Chapter 36 - [36] Clash

At the Land of Fire's border, Tengen, propelled by the Flight, descended before Killer Bee.

"Eight-Tails Jinchuriki Killer Bee." Tengen said slowly.

"Konoha brat, what're you doin' here?" Bee frowned, puzzled. What was this kid up to, and what was Orochimaru's game?

Flight didn't faze Bee, ninjutsu was full of wonders. He just wanted to know why this kid was here, or if more Konoha-nins were coming.

But sending a kid like this? It didn't add up.

"I'm here to defeat you." Tengen said evenly.

Bee blinked, then burst out laughing. "You fool, yol! Got a screw loose, brat? Talkin' 'bout defeatin' me? Maybe if it was Orochimaru, I'd listen, yo."

The Kumo-nins behind him snickered. This kid was no threat; just take him out.

"Bee-sama, let me handle this punk." One Kumo-nin said, stepping forward.

"Hold up. Still wanna take me on, kid?" Bee asked.

"Absolutely."

"Alright, brat, you get one shot." Bee halted his subordinate. His figure blurred, vanishing instantly. "Wanna see my full power, yo?"

As his voice echoed, Bee appeared before Tengen, a fist crackling with Lightning Release chakra rocketing forward.

"So fast!" Tengen's pupils contracted. He raised his palms to block, but Bee's immense strength sent him skidding back.

Bee pressed the attack, his fists a flurry of phantom strikes enveloping Tengen.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The barrage hammered around Tengen, but an invisible shield seemed to hold.

Armament Haki.

Yet Tengen knew it wouldn't last long.

Because Bee drew a blade.

"Nice taijutsu, kid, and that weird ninjutsu." Bee said, a cruel grin spreading. "But…"

His blade hummed with lightning, vibrating at high frequency, amplifying its devastating power.

Supervibrato Lightning Release Swords!

Swish!

The blade sliced the air, silver sparks coiling around it, slashing toward Tengen with lightning speed.

Tengen's face tightened. To Bee, this was a casual strike, but to Tengen, it was a terrifying display of jounin prowess.

Blocking with Armament Haki risked the lightning-charged blade shattering his defense, leaving him dead.

But Tengen wasn't one to surrender.

Armament Haki: Hardening!

His arm blackened while gripping a kunai.

Armament Haki: Coating!

The kunai pulsed with strange energy.

Under Bee's curious gaze, Tengen's kunai met the strike.

Clang!

The weapons clashed, Haki and Lightning chakra locking in a stalemate. Silver sparks danced across Tengen's darkened arm.

Without Hardening, he'd have faltered, but the gap in their strength was clear.

Bee held the upper hand.

"Konoha kid, you fool, yo." Bee said, his eyes flashing. "Your strength's still too weak!"

Lightning chakra surged violently from his blade, its power spiking.

Boom!

Tengen was blasted back, his feet digging into the ground, electricity channeling into the earth.

"Too dangerous." Tengen eyed his cracked kunai with a wry smile. Bee's strength was overwhelming.

He could barely hold his own.

Ninjutsu? Against Bee's superior skill, he'd dodge effortlessly; their power gap was too wide.

Bee didn't pursue, cracking his neck with a smirk. "Not bad, kid. At your age, that strength's somethin'. I'll remember ya."

He was giving Tengen a chance for last words. He'd been toying with him, but now he was ready to get serious.

"Your strength's barely jounin, and you thought you could take me? That's some arrogance, yo." Bee's drawing several blades from his back.

"Die under my signature move." He said, his grin icy.

"Lariat!"

Bee charged, his speed and reflexes leagues beyond before.

"Gate of Opening, open!

"Gate of Healing, open!"

"Gate of Life, open!"

"Gate of Pain, open!"

"Gate of Limit, open!"

Boom!

A torrent of chakra erupted from Tengen's body.
