"Aa... So I'm in class 1-A."
A new day had begun, and I was currently in front of my classroom. I had eaten my breakfast and put on my uniform.
About 6,000 people had joined the Academy this year, and these individuals had been divided into 26 equal groups. This meant that there would be around 230 people in each class. I was contemplating whether I could meet so many people and remember their names. Finally, telling myself that fear doesn't benefit anyone, I adjusted my black Academy uniform one last time and went inside.
It was clear that I was one of the last to arrive in the class. Grouping had already begun, and for some reason, the fact that no one was looking at me irritated me. My charisma might not be as high as that of a noble but I was still a handsome young man.
The classroom was huge, and I headed towards an empty seat by the wall. If I were the main character, I would definitely have moved towards the window side but all the seats there were occupied. I continued to sit quietly by the wall. At that moment, I noticed someone sitting in the seat to my left.
"When is this teacher going to get here?"
He was someone complaining about the teacher not showing up. He had longer hair than mine, and it was chestnut-colored. He had hazel eyes and seemed taller than me. Despite being tall, he appeared to have a somewhat lanky build. His tie was loose and sagging. He didn't look like a diligent person.
"Hey! Sup buddy. Do you know when the teacher is going to come?"
He noticed me looking at him and greeted me. Until now, I hadn't really talked to anyone at the Academy. Since he didn't seem like a bad person, I decided to chat with him.
"I have no idea either. By the way my name is Nell. Nell Warden."
"Stefan. They also call me Stefan Winchez."
After a brief fist bump, we had a short conversation about ourselves. I learned that Stefan was here on a Hanbel's scholarship, just like me. He mentioned that he came from a poor place and was a stranger around here. Since most of humanity lives in cities, it was interesting to chat with someone like him. Hearing about his origins, two girls in the back row joined in on our conversation.
"Are you from outside? Have you ever seen wild animals or creatures?"
"Ela..."
More precisely, a girl jumped into our conversation, and the other one had to jump in with her to keep an eye on her. The girl behind Stefan was named Ela. She had green hair and yellow eyes. She had a mature air about her, but she possessed the curiosity of a small child. Even though she was a beautiful girl, she wasn't as impressive as a noble. In fact, she seemed a bit distant toward nobles. While there were people who admired nobles, there were also those who harbored a secret grudge against them. Ela didn't seem to hold a grudge yet, but it was clear that she didn't look favorably upon them.
The girl sitting behind me, who was Ela's friend, was named Iris. She had white hair. At first, I thought she was a noble because of her white hair. There were very few people with white hair, and most of them were nobles. In short, Iris was not a noble. She had brown eyes. She had a quite petite build, and it was evident that she was a shy person. She mentioned that she often went to church. Her admiration for F was obvious. A friendship bridge was built between Stefan, Ela, Iris, and me. After we all saved each other's contact information into our communication devices, we suddenly heard the door open.
"Ahh... Ohh... I haven't missed the class!"
"This girl..."
I had ended up in the same class as Viola Scarple. She wasn't wearing her Academy uniform properly, and her hair was disheveled. It was obvious she had run here. Stefan noticed my gaze and nudged my shoulder with his elbow.
"You seem to know that girl."
"Know her? We're not even friends. We just happened to sit next to each other at the opening ceremony."
"For some reason buddy, I can't believe that."
Stefan clearly seemed to want to tease me. I ignored him and watched as Viola sat down near the window side. Most of the students by the window seemed to look like nobles. Meanwhile, I noticed someone who didn't resemble a noble. I couldn't see their face because he were watching outside the window. He didn't appear to be a noble because he seemed completely detached from the world. He had black hair. Since I couldn't see his face, I could not tell what his eyes looked like. His uniform was quite neat, and he seemed to be waiting for the teacher to arrive. 'That's basically shouting that I'm the main character.' I said to myself and continued talking with my friend group. When Ela heard that Stefan and I were both on the same ritchi scholarship, she had asked some daring questions about whether Hanbel was doing anything to us. I didn't know what to say in response to what I had heard and wondered who started those rumors about the ritchis.
At that moment, when the door opened, everyone froze.
There was no way it could be any other way; a frightening silence had surrounded us.
Someone entered. She was a student just like us, but the aura her emitted was quite strange. It was as if her own body was screaming that she shouldn't be here. The person was shorter and more petite than I was. It was a girl with short, wavy blue hair and the same colored eyes. At this point, I realized that she was the girl who had asked a question during the opening ceremony. Even then, I had seen that people didn't want to stand near her but I hadn't realized that what I was witnessing was like a movie trailer.
As I moved toward the girl seat, everyone stepped aside. It was clear from the disgust on their faces that they weren't doing this out of respect for her but rather because they wanted to keep their distance. I had never seen such a face in my life. Moreover the girl's beauty was even greater than Viola's. She had a round face and thin lips. Despite all this, she was treated like a piece of trash. The girl seemed unfazed by it all and sat down in her seat, placing her bag down. She had chosen a seat by the window, and everyone sitting in that area had moved away. During all this, not a single word was spoken but the silence spoke volumes. The aura the girl radiated was indeed strange but I thought the attitude toward her was excessive.
"Buddy... Have you lost your mind? Why do you keep staring at her?"
Stefan pulled me out of my trance and asked why I was looking at her. At this point, there was no point in lying.
"Because the way she's being treated is really strange to me."
At that moment, I heard Iris behind me speaking in an unexpectedly cold tone.
"You really don't know her?"
I felt like I was missing something that everyone else knew, which was technically true. I had genuinely begun to wonder who the girl was.
"Of course I don't know her."
"You can't be serious, buddy."
"Is someone going to explain what's going on here?"
The person who answered my justified frustration was Ela.
"She's a child of a sin. Sin of the Flower. Does that ring a bell?"
After she said this, it all clicked into place.
'Was that incident really true?' I said to myself. I hadn't paid much attention and had viewed it as just a rumor but that event had been talked about for months. I had mentioned the three greatest noble families.
In the past, there were four.
Sixteen years ago, Dlein Amor, the head of the Amor family, had done something he should have never done. Dlein was a single man and had a young daughter. The girl's mother died while giving birth to her and in her memory, the girl was named after her mother, Helena. Everyone, including those close to Dlein, said he was a loving father.
But they couldn't see that he was a monster.
Dlein's obsession with his daughter was abnormal. Especially because the poor girl resembled her mother, her fate took a turn she would never have wished for.
Just thinking about it made my stomach turn and I felt a sense of pity for the blue-haired girl as I looked at her. I don't need to say it but you understand what I mean. I don't want to provide more details about this and the fact that these details consist only of rumors means that the truth is much more horrific.
Helena gave birth to that little girl I was looking at. She hadn't wanted to give birth to her. She didn't want to bring a child into this world who would constantly look at it with hatred but she had no power to resist Dlein. She couldn't take it any longer and when the girl was four years old, she committed suicide. The girl had been raised like a princess and kept hidden from everyone. When she turned nine, Dlein Amor suddenly died. No one knew how the monster had died.
Except for that girl.
It was unknown how she had killed him but it was only just the beginning. Everyone who came into the Amor family suddenly started dying. The deaths became so common that no one wanted to put their head on the chopping block. Despite this, they continued to die. Within a year, there was no one left in the Amor lineage, not even the servants or maids. The Scarple family, who wanted to investigate the deaths, eventually managed to uncover the truth and were the first to hear about the events I mentioned to you. It was unknown how the girl had orchestrated all this before even turning ten but everyone was afraid of her. Moreover, due to the aura she radiated, people didn't want to be around her. Since then, this girl has been closely monitored. The Scarple, Zephiel, and Bauer families took it upon themselves to watch over her.
Zui Amor. She is called the Sin of the Flower because her birth is a sin. If someone like her isn't villain, then who will be?
