He woke up covered in sweat, his heart pounding in his chest.
Even if it was just a dream, not everything about it was... he really had been fired yesterday, and there was no one he could ask for help.
In his imagination, he was already homeless, begging for money on cold, dark streets.
Before he could start crying again, he got up amd got ready. He decided to face a new day and to find a new job.
His trembling hands slowly reached for the front door.
"Well, yeah, of course it was just a dream. Nothing to be scared of out there… right?" he whispered under his breath.
He stepped outside and locked the door behind him, hiding the key under the doormat before heading off.
The early morning sun shone on his face, reminding him that he still had a lot to live for... after all, he was only twentythree.
