Chapter 12 - Suffering continues

"...Fuck you, Siph." Saki spits, holding her head. Her clothes are back where they should.

"Pfft, you wish." The angel rolls her eyes at the Demoness. She turns her gaze toward the Lionide, who tries to jump to his feet but the idea is immediately put to rest, exhaustion still plagues his body. "Calm down, will you? I'm not here to end you." Kon's eyes narrow at Siphiria's words but he remains on guard still, his hand grasps his straightsword. The Angel shakes her head disapprovingly.

"You asked how I knew your name, no? Aren't you curious?" Saki says to the Lionide as she walks toward the two in an attempt to calm him down. While still cautious of the Angel and The Demoness, Kon wants to know how Saki— someone he met tonight—well, knows about him, so he releases his grip but only slightly. Saki grins seeing the Lionide relax. "Someone told me about you, about a lot of you in fact. Some of you jined willingly but you, and the majority, were forced into Harlem's forces. A king who fought with his entire kingdom, used enough power to burn an entire country, lost to an immortal entity."

Kon scoffs, a ball of hate and spite rumbles deep in the pit of his stomach as the events replay in his head. "Yes, that's what happened." He confirms, "who told you though?"

"Unfortunately, I can't tell you that. Not because I don't want to, mind you."

"...Right. Then what's next?" The Lionide inquires. "You're gonna kill me and then what? Kill Harlem? You said it yourself, she is immortal and now you can't run away from her." He turns his head toward the Angel. "Sarla escaped, did she not?"

"Unfortunately... Saved by the foulest spell I ever laid my eyes upon." Siphiria shrugs. "At my current level, there was nothing I could've done."

"Kill you?" Saki asks to the Lionide. "Well, I should because you sort of slaughtered about everyone I knew in the village in search of my Grimoire... but I won't."

Kon raises an eyebrow, "And why would you not?"

"It's simple really. You want revenge as well, I'll use that to my advantage but before that..." Saki glances at Siphiria. The Angel sighs, summoning her one of her red swords. Kon's ears perk up as he tighten his grip on his straightsword and swings with all his might, blade coated in gold and red Aura but the instant he tries to will his body up, the single-handed sword already pierced his back, exiting his chest whilecrushing his heart. Kon looks down, coughing blood. "We have to fool that bitch and this version of you cannot help with that but do not worry, next time should work."

"...N-next time..?" Kon repeats in confusion. "W-what... are y-you on about!?" His arms drop down, his eyes dim.

"Do it yourself next time." Siphiria grumbles as she pulls her sword out of the Lionide's back.

"Yeah yeah whatever you say, Siph."

The world vanishes around the two, the forest, the ground and the sky are replaced by a pure white void where two women in cloaks wait. "Not too bad for a first try, whaddya say Batsy?" One Cloaked Woman say.

"Eh could've been better honestly but it was the first try so I'll let it slide."

Saki and Siphiria looks at the two women before them, "So you're telling me the two of you are me from somewhere in the future..." The Demoness comments, rubbing her temples.

"Not from somewhere in the future. An alternate timeline of sorts but don't bother with that." Batsy replies. "What is important is that we're here to help you make sure you don't miss what we missed along some other stuff. Leaving the explanation to you, Kitty."

"Really, Batsy?" Kitty inquires and sighs as Batsy flies away. "Ask away, I'm listening."

The Angel and the Demoness glance at each other for a moment. "Why are you doing all of this?" The two ask simultaneously.

"Because it's needed. In our time, we hit a roadblock that required us to be stronger from the beginning and have the knowledge we didn't have at the right moment." Kitty replies, "I.e the sins and virtues but it's not all of them."

Siphiria speaks next, "How much will you help us?"

"Stupid question." Kitty says, flicking Siphiria in the forehead, leaving her reeling in pain. "Till you are ready to face Harlem, which could take centuries or more. Since we are the very beginning of the road, both Batsy and I can help with a myriad of things like keeping intruders out of your head till a certain level of power at least and no, I'm not gonna give straight answers. That'd be hella fucking boring. I'll just give pointers every once in a while."

"That's better than nothing." Saki says while shrugging her shoulders. "Oh, about killing Kon. You said not to devour him, why?"

"Stupid question." Kitty flicks her finger at Saki, which also sends her reeling in pain. You'll understand when you'll get out but from now you can eat as much as you want." Kitty declares, raising her thumb. "Oh, still scared of fire?"

"Well, I realized one thing during this day... I wasn't afraid of fire per se. More like what I could do if I let my power go rampant, which happens to be fire-based."

"Fire-based for now. Good that you realized that, now go suffer for the remaining 364 days and make sure to kill it." Kitty flicks her, making the two vanish into thin air.

"Wasn't that too brief?" Batsy asks.

"Hey, you put in charge, you don't get to complain." Kitty throws two glowing shards over her shoulder. "Now be a good girl and plant these in the Abandoned Realm."
