Thor's big sunflower-like grin froze on his face."Wait—so the answer isn't me? That doesn't make sense! Isn't Captain Marvel's probability thing even lower than mine?"
He scratched his head awkwardly, looking very much like an oversized yellow lab caught knocking over the trash can.
Yeah… this atmosphere was getting just a little bit uncomfortable.
One minute earlier Thor had sworn up and down that he was the correct answer and that Tony made the right choice. The next second? Reality slapped him right across the face.
"Thor, clearly you're not someone we can trust at critical moments!" Tony Stark rubbed his forehead, exasperated. "I had a bad feeling, and I should've followed it!"
"Well, the answer's obvious now. It's Captain Marvel. So—who wants to try answering next?" Captain America glanced around the room.
This was already the second round of questions, and Tony had been the first respondent for this round.Meaning everybody except Tony still had a chance.
"'Lightstep Boots'—from the name, it sounds like a pair of boots."T'Challa looked up at the screen. "'Lightstep' suggests increased speed. A pretty good reward."
"I'm a doctor now. They're nice, but I don't really need them." Strange waved it off immediately.
"Wow, speed-boosting boots? That is pretty cool." Scott Lang admired honestly, but shook his head. "But… I'll let someone who needs them more have them."
If it only boosted speed, it wasn't tempting enough for him.He wanted something more magical—something like that ridiculous enlarge-shrink laser gun he got last time.
Everyone shared their thoughts. Unsurprisingly, Thor couldn't care less about footwear.In the end, the pick landed on Captain America.
Since he spent most of his time running missions, he was the one who could use them best.
Cap didn't refuse.
"I choose D, Captain Marvel!"
[Correct answer!]
Sure enough, his guess was right.

A pair of finely crafted blue boots appeared in front of Captain America—no doubt the Lightstep Boots.
"Captain Rogers, do they really boost your personal speed? Were our guesses right?" Scott asked eagerly.
"Yes. That's one of the effects." Cap nodded. "Wearing them increases personal movement speed by 60%."
"Not bad at all." T'Challa approved.
A 60% boost was no joke—especially on someone already superhumanly fast.
"Do they have any other effects?" Thor asked.
Many system items had multiple functions—Star-Lord's Hextech blaster, for example, wasn't just a weapon.
"Yes, they do."Cap continued, "If I'm hit by an enemy debuff that slows my movement, the boots reduce that effect by 25%."
"So basically—another speed increase." Tony summarized. "Meaning overall, they're just boots that make you faster."
"That's right." Cap nodded.
Not the most broken reward, but extremely practical. A 60% speed buff was huge for him.
[Answering complete. Playing analysis footage.]
As always, the video started soon afterwards.
Inside a spaceship, Tony Stark and Nebula sat at a table, playing a super simple paper-football game—using a folded triangle of paper as a ball. One daughter of Thanos, one genius rivaling gods… playing a children's game.
Space life really was mind-numbingly boring.
"Only Tony and Nebula are on that ship. Our earlier deduction was correct—they're the only survivors from Titan." Strange said.
"Tony's face is injured," T'Challa added.
After playing for a while, Tony walked over to a battered Iron Man helmet on the floor, activated the recording function, and started speaking.
"Miss Potts… if you find this recording, please don't upload it to the internet. You'll make too many people cry."
Skin and bones, he leaned weakly against the wall—recording what was basically his last message.
"I don't know if you'll ever see this. I don't even know if you're still… god, I hope you're still alive."
"Today is day 21—no, 22. If not for the existential dread from staring into the literal void of space, I'd say today was a good day."
"The infection is gone. Credit to the blue meanie over there."
"You'll like her—very practical. A bit sadistic though."
"The fuel cells were damaged in the fight. We reversed the ion polarity and scraped together forty-eight hours of flight time… but now it's completely dead."
"Nearest convenience store is a thousand light-years away."
"Tomorrow morning, oxygen runs out. That'll be the end."
"Pep, I know I said no more surprises. But… I hoped to pull off just one last one."

After recording, Tony put on his jacket and collapsed onto the floor, unconscious.
Nebula checked on him—he was in terrible shape. Twenty-two days of starvation had pushed him beyond the brink.
She lifted him into the pilot seat, facing the endless, silent stars.
If nothing changed, Tony Stark would never open his eyes again.
But then—
A blinding light burst outside the window.
Tony reflexively opened his eyes.
A woman glowing with golden energy hovered outside in open space—calm, powerful… not even wearing a spacesuit.
"That's Captain Marvel? She can fly in space?! Without any gear?!"Scott Lang practically popped his own eyeballs out.
Even T'Challa looked stunned.
The footage cut—
Captain America had just finished shaving when the mirror in front of him began shaking. He felt the vibrations in the atmosphere outside instantly.
He rushed out of Avengers HQ.Black Widow, Banner, Rhodey, and Pepper had already run out as well.
Then they all saw it—
A glowing woman gently carrying a spaceship down from the sky.
Jaw-dropping silence filled the room.
"I have to say, I did not expect Captain Marvel to literally carry the ship back." Strange admitted.
Everyone felt the same.The quiz said Tony was rescued in space—but everyone had assumed someone flew a ship to pick him up.
Nope.Captain Marvel doesn't need a ship.She is the ship.
The vessel landed. The ramp opened. Nebula supported Tony as he stepped out.
Cap rushed forward and caught Tony.
"I couldn't stop him," Tony said heavily.
"Neither could I," Cap replied, grim.
"I lost the kid…"Of course he meant Peter Parker. Their bond was practically father and son.
"Tony… we lost him," Cap said.
"Pepper…?" Tony's voice trembled, terrified of the answer.
Thankfully, Pepper ran up and embraced him tightly.
"It's okay. It's okay."
They guided Tony inside.Back at the ship, Nebula sat silently on the ramp. Rocket appeared beside her without a word and held her hand.
The screen froze.
"Close call. That was way too close. Without Captain Marvel, Stark was gone." Scott exhaled.
"Obviously, after she brought Tony and Nebula back, they all headed to the Garden to behead Thanos." Cap summarized. "Tony's body was in no condition to fight, so he wasn't part of that operation."
"Banner sedated him, put him to sleep," Thor added.
At this point, the heroes had a full grasp of the first major chapter of their war with Thanos—the defeat.
The second chapter, their counterattack, they already understood a good portion of—though some pieces were still missing.
