Barely two hours after Ember returned to the palace did they receive a letter from the Queen's secret Information Army. And the letter more or less confirmed what Lady Sylvia said.
Just with additional information.
Nada read it silently, and with each second that passed, her features twisted distastefully as though she couldn't quite believe the words she was reading.
"Shall I relay the letter word for word?" She finally asked when she was done reading.
Ember shook her head, gazing out her window straight at the palace bustle. "I am not in the mood to be annoyed any further than I am. A summary will do."
"It says that the Shantaville's have been disrupting the trade of certain herbs known to treat a rare kind of lung disease which the Grand Lady of the Heartstones have."
Ember sat up at that. "So the Shantavilles have been secretly threatening Lady Sylvia."
