The killer whale moves fast across the sea water, its body barely slowed down from its numerious injures. Raven's hands held the helm steering wheel as the beach came into view in front of them, wind slapped hair across her face as she increased her speed. Raven floored the throttle, sending the pink speed boat skipping across waves toward's the beach.
Behind them, the three spinning blades closed in on the whale.
The first tri blade smashed into the killer whale's right eye with a wet squelch as the ocean water turned even more red. The whale cried in pain, as he moved his body to try and dislodge the blade, still continuing his pursuit. The second blade tore into the left side of the whales mouth covered in long spiked needle like teeth, spraying blood and shattered teeth out of his mouth. Just as the whale tried to charge another water projectile. The third blade sliced straight through one of the whales' pectoral fins.
Swoosh! Squelch!
The severed fin fell twoards the ocean floor with a dull slap, as a geyser of blood sprayed out from the massive wound. But the whale undeterred kept charging at Raven and Alara. His tenacity and pure rage driving him forward. This what Raven likes most about sea life their endurance and taste of course.
Raven didn't wait another second as she quickly came up with a plan. Narrowing her eyes, with a single mental command, Raven released Metal Mouse.
The bear sized mouse launched from the system space with a splash, swimming forward just as the whale charged. The whales broken jaw, now unable to close, allowed Metal Mouse to swim straight inside of his mouth.
Then Boooom!! the pink speed boat hit the beach.
The beach kicked up a trail behind them as the hull scraped against the rock and sand on the ground. Alara held on tight to the mounted missile launcher, her body swaying back and forth with each jolt of the boat as is surged over sand dunes and cut a path into the shore line.
But the whale didn't want to give up and kept charging. Perhaps he thought I can breathe on land so let's keep going, but who knows for sure.
The massive oil tanker sized whale flew out of the sea, dragging its mutilated body up and over the sand, using the trail left behind by the boat as a guide. Raven thought bitterly to herself. Level One mutated sea creatures don't need water anymore they can already survive on land.
Then, something happened inside the whale.
It suddenly slowed down, its mouth gaping in a wide, horrible cry of deathly pain. A massive wave of blood spewed out from the whales mouth. Its massive stomach bulged for a moment, and then it burst outwards.
BOOM.
The ruptured stomach split open, intestines spilling out onto the beach with wet thuds. A heartbeat later, Metal Mouse burst out from his stomach, soaked in red stomach blood, its claws pulling out a massive beating organ.
The whales mutated heart.
With a final pull, Mighty Mouse hurled the still-beating heart onto the sand and leapt clear of the body.
Raven brought the boat to a stop, cutting the engines power. The hull cracked open in numerous places beneath them, the boat groaned as it gave out one last cough of diesel smog. With a final crunch, the speedboat sat still, the side with a destroyed hull facing the parking lot just beyond the beach.
Raven climbed out of the pilot seat and walked over to Alara, who was still holding onto the mounted missile launcher like her life depended on it.
"Well, Alara," Raven said, her chest rising and falling in excitement. "It's not every day we take down our first mutated killer whale. That was one hell of an adventure, huh?"
Alara didn't look up at Raven as she said. "Speak for yourself, Raven. You're not the one with a mouthful of sand."
Raven let out a laugh. "Hahaha, you're right, Alara. The windshield saved me from that fate. A perk of being the driver."
Raven jumped down onto the sand and inspected the whale corpse. "Jokes aside Alara, this is a huge kill. We took down something major. But you know what the best part about mutated aquatic sea life is?"
Alara blinked, finally letting go of the launcher and approaching Raven."What?"
"They're edible. Unlike mutated land animals, you can still eat mutated sea life. And the taste, oh my god?" Raven tapped her lips. "It's incredible."
Alara's eyes lit up. "Does this mean we get to have a barbecue?"
Raven nodded her head. "That's right. It's barbecue time."
They both leapt from the ruined boat onto the sand, boots sinking deep. Mighty Mouse had already wandered back toward the corpse, its mouth stuffed with shredded cartilage, now digging with both claws for something deeper.
Moments later, the drone pulled free a beach ball-sized nucleus core, glistening and faintly pulsing. It stuffed it into a compartment on its back, then turned and gleefully batted around the still-quivering heart like a ball.
Raven approached the massive corpse with a gleam in her eye. She pulled out a long machete from the system space and began cutting through its thick hide. She peeled back layers of muscle and fat, carving down toward the whale's tender underbelly.
Raven worked in silence, carving out thick strips of meat and setting aside the gristle. Alara joined in, dragging a second blade along the whale's side, humming as she worked. The blood soaked the sand beneath them, but neither women minded much.
Raven trimmed back sections of blubber and slid them onto a tray. She added the thick, marbled meat alongside it—then turned toward a picnic table near the shore, still half-buried in sand.
Raven placed the tray down, then reached into her system space again, pulling free a massive charcoal grill. She dropped it beside the table, loading the grill with charcoal, and then lit it up.
"Truly," Raven said out loud, "this is the best life. My blessed life."
