"Only one hour, huh?"
Uchiha Yu glanced at the countdown in his mind, then cast another look at the panicked Raikage.
As for the Hidden Cloud, Uchiha Yu would crush it sooner or later. Compared to Raikage, imprisoning Tobirama and Hashirama was far more interesting. He made his choice.
Taking advantage of Ōnoki's Light-Weight Rock Technique still being in effect, his Complete Susanoo moved with a mere thought, vanishing into the sky.
---
Inside the forest.
"Haah… haah…"
Raikage's face was pale, blood pouring from his severed left arm faster than he could outrun it.
Even when the shadow above vanished, he dared not slow down.
---
East of Konoha.
Inside the forest.
The remnants of Konoha were retreating quickly, darting through the trees like a beaten pack of beasts.
Not far away.
Atop a tall tree branch.
Tsunade and Shizune leaned against the trunk, watching the fleeing Konoha shinobi below. Their hearts ached, but they could do nothing.
"Lady Tsunade, look at the back of the line… Don't those two look like the First and Second Hokage?"
Shizune, clutching the little pig, wore a grave expression and pointed to the rear of the group.
"Heh, Shizune, how much did you drink? You're seeing things. There's no way Grandpa and Great-Uncle would show up here."
A faint sorrow flickered in Tsunade's eyes.
She had imagined Uchiha's revenge on Konoha countless times. However Konoha fell, it didn't matter.
The pain had long since numbed.
"No… no, look carefully, Lady Tsunade! That really is the First and Second Hokage!" Shizune pushed at Tsunade's shoulder, panicked.
Tsunade's brow twitched. Suddenly she recalled: if Kushina and Rin could be resurrected, then what in this world was truly impossible?
And before they came to Konoha, Uchiha Yu had told her—this time, she might see someone she longed for.
She turned her head. Her pupils contracted sharply, and she gasped: "Grandpa?!"
At the rear of Konoha's group, Hashirama suddenly stopped, crouching on a branch.
Seeing this, Tobirama quickly asked, "Brother, what is it?"
"Looks like we won't be able to escape!" Hashirama lifted his head abruptly.
Still in Sage Mode, Hashirama had sensed the anomaly through his senjutsu chakra.
At that moment, when he looked up, aside from seeing his beloved granddaughter, he also caught sight of the vague silhouette of the Complete Body Susanoo through the dense canopy.
"Grandfather! Second Grandfather!"
Tsunade exclaimed in shock.
"Little Tsuna x2!"
Hashirama and Tobirama's eyes widened in surprise, both blurting out in disbelief.
When Hashirama entered the forest, he had already sensed Tsunade, Shizune, and the little pig, Tonton.
But after being dead for so many years, his sensory ability had dulled. Plus, Tsunade had grown up—he only felt the chakra was familiar, but hadn't immediately realized it was the granddaughter he doted on most.
The very next instant, Tobirama roared:
"Scatter! Everyone scatter and act separately!!"
The Konoha shinobi in the forest, grouped by clan, immediately broke off in different directions, fleeing for their lives without looking back.
When Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado at the front of the retreating line turned their heads—
BOOM——
A deafening crash rang out.
The Complete Body Susanoo descended from the heavens, the ground collapsing beneath it, dust and debris surging into the air.
Its towering form blocked the view of the retreating Konoha shinobi. The next moment, the blazing Totsuka Blade swept across, sealing every shinobi who hadn't managed to escape in time. Even so, many still slipped through the net.
Meanwhile, Tsunade and Shizune had fallen from the great tree they stood on, now less than a hundred meters away from Hashirama and Tobirama.
"Little Tsuna, what are you doing here? Did you rush back to save Konoha?"
Hashirama asked with joy.
In a flash, Hashirama and Tobirama appeared in front of Tsunade and Shizune, warily eyeing the dust-filled area ahead.
Tsunade had just begun to smile when her expression froze, the corners of her lips twitching. Her voice sank:
"Grandfather, Second Grandfather, hurry—leave this place immediately!"
"Don't be afraid. That Uchiha brat is cunning, yes, but he can't catch us!"
Tobirama sneered, placing a hand on Tsunade's shoulder as he said to Hashirama and Shizune:
"Big Brother, you, and that pig—put your hands on my—"
Before he could finish his words—
Tobirama's face darkened. Right before his eyes, Tsunade and Shizune's pupils flickered crimson, even little Tonton's eyes were now spinning with the marks of the "Yasakani."
When he turned to his brother, he realized in horror that Hashirama's pupils were also rotating with the "Yasakani" imprint.
"Second Grandfather…"
Tsunade's expression was conflicted as she shook her head back and forth like a rattle-drum.
"Damn it!"
Tobirama sensed his consciousness being overlaid by another, as he gradually lost control over his body.
Looking down, he discovered strange weeds had twined around his and Hashirama's ankles.
"Tobirama… Little Tsuna… with Sharingan in your eyes, you all really do look like proper Uchiha now!"
Hashirama laughed heartily, scratching his head as he looked them over.
"Big Brother, do you not understand the seriousness of the situation?"
Tobirama growled coldly.
At that, Hashirama finally shut his mouth.
He lifted his gaze forward.
The dust cleared.
The rotation of the Yasakani ended in Uchiha Yu's pupils as he stepped out from beneath the Susanoo alone.
"Uchiha Yu… let my grandfather and Second Grandfather go. They're already dead!"
Tsunade's beautiful eyes trembled as she cried out in shock.
Tobirama's brows knitted tightly, and after a moment his pupils slowly widened as he pieced together the reason why both he and his brother had fallen under control.
"Tsunade, you came just in time. Without you, I really wouldn't have been able to capture the two Hokage."
Uchiha Yu's lips curved into a faint smile.
Then he continued, "Mm, you're right—they're already dead. And the dead should remain where the dead belong!"
Tsunade stared blankly. "You… you're really willing to let them go?"
Smiling, Uchiha Yu ignored her, stepping up behind Tobirama and Hashirama.
Tobirama's eyes swept over him coldly.
The instant his right hand touched Tsunade's shoulder, a stream of Yin Release chakra flowed through her body and injected into his own.
In other words, Tsunade and Shizune had long since fallen under Uchiha Yu's ocular genjutsu.
On top of that, Yu had been exceedingly cautious—by manipulating nearby plants to touch them, he injected Yin Release chakra a second time, quickening the effect.
"You… you even know Wood Release!"
Tobirama spat through gritted teeth.
"Really? You even know Wood Release? Truly worthy of the Uchiha clan's genius!"
Hashirama, on the other hand, brightened with joy, casting Yu an admiring look.
Yu chuckled.
"As expected of the Second Hokage—no detail can escape your eyes. I'm a man of my word. Since I promised Tsunade I'd let you go, then I'll let you go."
Just where he would let them go…
Well, that was another matter.
"You're not such a bad guy after all!"
Hashirama laughed, turning to his brother. "See? I told you, not all Uchiha are evil!"
"…" Uchiha Yu.
"…" Tobirama.
Yu withdrew his gaze from them, then pressed his hand against their backs, channeling his awareness into the spiritual space.
"What are you doing?!"
Tobirama demanded, his voice heavy.
He had already caught the scent of danger—he felt that the days ahead for him and his brother were about to turn very unpleasant.
The next moment—
Just like when he absorbed tailed beasts, a small black vortex opened on Yu's abdomen.
A strange gravitational pull tore at Hashirama and Tobirama's souls, sucking them into the Spacetime Sealing Prison.
Their Edo Tensei bodies, meanwhile, crumbled away into piles of dust and fragments.
