can live in balance."

Her words were full of wisdom, but there was nothing easy about the task before us. We were looking for a way to rid this world of shadows, but we were beginning to realize that there were forces greater than we had imagined.

Chapter 82: The Confrontation

The next day, as we began our preparations to leave, we felt something strange. The sky was unusually dark, as though something was watching us. There was no wind, no sound of life nearby.

Then something appeared from the shadows, moving between the dead trees. It resembled the creatures we had faced before, but it was larger and more powerful. There was something evil in those creatures, something that quickly extinguished hope.

"We need to stop!" Lilith cried. "These aren't just creatures. They are something bigger. Something ancient."

"They're chasing us because they know we are close to uncovering the truth," I said seriously.

Ariel looked at me with sharp eyes. "Are we ready for this confrontation?"

The time had come, and we knew there was no escaping it. The great confrontation was at hand. We had only one choice: to fight.

The battle between us and the shadows erupted. The forces of darkness fought with all their might, but we had power too. We had faith. Faith that we were facing darkness that couldn't withstand our light.

The victory wasn't easy, but we felt the change within us. Every strike was a step toward redemption.

Chapter 83: True Power

After the battle, silence filled the air, except for our heavy breaths. The ground beneath our feet was covered in the aftermath of the battle, but we were alive.

"Did we really just face darkness?" Lilith wondered, wiping the sweat from her brow.

Ariel, walking silently, nodded and said, "No. We were facing ourselves. All those shadows were part of us, part of the things we've hidden deep within."

"But we're not the same as we were," I said. "We've changed."

"Yes, and that's what makes us stronger," replied Ariel, her eyes glimmering with the wisdom she had gained throughout this long journey.

Chapter 84: Discovering the Depths

After the battle we fought against the shadows, we all felt a temporary relief, but we didn't have much time to reflect. The threat still loomed, and there were many unanswered questions.

As we continued walking through the dark forests, I felt something strange in the air. The atmosphere was heavy, as if a kind of pressure was growing from all sides.

"Have you noticed anything?" Iyad asked, looking around nervously. "As if something big is watching us."

Ariel stood in silence, her eyes quickly scanning the surroundings. Finally, she said in a low voice, "Shadows don't just come from darkness. There's something deeper, something we can't see but can feel."

I didn't know how to interpret what she said, but I could feel what she meant. There was something in this place, something we weren't prepared for. Then, at that moment, we all felt a violent tremor beneath our feet. The ground shook, as if it were about to explode.

Before I could say anything, the earth suddenly opened, and a long dark path appeared before us. There was something down below, something mysterious, pulsing with life.

"This seems to be the moment," Ariel said seriously. "The shadows aren't just monsters. There's a greater source of darkness, and we need to reach it before it controls us."

We all decided to descend into the dark path. Everything around us was covered in mold and shadows, as if time itself had stopped in this place.

Chapter 85: Journey in the Dark

We entered the dark tunnel, and everything was surrounded by a deadly silence. There was no sound except our footsteps echoing in the quiet, and sometimes, it felt as if the shadows moved with us, watching us from afar.

"I just want to know what we're searching for here," I said as I continued walking in the dark. "What is this thing we're all afraid of?"

Ariel didn't respond to my question directly. Instead, she turned and said, "You're not the only ones searching here. The shadows don't just come to attack us. They come to train us. They teach us patience, courage, and sometimes, painful truths."

"What do you mean?" Iyad asked.

"If you want to move past this place, you must face what's inside of you," Ariel answered.

Then, she suddenly stopped, signaling for us to stop behind her. There was a massive door in the wall, covered in mold and shadows. On the door, there was an ancient engraving, seeming to carry a warning.

"Here..." Ariel said softly. "Here lies an ancient secret. This door leads to the place where it all began."

We cautiously pushed the door open, and when we did, the surprise was immense. Behind the door was a completely dark room, and as we entered, the lights began to flicker slowly. In the center of the room was a massive statue, bearing a strange and terrifying face, with ancient words inscribed upon it.

"This..." I said, as I stepped forward. "It looks like a sign from the past."

Ariel silently observed, then said, "The symbols on this statue point to something very ancient. This area was the center of the ancient powers that tried to control this world. The shadows we're facing are remnants of these forces."

"So, we're not just facing ordinary enemies," I said, trying to absorb what she had said.

"Exactly," Ariel replied, continuing, "We are still facing a legacy from the past. But we are here, and we will face it together."
