Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Garlic Poisoning

It shouldn't be too far now.

Kana thought, they should be less than half a day away from the Count's territory.

Suddenly, a ringing in the ears was heard.

"Stop! Everyone, don't move!"

Kana shouted loudly, as he had told them yesterday that hearing such a ringing might mean the enemy is scouting.

Many people immediately halted.

But you couldn't expect the refugees to have such responsiveness.

Nickum was the quickest to react, saying immediately, "Prepare for battle!"

He said this and took out the garlic grass poison from his pocket, smearing it on his spearhead.

Kana also saw the approaching enemy from afar.

"Soldier Captain? This is troublesome."

Leading them was a [Blood Race Captain], transformed from a living elite soldier.

With a pale, bluish face, expressionless, still wearing the armor from before, but now adorned with some bones and blood.

In his hand, he held a spear adorned with a skull.

Behind him followed two blood slaves in leather armor, a few ghouls, and a giant bat.

Seeing this lineup, Kana breathed a slight sigh of relief.

Because there was only the Soldier Captain, no Blood Race Soldiers, just two blood slaves.

According to the game's level classification, the Soldier Captain counts as a Level Three elite monster.

The two blood slaves are Level Two ordinary monsters.

But here, in reality, one level difference means numerical suppression.

"Alyris, do you see that Blood Race soldier? He's yours to deal with."

Alyris was the only one on their side who could face him directly.

Alyris nodded, gripping her sword, and dashed forward.

Seeing the enemy ranks, quite a few of the refugees began to scatter and flee in panic.

He could clearly feel that the Soldier Captain was coming directly for him.

"Pursuers?" Kana couldn't help but wonder.

After all, no members of the Safro royal family had escaped, except for the Count; they were all turned into Blood Race.

"Your Highness, please come back with us; His Majesty is looking for you," the Soldier Captain, apparently familiar with Kana, said directly.

"Then you go back and tell him I'm having too much fun out here," Kana replied directly.

"Then we have no choice."

"Take them out, but don't harm the Prince."

Alyris instantly intercepted him.

A blood slave and a ghoul charged towards Kana.

Knowing these attackers were coming for Kana specifically, the few guards and mercenaries prepared to flee, but those ghouls didn't care and charged towards them as well.

Kana pulled out his crossbow from his back and fired at the ghoul.

The crossbow arrow pierced directly through the ghoul's head.

The poison on it instantly made the ghoul feel pain, rolling wildly on the ground.

"Looks like my aim hasn't deteriorated."

Kana once again felt the unique sensation of his data-fied body; as long as your body's attributes hit the mark, you could perform to the level dictated by those attributes.

It's a feeling that can't be described in words, but immensely beneficial in combat, almost like being born for battle.

This crossbow came from Nickum, who had taken it from a dead guard; unfortunately, there were only a few arrows.

Therefore, Kana hadn't spent any magic power to transform it into an equipment.

He discarded the crossbow and drew his longsword, raising his shield to battle the blood slave.

His shield was no longer a mere wooden board but a wooden shield with numerous battle scars, much better than before.

He slashed his arm in reverse.

The pain he felt also brought strength.

"Hope I don't awaken some weird attribute in the future."

He joked as he raised the shield to block the enemy's attack.

A heavy blow landed on the shield.

Such great force.

Even with his enhanced power, he still felt challenged.

He countered with a sword swipe.

But the blood slave dodged it.

Indeed, you couldn't just chop these blood slaves like ghouls.

He retreated a step, angled the shield to strike at the side of the enemy's weapon.

He instantly knocked the weapon aside, pulling his head back.

"Spit!"

Green liquid spewed from his mouth.

The liquid instantly adhered to the blood slave's face.

"Ahhh!"

It was like he was doused in acid, his cries of pain piercing the air.

The blood slave instantly lost the ability to fight, clutching his face, doubled over.

Kana spat a few more times, expelling all the liquid in his mouth.

"Sure smells like garlic, ugh," he said.

Despite his words, his hands moved quickly.

He stepped forward and kicked the blood slave's midsection, knocking him to the ground.

A sword slashed across his chest.

His blade was also coated with garlic juice, prompting even more anguished cries from the enemy.

His hands, which had been covering his head, instinctively clutched his chest.

Another thrust pierced the enemy's head.

Having taken down the higher-level enemy, Kana turned his gaze elsewhere.

Over at Nickum's position, they were no match for the blood slave.

Two or three people couldn't hold him back.

"Use the juice, splash it on him,"

Hearing Kana's reminder, one of the soldiers finally reacted, flinging juice from his belt outwards.

The liquid landed on the blood slave, instantly causing him to feel pain.

Taking this opportunity, several of them swarmed him, knocking him down and turning his head into a pin cushion.

Over on Alyris's side, she was at an advantage, but evidently couldn't easily finish off the enemy.

But Alyris clearly heard Kana's advice.

Seizing the chance as the enemy evaded her attack, she smashed a whole bottle of juice on the enemy.

"Ah, what is this?!"

The enemy suddenly sensed pain, retreating several steps to keep a safe distance, yelling in pain, and asked forcefully.

But evidently, Alyris had no intention of answering, directly pressing the attack.

Pain distorted the enemy's movements.

He quickly became entirely subdued, and within a few strikes, his head was severed.

Before they could even catch their breath,

The giant bat in the sky was suddenly pierced by an arrow from afar, straight through the head.

The remaining two ghouls were also pierced by arrows coming from a distance.

Everyone turned to look.

Not far away, a cavalry squad was approaching.

As the sound of hooves surrounded them.

Kana looked at the flags in their hands.

Both comforting and familiar.

An arrow piercing through a bat's image.

Frequently seen when the game had just launched.

The banner of Count Vainsha.

"You are brave, protecting the refugees, and have dealt with these monsters,"

The cavalry captain took off his helmet and praised them.

Then he saw Kana, furrowing his brows, and suddenly asked: "Are you Fourth Prince?"

Upon hearing this, the cavalry around them immediately aimed their weapons at him.

"Wait, it seems he hasn't been transformed," the cavalry captain quickly stated.

Kana raised his hands slightly to show he wasn't a threat, saying, "I'm not on those disgusting creatures' side, I've escaped from the Royal Capital."

The cavalry captain looked at him, not fully believing, and after thinking for a moment, said: "Come with me, I will take you to the Count's territory, where refugees who escaped have gathered.

Prince, the Count will want to see you."

Kana nodded without resistance.

He gave a signal with his eyes to the wary Alyris, and the two followed along with the cavalry party.
