Chapter 157 - Chapter 50 Go Back

Chapter 50 Go Back

With Komachi still clinging to him, Hachiman cast a rather critical glance at the martial artists standing nearby, whom he wasn't familiar with.

"You guys... why are you showing up around my little sister? If you have any ulterior motives, spill them now! Otherwise, I'm gonna have to take action!"

He made sure to express this message with a meaningful glare.

But it seemed like no one understood…

"Ah, so this must be Mr. Hikigaya," an elderly man in a bathrobe, clearly not of typical Japanese height, stepped forward, extending his hand and ushering Fūrinji Miu and Shirahama Kenichi behind him.

Shirahama Kenichi immediately looked disappointed. Just moments ago, under Hachiman's murderous glare, he had been putting on a tough "I'm going to protect Miu" face.

Hachiman had no desire to speak with these lowly beings who couldn't understand a single glance.

But if he didn't speak, they wouldn't get it, which was so annoying!

"Get out of the way," he said bluntly, "This is the first warning."

The committee members had done something like this before, and he had only given them one warning.

As for others, he would still have patience because modern society values equality.

"I think you're misunderstanding. We, the martial artists of Ryōzanpaku, adhere to the concept of 'living Fist.' We've had a long-standing karmic relationship with your 'Yomi.'"

"If you know it's a karmic relationship, you should stay away, old man." Anger surged in Hachiman's chest.

He shot a dark look at the martial artists from Ryōzanpaku.

He clearly remembered that he had no business with these people.

With Komachi present, he was trying to hold his patience, trying to avoid saying things that should never be heard by her.

"Hey, Ena," he turned to Ena, "Please take my sister home first."

"Okay, be careful. It's just some misunderstanding; once things are cleared up, it'll be fine." Ena approached, but her gaze quickly shifted to Lilliana, who stood behind Hachiman, staring at him without even acknowledging her.

A flash of anger appeared in Ena's eyes, but it disappeared in an instant.

She quickly replaced it with her usual smile.

"Komachi, I told you Hachiman is fine. Now let's go home first. Hachiman still has things to take care of."

"Komachi is not going!" Komachi looked panicked, gripping Hachiman tightly, "These people are scary! If he stays with them, I'll lose my brother!"

"Don't worry, I'm perfectly fine." Hachiman was getting more and more irritated, but not because of Komachi.

Damn it! Komachi showing up here unexpectedly, and with all the strange things said earlier, someone must've told her something they shouldn't have!

He cast a suspicious glance at the group, finally settling his gaze on Yukinoshita Haruno. She looked back at him with a determined expression and slightly shook her head.

Yeah, she wasn't the type to be reckless. In fact, once he was back, he would definitely help her out. There was no need for her to do anything that would anger him.

So, it must be…

"Komachi, what's wrong? Did you hear some rumors?" he asked Ena.

"Ah, I told her that you went to participate in a martial arts competition. It wasn't a big deal, but not long ago, those martial artists arrived here and told her that you're a person of 'Yomi.'"

As expected…

Hachiman could already guess what these chuunibyou fools would say.

"Komachi, do I look like a huge pervert to you?" Holding back his own self-deprecating feelings, Hachiman looked at Komachi with a hopeful expression, "I don't, right?"

"Well… of course, you're not a pervert, big brother…" Komachi's eyes darted around, making Hachiman feel uneasy.

What the hell? Why is she looking so guilty?

I'm clearly a handsome guy, how am I a pervert!?

"Anyway, here's the thing. Martial arts can be dangerous. If you don't practice well, you might mess up your brain and go around looking for fights. But don't worry, I've never done anything that would make me lose my mind, though I might offend some people," Hachiman said, forcing back the impulse to smack her. "Just go home first. Leave these chuunibyou old men to me. If it gets bad, I'll call the cops!"

"Really?"

"I haven't eaten yet either, I'm starving. Go cook me something! I'll tell you I won a prize at the competition, and I'll take you out to play!"

"So, you won't suddenly stop talking to people and forget who we are like before?"

"Of course not! I wouldn't forget someone as adorable and capable as you, my little sister!"

"Your expression is so fake, but I believe you, big brother."

Komachi smiled happily, then…

She shot a sympathetic glance at the martial artists of Ryōzanpaku.

Clearly, she believed that these martial artists were the ones with a problem in their heads.

If you think about it carefully, it makes sense. If Hachiman hadn't had a past, and these clearly shady characters hadn't come and targeted his family, claiming they were from some underground criminal organization, who would believe that?

In Komachi's mind, her brother was clearly being supported by a rich woman, but the idea of him being some great evil overlord was nonsense—there's no way someone as dumb as her brother could be a villain!

So the martial artists from Ryōzanpaku were treated to Komachi's "it's so sad that you guys are still so chuunibyou at your age" gaze…

They were indeed a group of kind-hearted chuunibyou. After seeing how Hachiman treated Komachi with that "good brother" expression, they wisely kept their mouths shut until Komachi was escorted away under the protection of the Seikiin family.

Then, Hachiman turned on them.

"Old man, I really hate unrelated people entering my life. What you're doing now isn't very smart."

"Apologies, but you 'Yomi' people are planning to carry out your 'Eternal Sunset.' We, the living human fist..."

The sentence was abruptly cut off.

A very ugly dog head appeared right in front of the old man.

"I haven't finished speaking," Hachiman said as he patted the beast beside him. "I lost this thing before, but I found it again during my travels, so I'll say it again. I really love dogs, they're very smart..."

He smiled at the martial artists of Ryōzanpaku.

"My dog loves to slice things into pieces, especially those who dare to knock on my door without warning."

"You're not a martial artist?" The old man seemed stunned, but it was clear he had seen some things in his time.

"Well, you also have a little brat, who misled you," Hachiman clapped his hands, and the beast turned into a gust of wind and vanished. "I don't care about your business with Yomi, but you're not allowed to appear in Chiba again. If I see any of you in Chiba, I'll burn all of Tokyo! Whether that's a joke or not, you can ask the organization called the Historical Compilation Committee. I'm sure you can get in touch with them."

"Hikigaya, what's with you…?" The hot-blooded Shirahama Kenichi couldn't hold back anymore and tried to rush forward but was held back by a man with a scar on his face.

"Go away, don't think just because we're from the same school, we're familiar," Hachiman's eyes flashed with coldness, and in an instant, Kenichi was pinned to the ground, while the scarred man was sent flying by an invisible force.

"Kenichi!"

"Ken-chan!"

The martial artists from Ryōzanpaku immediately became alert, all looking at Hachiman with disbelief.

"I don't like killing, but if I do, I'll make sure it's all over in one go. Don't let Tokyo become your burial ground!" With the murderous intent suppressed, Hachiman pointed toward Tokyo, "This is the first and last time. Now, get out of here!"
