Chapter 10: Uncovering Dark Secrets
After the battle, we returned to the castle, where the king and the generals greeted us. The atmosphere was heavy, and everyone seemed to be working on the next plan. Everyone was on edge, and no one knew exactly what would happen next.
We entered the royal hall, where the king was reading battle reports. I looked at his face and realized that behind his smile, there was something dark.
The king said,
"We won the battle, but we all know that won't be enough. The Dark Lord is just the tip of the iceberg. He's part of something greater and more mysterious."
But he stopped suddenly and pointed to one of the advisors.
"We need to summon the great wizards. We must learn more about this new enemy."
A group of ancient wizards entered the hall. One of them was an old man carrying a long staff, and another looked young but had a strange power in his eyes. We marveled at their presence.
One of them, his eyes dark with magic, said, "The ancient forces have begun to stir again. What you have started is not just an ordinary war, but the beginning of a dark age."
I felt tense as I heard those words. It was clear that we were facing not the enemies we had seen, but something deeper and more deadly.
