Chapter 14 - Chapter 26-30

Chapter 26: Enemies in the Shadows

The creatures that appeared before us were dark beings, blacker than the darkness itself. They seemed to be made of dense mist and distorted shapes that were unpredictable. There was only one thing that was clear: there were many of them, and they were waiting for us to make a mistake.

"Are you ready for the confrontation, Eyad?" the general asked with a serious tone.

I didn't answer immediately. Instead, I looked at Lilia. She was holding her magic staff, her violet eyes blazing with focus. I knew she would be by my side no matter the danger. But this test wasn't what I had expected. There was a strange force here, a power that emanated from the shadows, as if the place itself was testing us.

The battle began.

One of the creatures lunged at us with incredible speed, letting out sharp screams that seemed to tear the air apart. Lilia responded quickly, launching a massive fireball from her staff, but the creature was fast enough to dodge. As I watched the battle, I felt something strange happening inside me. My special ability, Copying Potential, was growing stronger, and I found myself able to copy Lilia's magic in that moment.

"I'll try something," I whispered to myself, focusing my power and directing it toward one of the creatures.

Suddenly, time and space around me accelerated, and I felt Lilia's power flow through my body. I concentrated my energy into one hand and launched a fireball, similar to the one Lilia had cast, but much larger. The creature, which had been about to attack us, wasn't prepared to face this new power.

The fireball exploded in the sky, illuminating the entire place with intense light. The creature vanished into nothingness, leaving behind a thick trail of smoke. It seemed that the power I had copied worked.

"Excellent, Eyad," Lilia said quietly, though there was a hint of admiration in her voice.

But we were still not safe. More creatures were lurking in the shadows, each one holding an invisible dark power, and we had to face them all.

"We won't stop now," I said firmly, feeling the energy flow through my veins. "We will move forward."

Chapter 27: Into the Depths of Shadows

As the dark creatures disappeared into the shadows, we began to notice something strange. The atmosphere had become thicker, and the air seemed to shift into something heavy, as if it were trying to trap us. Each step we took created an accelerating echo, as if the world itself were watching us closely.

"It seems the darkness here isn't easily satisfied," Lilia said, her fingers curling around her staff. "We've entered the heart of a deadly world."

We looked at the horizon, where the light was gradually fading, replaced by thick darkness, as though we were sinking into a sea of the unknown.

"Should we continue?" the general asked, watching everything carefully.

"No choice," I said, turning to face them all. "This is the only way to survive. You won't find the answers on the surface."

We moved toward what seemed to be the endpoint of the path. The shadows grew denser, and strange sounds began to echo in our ears, as if something invisible was watching us.

Then suddenly, we heard a faint voice coming from the darkness:

"You were wrong to think you could escape."

We stopped abruptly. The voice came from all directions, and we couldn't tell where it was coming from.

"You are merely pawns in a game bigger than you," the voice continued, "You won't understand the truth until you fall into our trap."

There was no time for hesitation. The enemies we had faced so far were only the beginning. These dark creatures were tools for forces plotting to manipulate us.

A massive creature suddenly appeared before us, surrounded by shimmering shadows. It was a figure of pure evil, its eyes glowing with fiery red light. It was black as night, devoid of any mercy.

"Who are you?" the general asked, raising his sword in defiance, but the voice around him made his sword tremble.

"I am the darkness you cannot defeat," the creature said in a deep voice, as though its words were part of the very truth itself. "I am the guardian ensuring you will not cross this threshold."

The decisive battle was about to begin.

Chapter 28: The Great Battle

When the shadowy creature moved, we felt the ground beneath us tremble. It was a gigantic being, with unimaginable power. Its eyes glowed more intensely, as though fire itself was falling from them.

"Hold your positions!" the general ordered, raising his sword into the air. "This is the battle that will determine our fate."

But I felt something strange inside me. As I watched the immense force the creature unleashed, there was a mysterious feeling inside me telling me that we might have entered something much bigger than we could handle.

"Lilia, I need your help!" I shouted.

Lilia closed her eyes for a moment, then raised her staff toward the sky, releasing a massive magical beam. But the shadowy creature was faster. It struck with a swift movement, unleashing dark energy at the spot where Lilia had stood. Her magical beam collided with the dark energy, but it exploded in our faces.

"You must unite!" the general shouted, insisting we keep fighting. "We can't face it alone!"

But in that moment, I felt something extraordinary. My Copying Potential had developed in an unexpected way. My ability to copy magic had grown stronger, and I could now feel the power Lilia was releasing, even integrate it with my own.

"I won't let it outdo us!" I shouted, raising my hand to combine the magic's power with mine.

I pulled a merged energy beam from my hand and aimed it at the shadowy creature. But before it could strike, something amazing happened. Our magical beam, which we thought would defeat it, split into several light beams, hitting the creature at multiple points.

"What's happening?" the general asked in astonishment.

At that moment, the shadowy creature's power started to wane, and the darkness around us began to slowly dissipate. But we didn't know yet if we would survive, or if the creature would return even stronger than before.

The darkness exploded in all directions, but when the storm calmed, we found the creature had vanished, leaving behind a strange effect on the ground.

"We won," Lilia whispered, trying to understand what had happened.

But we all knew this victory was not the end of the story. Something greater awaited us in the heart of the darkness.

Chapter 29: The Unknown Approaches

As we stood amid the devastation caused by the battle, we felt something strange in the air. The ground beneath our feet still trembled slightly, and the air had become heavier. There was a mysterious feeling, as if we hadn't yet defeated our true enemy.

"This can't be all," I said, watching the dark sky.

Lilia remained silent, but her violet eyes were watching the horizon with tension.

"It's just the beginning," she whispered.

No sooner had Lilia spoken those words, than something unexpected happened. The ground we were standing on began to slowly crack open, deep fissures appearing. Suddenly, we heard strange noises from beneath the earth, as if they were emanating from the very heart of the world itself.

Then, from between the cracks, a faint blue light began to emerge. The light gradually seeped out, revealing what had been hidden deep within the earth. There was a large, misty gate, wide open before us.

"This... is not an ordinary gate," Lilia said, approaching it cautiously. "This is an ancient gate, sealed deep in the world for thousands of years."

"So... is this the source of the darkness?" the general asked.

"Yes," Lilia said in a low voice. "The darkness we face is not just a force; it is part of this gate. And what lies beyond it is much worse than we can imagine."

I watched her with unease. What was beyond this gate? And what could be waiting for us?

We didn't have time for doubts or hesitation. This was a decisive moment. This was the moment that would determine the fate of the world.

"We have to go through it," I said firmly. "This is the only way to save this world. We have no other choice."

We took a deep breath, then crossed through the gate together.

Chapter 30: Through the Gate of Time

When we passed through the gate, it felt as though we were traveling through time itself. The colors around us shifted unnaturally, and the place became more distorted and dizzying. The sky was filled with the strange blue beam, and the ground was covered in strange ash-like materials.

"Where are we?" the general asked, looking around cautiously.

"I don't think we're in the same world anymore," Lilia said, carefully examining the place.

We were in a strange world, a mix of destruction and the past. The trees were deformed, and the air was strange. What seemed from afar like a starry galaxy turned out to be giant magical creatures floating in the sky. These were not the signs of normal life, but incomprehensible forms of creatures that ruled this dimension.

"We need to search for answers," I said, moving in the direction that seemed to lead toward the center of this place.

As we moved through this world, we noticed remnants of an ancient civilization scattered here and there. The walls of abandoned buildings were carved with strange symbols, and enormous columns stood bare and shattered.

And as we neared the center of this strange world, we felt something else. There was movement behind us. In the shadows, something was watching us.

"We're not alone here," Lilia said, her voice tense.

And in that moment, enormous creatures resembling dragons emerged from the shadows. But none of us were ready to face these beasts. Their eyes burned with fiery red light, and their giant wings fluttered slowly, as if they were enjoying our presence in this dark place.

Lilia held her staff and fired a magical beam at one of the creatures, while I prepared to copy her powers and direct them at another.

"Fall back!" the general shouted. "We can't win this fight."

But we had no choice. The magical dragons' attacks intensified, and the ground began shaking more violently. The world around us was collapsing, and its darkness was gradually swallowing us.

"Give me a moment!" I screamed, trying to control my Copying Potential, which had grown more powerful than I had imagined. "This can't be impossible!"

With every dark cloud attacking us, a new beam of light shot from my hand, blending with Lilia's power until we were able to momentarily fend off the dragons.

But we knew we couldn't stay here forever. Every step forward brought us closer to the end, and we needed to find a way to survive before the darkness crushed us once again.

"We won't be able to run forever," Lilia whispered, finally getting close to me. "We have to face this darkness head-on."

And that was the moment I understood that the hero we were trying to be wasn't just someone with power, but one who learns how to face fears and stand firm against the darkness, no matter the cost.
