Chapter 624 - Chapter 624: Captain Homans' Treasure

Boom!

The wild man on the watchtower seemed to have been struck by a massive force. His entire body was carried airborne by the heavy arrow, blood sprayed mid-air, and he crashed violently onto the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

The thumb-thick heavy arrow had pierced straight through his chest, pinning the native wild man to the earth.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Three more arrows followed in quick succession. Three more native wild men were struck by the heavy arrows, sent flying off the wooden wall, and nailed to the ground.

At the same time, due to the warning from the wild man in the valley watchtower, the village inside the valley instantly erupted into chaos.

"Aoooh—"

"Ooh-la-la-la—"

With strange cries, wild man after wild man rushed out of their thatched huts, carrying various crude weapons, swarming toward the valley entrance.

"Open up!"

Gin took the lead, rushing up to the bottom of the wooden wall and smashing his hooked batons out with a roar.

BANG!

The wooden wall shuddered, splinters flew everywhere, and a cloud of smoke billowed up.

A two-meter-wide, irregular gap had appeared in the five-meter-high wooden wall, with dense cracks spreading all around it.

Sshht…

A flash of sword light swept past, and the wooden door in the middle of the wall fragmented into several pieces, leaving the entrance wide open.

"Wooden wall? Wooden door? Is this supposed to keep rabbits out?" Edmond lifted his knight's greatsword, stepped on the remnants of the wooden door, and sneered dismissively.

Some of the Elite Strike Team Super Soldiers entered through the doorway, some through the gap in the wall, and others leaped directly onto the top of the wall before jumping down.

"Outsiders!"

A crowd of native wild men, two to three hundred strong, gathered at the path. Most of their weapons were wooden spears, stone knives, and bone daggers, but a very small number of stronger wild men were actually wielding weapons forged from fine iron, clearly not weapons that could have been produced by the tribe's own civilization.

Leading them was a wild man with a powerful physique, two meters tall, with colorful bird feathers tucked into his hair. He wore a necklace made of ferocious beast claws around his neck. His upper body was bare, showing several claw marks, and his lower body was covered by a knee-length grass skirt. In his hand, he carried a gleaming spear of fine iron.

The average height of these native wild men was only about 1.6 to 1.7 meters. They were dark, skinny, and short. Only a very few were around 1.8 meters tall and slightly stronger, with the leader being the tallest and strongest.

This wild man was likely the tribe's chief or its strongest warrior.

In contrast, the Elite Strike Team Super Soldiers led by Mina were all massive men, each over three meters tall and rippling with muscle. Their brutal aura made the opposing native wild men tremble, their faces showing fear.

"Degal, the number one warrior of the Wild Mountain Tribe, stands here! Outsiders, what is your purpose? Do you seek war with the Wild Mountain Tribe?!" Degal clutched his fine iron spear, wary of the group before him.

As the strongest warrior of the tribe, Degal was confident. He had slain tigers, slaughtered wolf packs, raced with leopards, and fought crocodiles to the death. He believed that, apart from a few island overlords, any ferocious beast or creature was his prey.

However, he was always extremely cautious of outsiders from the outer seas, as those outsiders often included very powerful warriors.

When he was young, he had witnessed a tremendously powerful foreign warrior who nearly wiped out his tribe. If the previous shaman hadn't used the environment to their advantage—traps, venomous creatures, and lured beasts—they would not have managed to barely kill the man.

Even so, his tribe had shrunk from over a thousand people to just a few hundred. The previous generation's strongest warrior and the altar guards all perished in that battle, and the former shaman, gravely wounded, immediately died after ensuring the succession of the new shaman.

"Degal. Wild Mountain Tribe. Interesting. Interesting!"

Suddenly, a streak of blood-red color flashed, appearing right in front of the crowd. Mina looked the native wild men up and down, her blood-gem eyes revealing a hint of disdain.

"A woman?"

Degal narrowed his eyes, cautiously watching the suddenly appearing Mina. His beast-like instincts told him that this woman was extremely dangerous, no less ferocious than the island's overlord creatures.

"We are looking for Captain Homans' treasure. Do you have any information for me?" Mina's beautiful eyes curved into crescent moons, making her look harmless.

Hearing this, Degal's breathing grew heavier, but he was not fooled by Mina's appearance. He answered with firm resolution, "There is no Captain Homans' treasure here. Leave at once!"

"Is that so… then let us search ourselves!" Mina flicked her sharp, red fingernail, then waved her hand casually.

In Mina's view, if a native was sensible, she might spare them. But if they were no longer useful, simply killing them would be more convenient.

Immediately, Sriya, Edmond, and Gin charged forward. The Super Soldiers behind them followed suit, each moving like a fierce tiger.

"Damn it! Stop them!"

Degal was alarmed. He quickly brandished his long spear, loudly issuing commands, while simultaneously charging forward himself.

As the pride of the tribe's number one warrior, he would not back down, even if he encountered a legendary Dragon.

"Kill!"

"Ooh-la-la-la—"

"Slaughter the outsiders!"

Seeing Degal rush out first, the wild man warriors' morale soared. They plucked up their courage and charged forward to meet the assault.

Clang, clang, clang...

Ssht, sshht, sshht...

The two sides instantly clashed, resulting in a one-sided slaughter with flesh and blood flying everywhere. These dark and skinny natives were clearly no match for the Elite Strike Team Super Soldiers, who were all over three meters tall.

One Super Soldier struck out with a single punch, instantly shattering the stone knife in a native's hand and killing him on the spot.

Another Super Soldier slammed a native's head into his chest cavity with one palm or simply tore him in half.

Meanwhile, Degal, the tribe's strongest warrior, locked in battle with Edmond.

Clang!

The iron spear was brought down and blocked by a knight's greatsword. The clash of metal weapons produced a deafening sound, and the force of the collision spread outward as a distinct gust of wind.

"Oh? Quite strong!"

Edmond let out a light sound of surprise. In the first exchange, he realized that the strongest warrior of this tribe had some skill. His raw strength was significantly greater than the Super Soldiers who had been injected with the XT Agent, likely around 700-800 Doriki.

"Damn it! Too strong!"

Degal gritted his teeth, his hands trembling slightly, and his face darkened. His opponent, wielding a sword, was actually dominating him in terms of sheer strength when their iron spear and sword collided.

"Outsiders coveting the treasure of Homans the God! You won't succeed!"

Knowing that if they didn't fight to the death, today would likely be the end of the tribe, Degal began to grow frantic. He spun the iron spear in his hand like a whirlwind, sending it whistling toward Edmond.
