Chapter 13 - New friends

The classroom door opened, and the student saw Shiu enter, with Damio clinging to him like a koala. Chichiro followed closely behind, looking happy.

They all suspected something had happened. Chichiro was in love with Damio, but the way Damio had been acting towards Shiu indicated that his attention was solely on Shiu. For some reason, all three of them entered together. Even though Damio was hugging Shiu tightly, Chichiro didn't show any signs of jealousy.

In fact, he seemed to be trying to attract Shiu's attention.

"Huh?" they all wondered.

"Shiu!" Chichiro called, smiling broadly. Everyone in the class was watching the unfolding drama.

Shiu, having managed to get Damio off his back and seated at his desk, looked up at Chichiro. "Yes, is something wrong, Chichiro?"

"No, I just wanted to ask if you could show me the formula you worked on last time when the teacher sent you to the board."

At Chichiro's words, Damio imagined throwing him out of the window. 'This guy's pretty clever. He's never even thought of studying as a strategy to get close to Shiu.'

Shiu gazed at Chichiro deeply before responding, "But I don't think the teacher will include that in the exam."

Chichiro persisted, "Yeah, but you never know. I wouldn't want to take any chances; the teacher sometimes includes unexpected material on the exams. I know you're really smart, so could you just help me a little bit?"

Seeing Chichiro muster the courage to ask for help, Shiu couldn't refuse. "okay."

Damio wasn't expecting Shiu to accept so easily,

"Then I would like you to teach me too, Shiu," Damio shamelessly inserted himself into the conversation.

Chichiro shot him a fierce look, momentarily forgetting his fear of Damio. "There's no reason for you to stay. You already know everything."

"Anyone can see you're a fox. What do you intend to accomplish by staying alone with Shiu in the classroom? I won't allow it." Damio pulled his chair closer to Shiu.

The students stared open-mouthed at the heated exchange between the two boys. Just when things were getting interesting, Shiu raised his hand and sighed, "Does it have to be today? I have some things to do." He shot Damio a look. At Shiu's look, a smug smirk spread across Damio's lips. "Today is impossible. Shiu and I have things to do after class."

Chichiro hurried over to Shiu's desk, took hold of his hands, and said urgently, "I can help you with whatever you need."

Damio forcefully removed Chichiro's hands from Shiu's, causing him to fall to the ground.

"Shiu, see how he treats me! I didn't even do anything!"

The thought of Shiu's reaction made Damio flinch. Using his charm, pretty face, he pouted and looked up at Shiu with adorable eyes, saying, "I didn't mean to push him."

"How is it my fault that he's a wimp? I didn't push him that hard; I only moved his hand away."

'Yes, you mean it,' though everyone in the class, including Chichiro, who was still on the floor.

Frange and the other boys in the class wished they had popcorn to enjoy the drama unfolding before them. It was the first time they had heard Shiu speak in complete sentences for more than two minutes, as well as the first time they had seen Damio react this way.

"Don't tell me that Shiu is the boss in that relationship," the class president said, looking between Shiu and Damio.

"Yes, it seems that Shiu has the power," another student chimed in.

"If Damio dares to do anything to us in the future, we know who to call..."

"We'll call Shiu."

"But guys, I'd like Shiu to teach me too. I feel like I won't pass the upcoming exam without practice."

The class president looked at the others. "Let's ask him."

Everyone, including Frange and the Student Council boys, walked over to where Damio, Shiu, and Chichiro were standing.

"Uhm... S-Shiu," the class president called out.

Shiu noticed all the students in the class standing in front of him, looking at him with sparkling eyes. He had a bad feeling.

"Could you teach us too, please?" they begged.

Before he could refuse, another student stepped forward. "Shiu, I'm desperate. I know you don't want us to talk to you. We realize it, but please, I beg you. Otherwise, I'll be finished," he pleaded, on the verge of kneeling down.

Shiu quickly stood up and stopped him. "It's okay," he said.

The others looked at Shiu with big, bright, adorable eyes. "REALLY?! Thank you, Shiu!"

"Guys, we'll all stay after school to practice!" he announced.

They all cheered in response.

Shiu rubbed his forehead, contemplating his next move. He had promised the ghost that he would help him this afternoon, but with everyone present, it seemed almost impossible.

All his plans were falling apart. He hadn't intended to get close to anyone.

He sighed for the tenth time. "Whatever," he muttered.

Damio saw Shiu worried expression. He then turned toward everyone. "Not possible," he said. Everyone turned to look at him. Damio's face was devoid of expression.
