Elder Duckling returned to her side after a while. She saw that Odette had fallen asleep after crying for so long next to her bed. Even in her sleep, the grief and heartbreak were still very apparent.
She didn't know what happened in the lake, because she was busy spending time with her husband, and by the time she wanted to return to Odette, she found out that they had already left the lake.
Seeing her sleeping while wearing the Masked Alpha's cloak must've meant that they had a fight, or at least that was what she hoped for.
Elder Duckling nestled right next to Odette and called her, 'Sweet Odette, wake up. If you want to sleep, then you should lie down on the bed. The stone floor is too cold.'
Odette frowned. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Elder Duckling right in front of her.
Odette tried to smile so as not to make her worry, but her smile looked so bitter and sad that it became obvious that something bad happened.
