[3rd POV]
Watching Steve browse through the various sections of books, Wanda found herself amused by the confused expressions he was wearing when he looked through certain books. He was accidentally looking at a lot of books that covered Ki, Chakra, and even a few on aura.
Meaning he had no idea what the hell the book was talking about in most of the cases, but he still found that most of it was incredibly interesting, and if it was possible to learn more about these energies, maybe he could get stronger.
He needed to get stronger with the way the world was. And this was the perfect way to do it, with hundreds of different methods to grow stronger filling up the store. And sure, most of them he couldn't really use, but there were still a dozen at least that he could.
He just had to find the right one to learn.
"Seems he's struggling to find one" Wanda said, as both her and Strange were looking at the man that was flipping through book after book in order to find the right one to learn.
"Yes, well, he is in the wrong section" Strange said with a small laugh, noticing that he was in the "Supernatural Martial Arts" section. And it would seem that the Captain didn't even realize yet.
There were a few books there that even he could learn, but they aren't exactly the easiest ones in the section to learn. If anything they are notoriously difficult, so it was better for him to search other areas.
But Wanda was going to let him find that out himself.
"How long do you think it'll take him to realize that?" Wanda asked, glancing at Strange who was openly chuckling as he sipped on the tea he had ordered from Wanda. The tea was delicious, and was easily the best he had ever had.
"I'll give him another five minutes" Strange responded with an amused expression on his face, as the two continued to watch the man, and continued to watch him flip through the books for another eight minutes, before eventually the man glanced upwards, only to stop when he saw the large sign that said "Supernatural Martial Arts".
And almost immediately he put the book back, an embarrassed expression on his face. An expression that increased dramatically when he looked over to Strange and Wanda and saw them both restraining their laughter.
Grumbling, the Captain walked to the normal martial arts section and began to flip through the books there, and immediately he noticed the difference in books. They were actually easy enough to understand, and immediately led to him grabbing a stack of books to read.
It was a ton of martial arts that did not exist in his universe, and none of them required anything special. So he should be able to learn it easily enough, massively boosting his hand to hand combat skill.
After picking out his books the man began to walk back over to the counter, grumbling as they both laughed at him.
"Ha Ha Ha, very funny" Steve said with a huff of annoyance, as he placed the stack of books onto the counter. The stack held a total of 19 books, 17 of them being on martial arts, one being on healing techniques that didn't require any sort of energies, and finally the last of the 19 books was one on advanced tactics and leading techniques.
"Well at least you found the books in the end. And you've chosen a pretty good selection, perfect for you to start out with" Wanda responded with a smile on her face, looking over the books as she began to check them out.
"Really? I just grabbed the ones that looked the most interesting" Steve responded in surprise.
"Mmhmm, they'll be a good introduction to the martial arts of other worlds. Once you finish those I'd suggest coming back and I'll recommend you some other books to continue on with" Wanda said with a nod, as Steve mulled over her words before accepting the suggestion as it seemed to be a good one.
A few moments later, the books were all paid for and were now in a bag that the man had in his hands. A pleased smile was on his face knowing that he had a ton of new reading to do, and a lot of new martial arts to learn.
"So, when can I bring the rest of my team down here? I am sure that most of them would love to see what you've got here" Steve asked, wondering if he could bring them with him next time.
"You can bring them whenever you want, Steve. I'm not going to tell you to wait or anything just because they might react differently to the fact that I am an alternate universe version of the Wanda Maximoff that they know. Just make sure to warn them of my rules before you bring them in, okay?" Wanda asked, as the man nodded.
She now had a small board that displayed all the rules of the store when you entered. It was only shown to people from other worlds, and was going to be utilized so that she wouldn't need to worry about people starting conflict ignorantly again like last time with the League.
"I'll make sure to do that...although I will warn you that Stark might be a bit of a problem when he comes around. That man is...overbearing at times, and doesn't know what boundaries are. Danvers will also be a potential issue as well" Steve warned, as the woman shrugged.
"That's up to you to warn them accurately. If they go against my rules then they will get punished in accordance with them, simple as that. The worse they break my rules, the worse the punishment. And as the board warns, this place is absolutely neutral, so even if villains are here, you are not permitted to fight them" Wanda responded, as the man nodded in agreement.
Sure, he wanted to disagree. But he knew that they could just capture the villain after they exited the shop. It didn't make much of a difference besides happening a bit later and that's it. And unlike the League, they had more self control than them, well, at least Steve did.
"I'll make sure to do that. And thank you Wanda, this shop will really help the team out a lot in the future" Steve said with a smile and shook her hand.
And with that, he and Strange soon left, but not before buying a muffin and cookie each, hungry after shopping for quite some time at this point.
Watching them leave, Wanda smiled.
'Seem's the rest of the Avengers will be coming around soon, and that means my counterpart with them' Wanda thought, wondering what the Wanda of that universe would be like. She hoped she wasn't completely foolish like she had been at one point, but she had a feeling that her counterpart was going to be...a bit more broken than that.
It all mattered when it was there, and what the current events that were going down were.
"That man was strong" Raven's voice echoed from behind her, as she walked up from the room in the back. Looking at her, Wanda nodded.
"He is, he's the strongest magic user in their universe, and is quite the powerhouse. He's sort of like the Doctor Fate of that universe, but without the connection to a Lord of Order" Wanda responded, agreeing that he was strong.
Stronger than any other magic user she had met so far at least. Which wasn't saying too much as she hadn't actually met the true peak of DC magic users, not yet at least. That would come in the form of the mainline Doctor Fate, those Lords of Chaos, and the strongest of them all, Hecate herself.
"Impressive. Could you maybe get some books from his universe so that I can learn the magic of that place?" Raven asked, curious to see what their magic looked like.
"I can. But it has to be a certain type of magic. As Sorcerers like him actually call upon the power of dimensions, interdimensional beings, and deities for their spells. It makes them stronger, but also means they are somewhat reliant on said dimensions and beings" Wanda responded.
"I'll learn it either way. Better to learn it and have the capability to use it, than not learn it at all" Raven responded as she began to put away some of the newer books that Wanda had bought.
"Good point"
Watching Raven begin to put away the books, Wanda noticed that the woman was wearing something a bit more revealing today, and was bending over more than before when she put the books away. Causing Wanda to get a number of...beautiful sights.
Raising an eyebrow at what Raven was doing, Wanda inwardly giggled as she realized what the beautiful woman was trying to do. And with that realization, came a thought as she looked her form over.
'...She's trying to seduce me...how cute!~'
