The assistant seemed to be startled by the icy smile in his boss's eyes, or perhaps he was baffled by such a nonsensical question. Though usually quick to respond, it took him a full minute to answer.
"Uh... Find it?"
He knew Mr. Lu had a cat at home, small with yellow and white fur, and spirited eyes.
Various fireworks exploded in the sky, their crackling noises growing increasingly chaotic.
The assistant could only see his boss's lips moving but couldn't hear a single word. Suddenly, he realized, could the 'cat' Mr. Lu mentioned be referring to Miss Lin...?
The next moment, his suspicion was confirmed.
The assistant wisely stayed put, watching Mr. Lu step by step approach his 'cat' like a predator, with a knife edge glinting coldly.
...
The fireworks lasted a full half hour, crackling away.
After the last light faded, Lu Xi turned to ask Dylan what he said earlier. The noise was too chaotic for her to hear clearly.
