Yuyu clears her throat and forces a shaky laugh, trying to break the tension. "Um… Jiang, I guess I'm all ready now. Let's end the practice, haha…"
Jiang straightens, hands dropping awkwardly to his sides. "Uh… yeah. I guess… it's done."
Silence crashes over the room like a blanket soaked in secondhand embarrassment.
I sit down slowly, arms crossed, glaring at the cold tea on the table like it personally betrayed me. My chest still burns, even though they're not even touching anymore. What is wrong with me?
Yuyu finally speaks, voice light and a little too high-pitched. "Haha, wow, you're, uh… quite the protective type, huh, Yunhua? I never knew that side of you!"
I raise an eyebrow.
"But it's totally understandable," she adds quickly, waving her hands. "I mean, if my boyfriend looked like a whole K-drama meal, I'd be watching everyone like a hawk too!"
She winks dramatically. "Don't worry. I've got my eyes locked on Zeyan! Your alien prince is safe."
