In the morning he placed me in the living room and wrote out a note for the Nii family when they came to pick me up, before leaving quickly with a serious expression on his face. Something I hadn't seen since the day I was born.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Chapter Start~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It took a while for the Nii family to arrive, but eventually, a young blonde man with a short blonde girl arrived at my doorstep with a knock on the door before opening it before I could climb over to answer.
"Hey, B told me to come pick you up, you're Shin right?" The man said, looking at me with a neutral expression.
I nodded my head absently and he hoisted me up below his armpit and read the note on the table before closing the door behind him and leaving my house just a quick as he appeared. "I'm Yuta, and this is my daughter Yugito." He said, pointing to the girl that was stepping alongside us, she seemed very irritated while we headed towards their house.
"There is also my wife Tsumugi, she is waiting back at the house for us. She is very scary so you better watch out."
The trek towards my new home was a long one. With Yugito complaining about her legs the whole way through, something I should have expected from a toddler hiking through a range. I could tell she was going to be annoying for the next few years.
4 hours later
We arrived at a huge white house built into the cliffside. There were several training grounds littered around the estate, all bruised and beaten to differing degrees. 'Yugito has definitely started training' I thought, just being woken from my nap.
As Yuta opened the door and took his first steps into the house an amazing smell flowed into my nostrils. We walked through the hallway and turned a corner, to see Tsumugi finishing up lunch and setting the table.
She barely noticed our presence until Yuta shot a quick "Hello." Towards her and she finally looked up towards us. She had beautiful turquoise eyes and her brown hair flowing freely down her back, to waist length.
"Took a while don't ya think?" She said in a tone I knew all too well.
An angry wife.
I struggled to escape but Yuta had an iron grip on me unwilling to handle his punishment alone. Until I was pulled out of his grasp by Tsumugi who sat be down in a chair facing the both of them.
I was then shown from a third person perspective how scary women can be with any object in their hands. "Oh shit." Was all Yuta said before breaking into a perfect sprint straight to the door.
In a flash he was back and in his wife's hands by the collar. "Dear, why were you out for so long? Are you cheating on me?" she said not breaking the staring contest Yuta was desperately trying to escape.
"No! Yugi was just walking too slow!" He exclaimed pointing to the culprit who had fished out a can of tuna and was eating it with a spoon.
"Yugito. I just worked so hard on a lunch for us, and you go fetch a canned good. Are you mocking me?" Tsumugi uttered in a stone-cold voice. She dropped her husband who started praying for his daughter's safety, completely ignoring the fact he did just throw her under the metaphorical bus.
"Uhh. No?" Yugito said in a shivering voice as she dropped her spoon. She decided this destruction was her best chance to run and so she did. I would like to fix my former statement. It seems Yugito has yet to start training, those holes are just from Tsumugi's rampages.
I pushed my chair away from the table and trotted to the door, watching Tsumugi chase Yugito around with a ladle and Yugito trying to get a mouthful of tuna every chance possible.
At this point Yuta had vacated the kitchen and was watching behind me. Tsumugi finally got her hands on Yugito and dragged her back to the house by the ankle, Yugito finishing her can on the way.
When she arrived back in the kitchen her mood flipped, and we all sat down 'Bipolar?' I thought as I remembered something important. I hadn't been checking my inventory nor did I remember what I had received from my lotteries that I did over the past year. I would soon get to that as not to trigger Tsumugi's wrath in my toddler body.
Lunch was a beef stew with some bread. Nothing special, but it reminded me of when Hanako and I would make dinner and talk about the things that happened that day. I didn't cry but the tears were trying their best to surface. After lunch, I waddled over to the couch where Yugito was shovelling more canned tuna into her mouth.
She gave a side glance towards me but said nothing as she focused back on the scheduled program. In my head I thought 'Inventory' and a blue box popped up in front of me.
"Welcome to the inventory! Here you can view your balance, current held items, equipped items, durability and any information relating to your current held items."
I looked at my balance and it showed 2560 ryo meaning I got some from a few of my lotteries. There were 36 panels glowing in the main screen with a few more grayed out with locks below them. Some of the glowing boxes were filled so I reached out and touched them bringing up the information panel.
"Basic chakra exercises"
Contains knowledge on how to unlock and start to manipulate chakra.

I didn't hesitate to press 'Y' and the knowledge flowed into my head.

'Finally! My first skill' I thought while Yugito was still oblivious to the shit eating grin on my 1-and-a-half-year-old face.
I laid on my side in a comfortable position watching the TV while I was deliberating between unlocking my chakra now or later. It would be odd if I just did but also what's the point in hiding it? I don't need to hide from some prick like Danzo or go under the radar to hide my skill because of arrogant Uchiha pricks.
So, I said 'fuck it' in my head and tried using the skill.
"Do you want to use part of the skill 'basic chakra exercises? Y/N"
I pressed 'Y' and I felt a warm fluid inside my body. It kind of felt like sitting in a bath only it was inside your body. I tried to move it around, but it was being a bit stubborn, so I applied some force and a small burst of chakra travelled through my body towards my left arm.
Chakra stat unlocked!
Yugito's ears perked up and I wondered what was wrong. She looked towards me, and her slitted black eyes bore into me, they were so cold and scary. I instinctively sat up and she quickly moved away out of the room.
Yuta soon came in being pushed by Yugito and he looked towards me, narrowing his eyes, he stepped forwards and grabbed my left arm with a tight grip. "Shin? What did you do when Yugito was sitting here?" He said with a calm tone.
I complied and forced the small sliver of chakra through my left arm again. He must have felt it since he let go and kneeled down to eye level with me. "Can you understand me? If so, pulse twice, if not don't do anything." He spoke in a more serious tone this time.
I rolled my eyes in my head thinking about how stupid I was to believe nobody would find a baby using chakra suspicious. 'Stupid. Stupid' I thought, this was make or break, I can play it safe and do nothing or I can pulse twice and maybe Ill be treated as a prodigy or something.
I pulsed twice. He nodded and spoke again in a more cheerful voice "Good! You can get started on training with Yugi tomorrow." Yugito blushed in the background at her father's nickname. 'That was close. Almost thought I would be killed.' I did not want to live my first year out again. It was so boring crawling around listening to B usher me on to do things no baby could, like throw up gang signs.
Outside it was reaching evening and I was starting to tire. Yuta took me up into a room with a king-sized bed in the middle against a wall and a crib in the far-right corner, next to an inbuilt wardrobe. I was laid to rest and clocked out on the spot.
Yugito POV
I was sitting there watching the TV when I felt a small bell in my head that put me on guard. Shin was lying next to me stretching his arms, I assume so I looked towards him, and he stared back. The bell in my head got louder and made my hairs stand on edge so I quickly want to find Dad.
"Dad! The bell! It's coming from Shin." I said while he was reading an orange book with a man on the front.
"Yugi, Shin couldn't have a bell he is just a little lad." Dad said. I was not going to be blown off like that, I know what I felt.
"Dad c'mon! Just check for a second." I pleaded; the bell was only happened when someone used chakra.
Yuta reluctantly rested his book on the nightstand and held out his hand to Yugito, who happily grabbed it and led him to Shin who was staring at his left hand with the TV playing in the background.
Dad asked Shin some questions before leaving back to his room with Shin in his arms and a smirk plastered on his face. I knew that face. It meant someone was going to be punished. I sat back on the couch and finished my 8th tin of tuna; this stuff was just too good to be fed to anyone besides me!
The Next Morning
Shin Pov
I woke up to rays of light trying to blind me. I sat up and realised I couldn't escape. The crib was tall, and I wasn't, so I used this time to check out the rest of my inventory stuff from the lottery. One thing caught my eye immediately, it looked like an orange coupon with a 1 going up along the edge of it. I brought it out of the inventory, and it felt like silk, then a message popped up.
"This is a skill voucher for 1 level in any technique you have unlocked"
'Neat' is all I could think of while reading the message. I figured I should save it for later levels and stashed it away. Next item was a scroll of sorts, this one was much bigger than the basic chakra exercises one standing at the same height as me, around 80cm in length. I pressed on it and my eyes bulged at the opportunities this could bring.
[Blank Summoning Contract]
"A summoning contract belonging to no specific clan. When the summoning jutsu is used on this scroll with blood the user is reverse summoned to the most fitting realm to the user."
'Holy fuck' This could be interesting. There was no chance I was getting a canon summoning contract but maybe this could fix that. NEXT, to the right of the scroll was a stack of parchment paper. Now not being stupid like some other people my mind immediately went to the chakra litmus paper or whatever it was called.
My question was answered when I clicked on it revealing I was correct.

"Used to determine one's elemental affinity when chakra is flowed through it. The paper will be affected in several ways based on affinity; Fire burns, water drenches, earth crumbles, lightning crimples and wind splits."
This was useful because I could sell it if I needed. I only really needed a small square to test so a stack of however many was overkill. That was the end of prize gathering time as Yuta stated to awaken.
I was really hoping him and Tsumugi would not get up to anything while was sitting here, waiting for salvation from my prison. Yuta thankfully noticed my plight and picked me up with a smirk I would expect on a devil plastered on his face.
1 hour later
I was dressed in a small black and grey t shirt with maroon shorts outside waiting for further instruction. Next to me was Yugito looking just as sleepy as she was when we awoke her. She reached up to her eyes and wiped off the remaining sleep.
Yuta soon arrived in casual clothes, sporting dark blue collared shirt and black trousers, with his blonde hair in a small ponytail at the back of his head. He stared both of us down for a minute then nodded to himself before speaking.
"Yugito, Shin. I am starting your training early since we are in dire times right now. Shin, you are a bit young but I'm sure it will be fine since you two will be doing different things." He finished with a small smile as he looked at out attentive forms.
"Yugito, I need you to begin meditating and get in contact with the two tailed demon cat. Shin, you will be moving chakra through your body to get a better feel of it, then we can start your real training." He continued with a more serious expression regarding her training.
While I was forcing chakra through my body, I looked over to Yugito who seemed to have gained more feline features. Small whiskers began growing from her cheeks and the sweat that was on her head evaporated before she burst with a blue chakra from all of her chakra points.
Yuta was starting to get antsy from the looks of it but had to put trust in his daughter to control Matatabi. This was stupid for 3 reasons, 1 it was a two tailed demon, 2 she was 3 years old, 3 she has never done this before, did I say she was 3 years old already? A thin coat of blue chakra coated her with black marking littered around, a small tailing was rapidly growing from her backside, and I was a bit too close for comfort.
At my sudden movement, she looked towards me with the same eyes she did yesterday, cold, ruthless and very scary quite frankly. She growled lowly before getting into a pouncing pose. Yuta saw what was about to happen and wisened up. He pulled out a piece of paper and started scribbling before running over to try and place the tag on Yugito.
Sensing the sudden movement, she pounced towards Yuta who slid under her expertly while place the tag on her belly. With a quick set of seals, the flames around Yugito were sucked into the seal and she collapsed.
Yuta picked her up and placed her inside on the couch before returning to me with a disappointed look on his face. 'He really expected her to just control her' I thought while he walked back over to me.
He looked at me before sighing and sitting down across from me. "Shin, what you saw there was the 2 tails, one of the 9 tailed beasts. The cat is sealed inside of Yugi, and she needs to harness its power for the battles going on outside of the land of lightning." He said without giving me a chance to interrupt, not that I could, talking was still hard for me since I didn't have all of my teeth.
"Let's continue on your training, okay? I will put my hand on any part of you body and you must draw chakra there, understood?" He continued while putting his hand on my left hand, which I quickly moved my chakra to pulse twice.
After only 20 minutes of this I was so tired, sometimes he would keep his hand there for a minute then move in a second a new location. Chakra was becoming easier to manipulate even to the more obscure spots like my hips.
When we were done, I looked at my progress for the level on my basic chakra exercises skill. 'Skills' I thought, and the blue sheet popped up instantly.

'Not a small increase I must say I was expecting far slower' I thought as a read over the extra bonuses it gave. What pissed me off was my dojutsu taunting me like a piece of candy for a toddler.
Getting off my back and wiping my brow I looked at Yuta who was reading a familiar orange book. 'Oh buddy' I thought, and I tugged his sleeve for his attention.
"You ready for more kid?" He asked in a taunting manner to which I threw up gang signs that he cringed at. 'Guess B did teach me something' I thought and with new vigor I did the same exercise until Yuta suddenly stopped and walked away.
My momentum slowed after that, and he introduced a new exercise to me. He plucked a leaf off of the tree he walked to and handed it to me. "Make it stick to your forehead with chakra, when you can do that move to your fingers and when you can do that on each finger simultaneously talk to me for the next exercise.
After getting a feel for moving my chakra to my forehead I placed the leaf there and it instantly fell off. I put more pressure and it stayed there for a few seconds before falling again. What pissed me off more about this was Yuta laughing his ass off in the background while I sat there dumbfounded "Kid, you won't get it that fast. Not even prodigies could do that!" he said, and I just knew this was the biggest bone I was ever going to get as a blue screen popped up on my peripheral.

'What strange failure conditions' I looked over to Yuta who had put out a hammock between 2 trees and was reading his book.
I of course pressed 'Y' and continued to stick the leaf to my head. Eventually, I had gotten it to just over 20 seconds and just by that Yuta had moved his book from over his head and looked at me before going back to reading.
When I had gotten it to around 22 seconds a new screen popped up.
"You have unlocked [Leaf sticking exercise] (level 1)"
Allows the user to stick leaves to any part of their body depending on skill level. Used to improve chakra control.
Passive grants 1% to chakra control
'Nice'I thought while going back to sticking the leaf on my head. It was almost 12pm and lunch is at 1pm so I have an hour to increase it by 8 seconds.
With the new skill progress hastened by a large amount and I was nearing 27 seconds at 12:30pm. Yuta had gone inside about 10 minutes ago to talk with Yugito who had woken up.
I was cutting it close but finally got to 30 seconds around 12: 55pm and was called in for lunch. I walked inside and saw Yugito being consoled by Yuta while Tsumugi was serving lunch in the kitchen.
Lunch was different today with Yugito not giving off the aura of joy she usually does, and it was a bit too quiet for my liking. When we finished, she just went into her room and didn't come out for a worrying amount of time.
I climbed up the steps and knocked on Yugito's door at the end of the hall. When she opened it up, I saw the red marks around her eyes before she slammed it shut on me again. 'Bitch' I thought before walking back down the stairs.
I knew it wasn't my fault, but she was still avoiding me like I was the plague and by 3pm I had gone back to training with Yuta watching me. I had levelled up my leaf exercise by 3 times in the past hour and it was sitting at level 5.

After reaching level 2 for the leaf sticking exercise, I was greeted by a new screen that broke my concentration.
"You have reached level 2! 5 stat points have been rewarded and 1 skill point has been added which you can view in the skill tree. For more information, please use the levelling tab inside of the tutorial menu."
I followed the screen's instructions and found the section for levelling which had a star next to it.
"'Levelling up' occurs when you raise 5 levels in any skill. For instance, if you levelled up a jutsu 4 times and an exercise 1 time you would level up and gain 5 stat points and 1 skill point.
Stat points increase your base statistics like strength, vitality, etc.
Skill points are for use in the skill tree to unlock passive bonuses or skills."
Much less of a word dump than the other menus but left things a bit ambiguous, especially when it came to the golden spots on the skill tree. I stored it away for now and opened up my status screen.

I didn't know where to increase mainly, especially since I was soon going to unlock the chakra control stat. I still had no idea what efficiency was, but I would find out soon.
I figured it would be best to spread out my stats to some degree, so I put 2 in luck, 2 in chakra and 1 in charisma to round it out, bringing my status to this.

'Pretty fine for a 1-year-old' I thought while opening the skill tree to use the point I had gained. I was very disappointed at the choices which included:
1% to chakra reserves (chakra tree)
1% to muscle growth (physical tree)
'Mental resistance' skill (spiritual tree)
And the other tree was locked behind a golden skill point so I couldn't even see the choices! 'Bullshit' I thought before continuing with my exercise. It was nearing 4 pm and I had reached 55 seconds and level 7 for my leaf sticking exercise and level 3 for my main status, putting 3 points into chakra and 1 into both vitality and strength. Making chakra my highest stat at 6.
I still needed 4 more levels in any skill to level up again, so I kept on practicing and soon I was running low on chakra. I was so close, and I stopped using the leaf exercise skill for more gains. At 4:30 I had barely increased it to 56 seconds as sweat started to form on my brow making it even harder to maintain.
Yuta had since come back out of the house and was watching my disgruntled expression with shock. It was already surprising for him that I had increased this far but even more so that I had practiced for nearly 4 hours without running out of steam.
He walked over to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "I'm impressed you even got this far. With chakra control like that you could be a genjutsu specialist or a medic nin. Unless its because of your low reserves which could explain it.
I murmured 'status' in my head while half listening to his speech and it showed I had just under 10% of my reserves. Then an idea popped in my head, since Yuta hadn't been doing anything and wasn't a jinchurikii I might be able to get some off of him.
I grabbed his hand that was in my shoulder and pulsed my chakra twice. He stopped his speech and looked down at me, in response I lifted up my hand in a holding gesture trying to convey what I wanted. I knew Yuta wasn't dumb and probably realised what I wanted as he grabbed my hand. "Hmm? Maybe I could spare some of mine… do you really deserve it though?" He said in a mocking tone which I tried my best glare at, not very intimidating since I was a toddler, but it meant the same. He laughed at me and fed through some into my body.
Yuta's chakra felt very prickly and made me jolt when he started. Soon, I was filled up to the brim and he said, "I guess you do have small reserves, not that I could expect much from a little kid." After that I stopped listening and wiped my forehead of all the sweat that had built up.
It was nearing 4:45 pm when I had completed my training getting the exercise to level 9 and the time, I could hold it to 1 minute. 2 more skill levels for the next status level but I still had no idea about the hidden objectives.
I went back inside and watched TV. Yugito was still in her room moping about, now I don't have a demon in me but in the anime Matatabi seemed pretty chill so I'm not sure what went wrong. There was something I wanted to try but I would wait until I was older to ask, permission to meet someone's demon if I even could be rude.
When the show had finished, I went over to the dinner table and sat down. Tsumugi looked behind her, noticing my presence and smiled. Yuta soon came down from upstairs with a pissed off look on his face. He walked past me and patted my head to which I responded with a small smile, as he sat at the end of the table I looked up towards the stairs when Yuta spoke up. "Don't worry about Yugi, she just isn't happy about training today. She will be back down tomorrow." He said with slight anger in his voice, trying to calm himself after whatever happened up there.
When Tsumugi called her down Yugito walked down the stairs with the same red marks around her eyes and she sat next to me. "Sorry about earlier Shin." Was all she said before starting to eat. Dinner was quiet that night and I was soon carried to bed.
