Istharia: New age

In the land of Istharia, there were two prominent races, elves and dwarves. Elves are called druids because of their strong connection towards the life force and possess will of preservation of nature, thus, resulting in them becoming powerful magicians. Dwarves on other hand are called earth people because of their strong connection towards earth and possess will of shaping the nature, thus, leading them to become learned technologists. However, due to both philoshopy being polar opposites despite their common goal, elves and dwarves had lot of quarrels with each other, with former accusing the latter for diverting the natural flow of nature while latter accusing former to become responisble for stagnation of progress of world. Thus, in order to reinforce their philoshopy, elves decides to get other races to their sides by teaching them magic, since, learning magic was much easier than learning technology, the other races drawn towards the arcane art taught by elves, leading to increase of mages, who reinforced the elven law, principle and belief. This reduced the dwarven influence in the land significantly. Dwarves believed while magic is powerful, it also lead to the inequality as not everyone can use magic for only those with strong aptitude towards arcane energy can use it. Still normal people while cannot use magic can still use magical items and potions, dwarves on other hand due their mastery on technology, caused them to become resilent to arcane energy, which is both positive and negative, it is positive due their increased resilence towards magical attacks from mages while it is negative due the reduced to no benefit from magical items, potions or helpful spells. Dwarves as the result reduced to becoming the inferior species, perhaps, even more inferior to non-mages. In the end dwarves can only do odd jobs for mages and to extension elves. Technology is potent but still not a match for magic, there was no hope and future for technology. One day, in an empire known as Duskwood empire, a mysterious and unknown human boy of 12 years old came to empire's dwarven society, who seems to be a child of a certain noble family, he seems to have no magical aptitude as well possessing the strong connection to the earth like dwarves which could be result of the boy's actions of him being knowledgable of natural law and implementing it, that creating technology of his own, something that most magicless people avoided to prevent them from losing whatever connection they have to the life force of the world, as practicing technology further weaken their mystical traits, thus, causing them to gain less to no benefit from magical items and consumables. The boy knew this, but he didn't care about it as he would rather lose his magical strength than ignoring the technology, when he found dwarves and discovered their technology, he quickly become interested in dwarves, even wanting to become a technologist like them. "Please let me join you, I promise you that I will help you to improve technology, so that it will be no longer inferior to magic", the boy said, "Go back home, there is no future for technologist, no matter how much you improve technology, it will remain inferior to magic that can do anything one can imagine", a dwarf named alfred said to the boy, "That's because you didn't combine different laws of nature properly, besides you don't need to defy natural law to get desired result, something that magic usually do, technology which utilizes the law of nature can do same, all you need to do is to pick the right laws of nature and combine them into something useful, in other words, whatever magic can do, technology can do it as well, just with different method, but it can do it", the boy explained to Alfred, "So, you mean that technology can rival magic in different way?", an unknown voice came, Alfred and the boy looked towards the source of voice, it was dwarven prince Edmund, he is the son of the ruler of entire dwarven race who is now a subordinate to the emperor of dusk empire. His father Jordan, the king of dwarves is the one who ordered the entire dwarven race to become subordinate of the Duskwood empire, the reason was simple, as dwarves are indiscrimanted by all the races in other nation, the entire race had to immigrate to the Duskwood empire under their ruler's order, as the royalty of this empire treat all races equally and the emperor who is a close friend of Edmund's father promised to protect dwarves and in exchange of having dwarves to contribute the empire. "Oh, your highness, you came in right time, I was telling this kid to not to get involved with us as technology is not that powerful compared to magic and he will ruin his future by becoming a technologist", Alfred said, "It can't helped, this boy had no aptitude for magic plus he already has lost whatever connection he has to the life force, so, he longer use magical items", Edmund replied, "You mean?", Alfred said in shock, "As all living beings possess mystic vibrations in their body,which increases as one practice magic, but if they practice technology instead, they have their mystic vibration in their body reduced until it is gone forever, this body as non-magician supposed to have low mystic vibration in his body, but as you can sense there is no sign of mystic vibration in his body like us dwarves, meaning he already reached at the point of no return", Edmund explained to Alfred, after hearing this Alfred turned towards the boy and he sensed that the boy really has no mystic vibration meaning he went too far in his pursuit of technology that he loses his magical trait forever as the result of him embracing the natural law of world, the boy was already had no aptitude for magic meaning he can cast spells, by embracing the natural law, he even lost the benefit he could get from magical items. "Damn it, this boy already went too far", Alfred said with disappointment, Edmund turned towards boy, "Anyway you said that technology can achieve everything that magic can, can you prove it?", Edmund asked the boy, "I can, just give a chance and I will prove it", the boy said with confidence, "Fine, will give you some task, if you passed we will welcome you as one of our own", Edmund said, "I will, just give the tasks", the boy replied with excitement, "Very well", Edmund replied while thinking about the task.
