Chapter 13 - 13

Chapter 13: Gene Awakening

A series of crackling sounds echoed from Nimrod's body as it stretched and grew at a speed visible to the naked eye.

In a single breath, the steel armor he wore was stretched to its breaking point, barely covering his vital areas.

In an instant, his body became as tall as an adult, but much more powerfully built.

Growth continued, and at the same time, a torrent of information flooded Nimrod's mind like a tsunami.

Within this vast ocean, the information about the "Savage" was like a river flowing into the sea.

What surged like a boundless ocean was the knowledge within his genes, unlike the last time.

The knowledge in this ocean was not limited to the weaknesses of various races and machines; it also included the knowledge of combat, the art of war, and even the crystallization of human civilization in the currents.

Nimrod's body expanded continuously, like an inflating balloon.

When he opened his eyes, he found that the furnace in front of him had become smaller.

[No! It's not that it became smaller, but that I became a giant!

The "Savage" grants three extraordinary abilities, the most core of which is "Physical Enhancement." Beyonders gain terrifying strength and a powerful physique.

However, as a gene-sire, I am different from ordinary people. The power of the "potion" activated the latent power within my genes. The combination of these two forces transformed my body.

Although the potion catalyzed the complete awakening of my genes, the core driving force behind this transformation was actually the latent power within the Primarch's body.]

Nimrod continued to sort through all the abilities he had gained from this enhancement.

The second extraordinary ability of the "Savage" was spiritual enhancement, making his spirit even more resilient.

Combined with the spiritual enhancement during the gene awakening of his Primarch body, he now possessed an unbreakable will, his spirit as firm as a rock.

The third extraordinary ability of the "Savage" was lung enhancement and the "Savage Howl."

The "Savage Howl" involved taking a deep breath and then, through the enhanced and specialized structure of his lungs, transforming and amplifying it into a mad roar. The ultrasonic waves would stun enemies and inflict mental fear.

[This ability is not in my memory. It should be closely related to the Lung Spider's lung sac.]

Only now did Nimrod understand the evolution pursued by the "Country of Disorder."

After successfully breaking free from the seal on the West Continent of Blue Star, the Primordial One had brought itself to the Warhammer world to collect rarer materials and concoct potions with even stronger extraordinary characteristics. Each sequence would be stronger than the original.

[Even the materials for high sequences might be materials at the level of Star God fragments. Only then would it meet the requirements for the Primordial One's essential transformation.

When I finally advance to Old One and accommodate the "Country of Disorder," we will jointly complete the final evolution.]

After sorting out the extraordinary abilities of the "Savage," he began to organize his gene-memory.

The Emperor created the Primarchs as war machines. The knowledge he gained was mostly related to warfare and military affairs, with architecture and art occupying only a small part.

[Even so, it can be considered the knowledge of scholars in various fields far exceeding the general level.]

After sorting out all the gains, Nimrod looked at the armor that could only cover his vital parts and couldn't help but reveal a wry smile.

[It's not without its downsides. The armor has become a breastplate and a codpiece.]

Nimrod picked up the short-range vox-caster and ordered the artisans to prepare modular armor.

Then, he took out the Moonstone and other materials from the "Country of Disorder" and continued to concoct the "Sleepless" potion.

One work cycle later, Nimrod put on his new armor.

Calling it armor was not entirely accurate; it was more like a steel mesh pieced together from Mittal Steel.

In such a hurry, it was impossible for the artisans to develop armor for a superhuman, let alone armor that could allow a demigod's body to unleash its full power.

Nimrod didn't mind. As long as it could temporarily cover his body, that was enough.

True armor would likely only be obtainable after returning to the Imperium.

He ordered Bukayo to come to the control room and then went there himself with the prepared "Sleepless" potion.

Arriving at the control room door, Bukayo was already waiting respectfully. He was shocked to see a giant walking towards him.

His first reaction was to think of the Ogryns they had encountered before, and he subconsciously tightened his grip on his weapon.

Immediately, Bukayo felt something was wrong. The giant in front of him was much taller than even the tallest of those brutes, over four meters tall. Walking in a passage designed for mortals, he had to lower his head to move forward.

The boy looked up and saw the giant's unarmored neck. His skin wasn't as rough as an Ogryn's but was as crystal-clear as jade.

A strange light emanated from his body, like the gods in the old night myths before the Martian priests arrived.

Bukayo felt an inexplicable force driving him to kneel, to worship the descended deity.

"Bukayo," a majestic voice like thunder came from the mouth of the deity before him, "come in with me."

The boy stared blankly as the deity pushed open the control room door with one finger, bent down, and walked in. A thunderous sound exploded in his mind, and he murmured uncertainly,

"Boss..."

"It's me," Nimrod barely found a comfortable place to stand. "Come in."

Bukayo's mind was full of questions.

[How did the boss become a giant in less than one shift?

Is he a descended deity?

He must be! He saw the cruel hive city and came to save us!

...]

Bukayo suddenly shuddered. He quickly walked into the control room, closed the door, and then knelt down piously before Nimrod.

"Boss... no... deity..."

As he frantically wondered what to call him, the thunderous voice rang out.

"I am not a deity."

The Imperium of this era adhered to the Imperial Truth. Considering that Bukayo was someone he wanted to cultivate, Nimrod had to correct his address.

Bukayo was stunned for a moment. He quickly searched for suitable words in the clicks of the old family library and then tried tentatively,

"I offer you my loyalty. Should I call you my Lord?"

"Acceptable."

Many used such terms to address gene-sires, and it wouldn't cause any trouble.

"This is your reward."

Nimrod spread out his large hand. Bukayo walked over reverently and piously accepted the metal cup with both hands.

"Drink it."

Hearing the command, Bukayo didn't hesitate for a moment. He tilted his head back and poured the dark liquid into his mouth.

The boy fell into eternal night. He saw his body below and the towering figure standing beside it with fear and helplessness.

He met the deep eyes, darker than the night itself, and a majestic voice echoed in his ears.

"Do as I say, simulate an object falling in your consciousness..."

Under Nimrod's guidance, Bukayo mastered meditation and spirit vision.

Becoming a Beyonder, he became even more devout.

[Such power can only be bestowed by a deity. The potion I drank was just a medium.]

...

Thousands of elites followed behind Nimrod, looking at his mountain-like, towering back with admiration and awe.

They felt that things were different now than in the past. Before, they worked for survival, but now they followed a deity for some noble cause.

Indeed, they couldn't yet understand, and their meager vocabulary couldn't express it, but they could feel it.

Let me explain the potion. Some people might say that Tzeentch obtains knowledge from the minds of the Beyonders he cultivates. Let me give an example, divination. Even if Tzeentch obtained all the knowledge, he couldn't replicate it for his followers.

Only by drinking the potion can one gain extraordinary abilities, not by relying on so-called knowledge. With knowledge but without the potion, he can't create a "Diviner" because only Nimrod has the potion formula. He can grant his followers divination abilities, but it's a different system from Beyonders.

Let me give another analogy. It's like teaching mortals all the skills of an Astartes. Without the body, it's all in vain. You know the knowledge of the potion, but without drinking it and gaining extraordinary abilities, you can't use it.

Sequence potions are constantly modifying the Beyonder.

A detailed explanation can be found in Chapter Eighteen.
