Adam remained silent.
Kael and Silas watched him from the other side of the table.
The noise of the restaurant moved around them, but none of it entered the conversation. A waiter passed once and saw that no one wanted to order yet. He left without interrupting.
Adam did not hurry to answer.
He needed them to speak more.
If they wanted something from him, they would have to show how much they were willing to pay. That was the only way he could judge whether this alliance was a door or a chain.
Silas finally spoke.
"So, mister," Silas asked, "what is your answer?"
They still did not know Adam's name.
Adam looked at them.
"What will I get?"
Kael and Silas glanced at each other.
Silas answered first.
"If you want to open a front company in another country, we can make the road easier."
Silas looked at the box in front of Adam.
"If you want material moved quietly, we can help with that too."
Adam listened without reacting.
That sounded useful, but it was still too soft.
